The purpose of this study was analyzing the features of architectural colors in Hongseong-gun and proposing environmental color design for regional identity color. According to the analysis, Hongseong's base colors are YR of low hue value and grayish tone colors. But a lot of signs and outdoor billboards mar the beauty of the environmental color. So it is more important to solve the problems as well as new environmental color design. The results are as follows; 1) Naepo Color Palette of 2009 Chungnam Public Design Master Plan would be an accepted principal for the contextual landscape image of Chungnam in macro perspective. 2) Outdoor signboards must be controlled and improved for the harmony of the buildings dominant colors. 3) Roof color would arrange R or grayish of deep tone colors those are similar balance of Hongseong base color YR, and gate color would have clear principles of the order such as chromatic or brightness contrast in housing. 4) Forming of future oriented image of Hongseong need to be considered first as to whether it is harmonious tones with existing local base colors.

Restaurant is a settign for est and social intercousrse fo rpeople in the cities, and is essential to provide its users with pleasant and comfort space. Color is used as a design tool which has most powerful effect to change the nature of a space and atmosphere, As a basic study for desirable environmental color for restaurant, this is studied mainly on the following discussion points. 1) Inportance of environmental color and its role in accordance with space characteristics as restaurant. 2) The psychological effects of color in the clinetes, color conditioning of the dining ares, problem of change in the appearance of color in the selection of materials and color harmony of total environments. 3) Prior to color planning in detail , the nature and characteristics each restaurant contains and their correlation with various locational , physical , social environmental , human variables have been analyzed. And the total atmosphere of the dining area as a place where the clients finally stay has been dealt with various visual , environmental and functional problems of color about fixed elements such as the wall. the floor, the ceiling and semifixed elements such as tables, chairs, etc.

The purpose of this study is to provide the methods of harmony in color combination of environmental color for apartment in order to improve the image of the urban landscape. For this study, apartment in Iksan City was selected is a sample and twenty two apartments were analyzed. This framework of this study is A. Hard and L. Sivik's color combination model based on Natural Color System. This study examines various theories on environmental color perception and new approaches to color aesthetics, and tries to present perceptual properties that can be applied to environmental color design First, the principle of color harmony feeling in based on nuance and tone. Therefore, to control brightness and chromaticness with are related with nuance is important in color combination. Second, the aesthetic experience in color preception can be defined as a combined effect of similarities and differences of color attributes. Third, color harmony theory is one of the areas that can be benefit a great deal from and interdisciplinary approach, add empirical study such as this can be used as a basis for environmental color design and evaluation.

The present study is following a series of research investigations on design resources coming from collected data referring to users' awareness and preferences. The aim of this research is to test the Healthcare Environmental Color Index as a basis for practitioners in the field of healthcare design. An array of color samples selected from previous research, have been presented to the respondents via an online survey, in order to identify the preferences of the two groups on the relation between environmental color and health. As a result of the first experiment and through the comparison of processed data, the maximum percentage of respondents from each group is validating the relation between environmental color and health. For the second experiment we intend to highlight the patterns of color preferences for each group, and thus to test the color samples healing function. The compared data also showed a higher awareness of Koreans than Romanians on the potential of color applied to healing environment. Last but not least in the third experiment we show the top five color samples preferred by each group. It is significant that the comparison of the results validated once more some of our previous findings related to the healthcare environment, such as: the general preference for the green hue (associated to fatigue relax according to color psychology) and the blue hue (sedation release effect) but also the yellow hue - associated to bright energy. Three out of the top five preferred color samples have been identical to both groups while the other two samples have shown characteristic variations. These results show that similarities are strong and can be used in a glocal design strategy as an accessible tool for any practitioner. Based on the Healthcare Environmental Color Index and users' preferences analysis, a new design culture for healthcare can be established and developed.

The aim of this study is to provide practical guide for exterior design in apartment and to propose a device to improve the quality of residential environment by the color planning. Color is a language of context and used as a visual aid to recognize the objects and spaces in the world around us. In this sense, each color perception is unique to its own setting and not subject to any universal rules of thumbs, Therefore, when designing with color, each setting will demand its own specific set of rules. A balanced color scheme has to make the environment more pleasant for people to live in . Fro the exterior in housing the use of color has to be considered not just in its wider context of the architecture or surrounding but as an element of the life of the inhabitant. So it is considered on the type of people who will live in and visual condition of site. In this study , the objective model of systematic design process for environmental color planning is proposed on the basis of theroetical background and references investigated, By the existing thesis, resident's preference of the exterior color and foumular of composition in apartment was invastigated . In general theories, based on the theory Birren's color harmony for color coordination an design principles, a device of exterior color design in apartment was suggested by the course of reasonable design process. Color in environment plays many different roles. It integrates the architecture with the site. If color is use well, it can soften architecture that is too harsh, it can give a sense of identity to different part of site and improve a city's image. The environmental color is effective media to enhance the aesthetic value of architecture and environment.

