  • Owing to its simplicity and flexibility, the session initiation protocol (SIP) has been widely adopted as a major session-management protocol for Internet telephony or Voice-over IP (VoIP) services. However, SIP has faced various types of security threats. Call-disruption attacks are some of the most severe threats they face, and can greatly inconvenience consumers. In this paper, we analyze such SIP call-disruption attacks, and propose a method for detecting and counteracting them by extending the SIP INFO method with authentication. Using the proposed method, both the target user and the SIP server can detect the existence of a call-disruption attack on a user and counteract the attack. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method from the viewpoint of computational complexity by configuring a test-bed with an Asterisk SIP proxy server and an SIP performance (SIPp) emulator.

  • The PID controller has been widely used in industrial applications due to its simple structure and robustness. Even if it is initially well tuned, the PID controller must be retuned to maintain acceptable performance when there are system parameter changes due to the change of operation conditions. In this paper, a self-tuning control scheme which comprises a parameter estimator, a NN-based rule emulator and a PID controller is proposed, which can cope with changing environments. This method involves combining neural networks and real-coded genetic algorithms(RCGAs) with conventional approaches to provide a stable and satisfactory response. A RCGA-based parameter estimation method is first described to obtain the first-order with time delay model from over-damped high-order systems. Then, a set of optimum PID parameters are calculated based on the estimated model such that they cover the entire spectrum of system operations and an optimum tuning rule is trained with a BP-based neural network. A set of simulation works on systems with time delay are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • In order to satisfy the requirements of time reduction and cost saving for development of electronic control systems(ECU) in automotive industry, the applications of a standardized real-time operating system(RTOS) and a communication protocol to ECUs are increased. In this study, a body control module(BCM) that employs OSEK/VDX(open system and corresponding interfaces for automotive electronics/vehicle distributed executive) OS tour the RTOS and a controller area network(CAN) fur the communication protocol is designed, and the performances of the system are evaluated. The BCM controls doors, mirrors, and windows of the vehicle through the in-vehicle network. To identify all the transmitted and received control messages, a PC connected with the CAN communication protocol behaves as a CAN bus emulator. The control system based upon in-vehicle network improves the system stability and reduces the number of wiring harness. Furthermore it is easy to maintain and simple to add new features because the system is designed based on the standards of RTOS and communication protocol.

  • In recent years, with the blooming of Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud Computing (CC), researchers have begun to discover new methods of technological support in all areas (e.g. health, transport, education, etc.). In this paper, in order to achieve a type of network that will provide more intelligent media-data transfer new technologies were studied. Additionally, we have been studied the use of various open source tools, such as CC analyzers and simulators. These tools are useful for studying the collection, the storage, the management, the processing, and the analysis of large volumes of data. The simulation platform which have been used for our research is CloudSim, which runs on Eclipse software. Thus, after measuring the network performance with CloudSim, we also use the Cooja emulator of the Contiki OS, with the aim to confirm and access more metrics and options. More specifically, we have implemented a network topology from a small section of the script of CloudSim with Cooja, so that we can test a single network segment. The results of our experimental procedure show that there are not duplicated packets received during the procedure. This research could be a start point for better and more efficient media data transmission.

  • In this paper, we present an efficient hardware architecture for the frame memory of the MPEG-2 video encoder. Both the total size of internal buffers and the number of logic gates are reduced by the proposed memory map which can provide an effective interface between MPEG-2 video encoder and the external DRAM. Furthermore, the proposed scheme can reduce the DRAM access time. To realize the frame memory hardware,$0.5\mu\textrm{m}$, VTI, vemn5a3 standard cell library is used. VHDL simulator and logic synthesis tool are used for hardware design and RTL (register transfer level) function verification. The frame memory hardware emulator of the proposed architecture is designed for gate-level function verification. It is expected that the proposed frame memory hardware using VHDL can achieve suitable performance for MPEG-2 MP@ML.

  • Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) provides the multi-homing feature, which allows each SCTP endpoint to use two or more IP addresses for data transmission. In this paper, the SCTP multi-homing feature is experimented and analyzed in terms of throughput over Linux platforms based on the NISTNET network emulator. We perform the experimental analysis of SCTP throughputs by SCTP multi-homing for the various network conditions: different packet loss rates, network bandwidths, and transmission delays. From the experimental results, it is shown that the SCTP multi-homing gives much better throughout gun over the SCTP single-homing case in the networks with a high packet loss rate. In the meantime, the other factors including network bandwidth and transmission delay do not seem to give a significant impact on the performance of the SCTP multi-homing.

  • Through the motion control experiment using Industrial Emulator(Model 220 by ECP), the performance comparison of three kinds of controllers such as PID, RIC and LQR was carried out. It was shown that RIC has the best performance in the presence of disturbances such as step one, sinusoidal one and Coulomb friction for the rigid body. LQR using feedback state variables has the best tracking performance far the flexible body. The performance of PID controller is low compared to other controllers, but the design process is simple. The most advanced controller is LQR. In order to attenuate disturbance, an additional state observer should be used to estimate it, making more complex control system. RIC lies between PID and LQR in view of complexity of design. Even though RIC is not complicated, it has good disturbance rejection ability and less tracking error. By considering these aspects, the RIC is suggested as high precision controller to be used in motion control system.

  • In this paper, it is presented a new technique to the design and real-time implementation of fuzzy control system based-on digital signal processors in order to improve the precision and robustness for system of industrial robot. Fuzzy control has emerged as one of the most active and fruitful areas for research in the applications of fuzzy set theory, especially in the real of industrial processes. In this thesis, a self-organizing fuzzy controller for the industrial robot manipulator with a actuator located at the base is studied. A fuzzy logic composed of linguistic conditional statements is employed by defining the relations of input-output variable of the controller, In the synthesis of a FLC, one of the most difficult problems is the determination of linguistic control rules from the human operators. To overcome this difficult, SOFC is proposed fir a hierarchical control structure consisting of basic level and high level that modify control rules. The proposed SOFC scheme is simple in structure, fast in computation and suitable for implementation of real-time control. Performance of the SOFC is illustrated by simulation and experimental results for robot with eight joints.

  • In this paper, a research is focused on implementation of the handwritten Korean-character recognition system using a neural coprocessor for PDA application. The proposed coprocessor is composed of a digital neural network called DMNN and a RISC-based dedicated controller in order to achieve high speed as well as compactness. Two neural networks are used for recognition, one for stroke classification out of extended 11 strokes and the other for grapheme classification. Our experimental result shows that the successful recognition rate of 92.1% over 3,000 characters written by 10 persons can be obtained. Moreover, it can be improved to 95.3% when four candidates are considered. The design verification of tile proposed neural coprocessor is conducted using the ASIC emulator for further hardware implementation.

  • There are many possible disturbance sources on such a spacecraft, but reaction wheel assembly (RWA) which is generally used for spacecraft attitude control is anticipated to be the largest. These effects on degradation of performance of spacecraft such as attitude stability. In reaction wheel, disturbance caused by imbalance and speed error. It is hard to emulate speed error disturbance because it is not coincide with wheel frequency. This paper concentrates on emulating and analyzing the speed error disturbance. Firstly, classify the causes that lead to speed error disturbance which generate RPM fluctuation. Secondly, simulated with disturbance driver module and reaction wheel assembly which are developed by Spacecraft Control Lab. Experimental investigations have been carried out to test the disturbance emulator module as a disturbance generator for RWA. Measurements and test have been conducted on various fault. Frequency analysis of test data show that speed error disturbance effects on wheel settling wheel speed or fluctuation type.
