Verification of Modified Equivalent Linear Analysis Through Case Study (수정된 등가선형 해석 기법의 사례를 통한 검증)

  • Equivalent linear method indirectly reflects a variation of shear modulus(G/Gmax) and damping ratio $(\xi)$ by selects mean value of every response analysis. Existing equivalent linear method does not properly consider variation of shear strain along frequencies and uses mean value. Real dynamic soil behavior is affected by shear stiffness and damping ratio. Modified equivalent linear method is developed to consider variation. Modified equivalent linear method can reflects high strain at low frequency and low strain at high frequency by using an easement curve. This study presents propriety of method by case study.

  • The equivalent boundary conditions have been applied to the front door panel forming process, in order to demonstrate its reliability and validity. The elongation in the bead forming process is applied to the binder wrap process as the equivalent displacement boundary condition and the restraining force in the drawing process is applied to stamping process as the equivalent force boundary condition. The result calculated with the equivalent boundary conditions shows closer coincidence with the experimental result than simulation with different boundary conditions. The numerical result fully demonstrates that drawbead forming simulation for calculation of equivalent boundary conditions is necessary and effective.

  • To evaluate the seismic performance of multistory building structures use an equivalent SDOF model. This paper presents a method of converting a MDOF system into an equivalent SDOF model. The principal objective of this investigation is to evaluate appropriateness of converting method through perform nonlinear time history analysis of a multistory building structures and an equivalent SDOF model. The hysteresis rules to be used an equivalent SDOF model is obtained from the pushover analysis. The conclusion of this study is following; A method of converting a MDOF system into an equivalent SDOF model through the nonlinear time history response analysis is valid. The representative lateral displacement of a moment resisting reinforced concrete frames is close to the height of the first modal participation vector $_1$$\beta$$_1$u}=1. It can be found that the hysteresis rule of an equivalent SDOF model have influence on the time history response. Therefore, it is necessary for selecting hysteresis rules to consider hysteresis characteristics of a moment resisting reinforced concrete frames.

  • A new force expression on dielectrics subjected to electric field is proposed in this paper. It is the electric version of the equivalent magnetizing current method in magnetic field. From the idea of electromagnetic duality, virtual equivalent electrifying magnetic current method is conjectured in the field of dielectric force problem. Numerical results show that the proposed method has good agreements with the conventional methods. The merits and demerits of the proposed method are also discussed.

  • In this paper an identification method is presented to obtain the equivalent electric circuit model of a wideband underwater acoustic piezoelectric vibrator. Unknown parameters involved in the equivalent circuit are indentified using the measured electrical admittances in air. The proposed method is applied to an example transducer. The validity of equivalent circuit model is demonstrated by the comparison between the experimental measurements and analytical calculations of TVR(transmitting voltage response) in water.

On the limit cycles of aeroelastic systems with quadratic nonlinearities

  • Limit cycle oscillations of a two-dimensional airfoil with quadratic and cubic pitching nonlinearities are investigated. The equivalent stiffness of the pitching stiffness is obtained by combining the linearization and harmonic balance method. With the equivalent stiffness, the equivalent linearization method for nonlinear flutter analysis is generalized to address aeroelastic system with quadratic nonlinearity. Numerical example shows that good approximation of the limit cycle can be obtained by the generalized method. Furthermore, the proposed method is capable of revealing the unsymmetry of the limit cycle; however the ordinary equivalent linearization method fails to do so.

  • The simplified equivalent by using the short circuit impedance has been used for analyzing the prospective transient recovery voltage of the large power system. But it sometimes generates untorelable error in the rate-of-rise of TRV when using the Thevenin equivalent source. This paper provides the new equivalent by using the multi-port theory. The application of the new method to the sample system gives satisfactory accuracy compared with the short-circuit equivalent.

  • we introduce the equivalent norms on special semimartingales in the literature, and prove that the norms ${\parallel}X{\parallel}_{{\mathcal{H}}^{\in}\;and\;{\parallel}X{\parallel}_{\underline{H}^2}$ are equivalent.

  • In this paper the stochastic multiple objective programming problems where the right-hand-side of the constraints is stochastic are considered. We define the equivalent scalar-valued problem and study the stability of the equivalent scalar-valued problem with respect to the weight parameters and probability mesures under reasonable assumptions.