After the "Landscaping Law" was enacted in 2007 Korea, national and local governments has been responding swiftly by seeking various methods. Seoul Metropolitan City and other municipalities have established "Seoul Coloring and Systematization" project, which analyzes and extracts the humanities, humanities and natural environments in 2007 as an opportunity to recognize the importance of environmental color. However, it is necessary to slightly supplement the color scheme created by the observer's concept. In this way, you have to find the color of the environment in a city where real life takes place. The city's environmental color has the concept of "walking" as the basic human behavior. Because the average speed is 4km, it differs from that of a vehicle that travels more than 60km per hour. Also, most of the frontage zone is used except for special cases. Therefore the characteristics of the environmental color and frontage zone on the road side were concluded in this paper as Single Type, Connection Type, and Extension Type. In addition, the principle of environmental color of city was established by the change of texture according to space of time and the characteristics of urban scale, and new media characteristics were found in various interactions. The results of this study suggest an environmental coloring strategy for workability such as hue continuity, hue harmonization and integrated design.

The design in this study is making a plan for the exterior color design for the factory of the H. company. The concept of this design is an integrated color program considering the physical characteristics of the buildings and the functional features of the factories. And this program is based on the aesthetic characteristics forming the men-friendly, professional environment and the environment-friendly, factory image. The scope of this design was limited to the exterior color for 1 office building and 3 factory buildings, including 7 attached facilities. All the 6 colors were selected, and the blue, the company logo color, is the main color.

The purpose of the thesis is to explore ways of improving the quality of urban life by analyzing the Luzinterruptus's work looking for a new perspective on the relationship between environmental color and society. The street artist Luzinterruptus was born in Spain, is a leader in the field of New Genre Public Art brush on a canvas of light in the night. They should seek the views of other common color system and color environments. The method of research is urban design, we consider the concept of the public good understanding, and New Genre Public Art. It also analyzes the environmental color of Luzinterruptus to take advantage of the phenomenology by David Katz color classification. The scope of the thesis is focused on the analysis of the works featured in their website and webzine. Then select a sculpture installation information is stated on the environmental color of their work. The role of environmental color in their work is not an aesthetic experience of harmonious urban landscape was seeking Public Art. The citizens of the area and the installation work themselves. Also it listed as demolition after the exhibition to realize the difference with other people and take advantage to environmental color. Therefore, they the contemporary agenda in many part of narrative takes in the garbage or disposables that you can easily look at our surroundings, In addition, citizens are directly experiencing the fantastic custom-made lights and colors and objects of the oversize as a potential recalls memories. Thus, the use of environmental color comfortable life there is horizontal participation and communication of the 'citizens' critical perspective of the 21st century cumulative cities.

The main problems of disordered and congested urban landscape are due to the lack of holistic management that can control various elements of forming a city. Especially, the color of urban landscape is problematic because it is related to individual and social characteristics as well as to physical characteristics. Therefore, temporary expedients that can solve only visualized problems can not be a proper solution for color problems of urban landscape. This study originated from the question about why the color of disordered and congested urban landscape has not been improved. This study aims at directly improving the urban environmental color by finding out what the actual problems related to color are, and what the solutions would be. The goal of this study is to find a holistic systematic problem-solving method. Problems of urban environmental color are identified from both literature review and questionnaires to the expert group, such as environmental planning, design group, and the landscape executive group. Through mapping of relationships among these problems, the intellectual map was made to layout the structures of problems. Based on this method, the structures of problems of urban environmental color were classified into 5 categories: 1) the items related to the administrative structure, 2) the items related to the color management goal and system, 3) the items related to the color planning and design phase, 4) the items related to the color consulting committee, and 5) the items related to the present state of color use. Thus, in order to solve the color problem in urban landscape, practical strategy is strongly required. It is not a temporary expedient but a holistic approach. The solution for the problems of urban environmental color could be divided into 6 types; ‘regulations amendment’,‘color standard amendment’,‘color management plan’,‘color education’, and ‘advertisement for the goal of color management’. Regulations amendment among these types was proposed as the most effective method due to the close relationship with problem categories. Thus, as the solution for the problems of urban environmental color, the ‘color management system’ was suggested. Detailed contents the suggested color management system were divided into three parts; 1) legislation by regulations, ordinance and acts, 2) management by controling the level of guidelines, and 3) the standards for execution of this system.
