Study on the Development and Effectiveness of Marital Counseling Program : Applied Integrated Approach for Marital Conflict Solution (부부상담 프로그램 개발 및 효과성 연구 : 부부갈등해결을 위한 통합적 접근 적용)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop Marital Counseling Program for marital conflict solution and to verify the effects of the developed program both quantitatively and qualitatively. This marital counseling program consisted of conjoint marital counseling(5 session) and group marital counseling(6 sessions). Each 13 couples of the experiment group and the control group were analysed. The effectiveness of this program was evaluated by pretest, post test, and follow-up after 3 months. It was analyzed by Mann-Whitney U Test and Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed-Rank Test. Also, as for the experiment group, the level of objective change perception, qualitative evaluation, and program evaluation were investigated. The major results were as follows: This marital counseling program for conflict solution was effective to decrease the level of marital conflict and explosive conflict coping and to increase the level of emotional interaction, communication skill, marital satisfaction, and self-esteem among experiment group. These positive effects maintained at follow-up. Additionally, participants(experiment group) reported positive changes of psycho-emotional state, spouse interaction behavior, marital communication and marital relationships. However, in the control group, there were no change according to the time. Future research and practical implications were added.

The Effect of Emotional Intelligence on Job Satisfaction in China IT Corporation : The Mediating Effect of Organization Culture Awareness (중국 IT기업의 종업원 감성지능이 직무만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 조직문화인식을 매개효과로)

  • Popular business magazines continue to highlight the employee's emotional intelligence in the organization. The purpose of this study is to explore a mediation mechanism of the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction in China IT corporation. For this, this study focused on examining the influential relationship between employee's emotional intelligence, Awareness of Self-Emotion, Awareness of other-Emotion, Emotion management, Emotion Control and job satisfaction and the mediating effect of organization culture awareness upon the relationship. Study findings are as follows : First, China IT corporation employee emotional intelligence has a significant positive(+) effect on job satisfaction and is partially supported organization culture awareness. Second, organization culture awareness has partially mediated effect on relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction. In this study, the more employee's emotional intelligence have a positive impact on job satisfaction and organizational culture. We can designing a support program that emotional intelligence and organization culture awareness for China IT corporation employees will have direct influence upon job satisfaction. Employee's great talent to make good use of elements of emotional intelligence that promote the work environment and their's condition and the relationship between employee and employee.

The Effects of Maternal Achievement Pressure and Emotional Support on Adolescents' Achievement Motivation (어머니의 성취압력과 정서적 지지가 청소년의 성취동기에 미치는 영향)

  • The main purpose of this study was to examine the effects of maternal achievement pressure and emotional support on adolescents' achievement motivation. A total of 241 adolescents in the second grade of two middle schools in Seoul and their mothers participated in the study, and completed questionnaires on mothers' achievement pressure and emotional support. Adolescents also answered a questionnaire on achievement motivation. Sohn's(1997) Achievement Pressure Scale, Sung's(1993) Social Support Scale and Hermans'(1970) Prestatie Motivatie Scale were used for this survey. Data were analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficients, t-tests, regressions, and one-way ANOVA with Duncan's multiple range tests. Results showed that maternal achievement pressure and emotional support and adolescents' achievement motivation did not vary as a function of sex. Maternal achievement pressure and emotional support had positive effects on achievement motivation of adolescents, and maternal achievement pressure played a more influential role on the motivation of adolescents than emotional support. Among four groups divided by the level of maternal achievement pressure and emotional support, high/high, high/low, low/high, and low/low, adolescents in the high/high group were perceived to have the highest achievement motivation. Findings suggest that both maternal achievement pressure and emotional support are important in improving adolescents' achievement motivation.

Factors Affecting the Organizational Citizenship Behaviors of General Hospital Nurses (종합병원 간호사의 조직시민행동 영향요인)

  • Objectives : Identify the factors that affect organizational citizenship behavior of hospital nurses, and to provide a basis for developing an effective nursing workforce management system. Methods : Participants of this study were 214 nurses serving at general hospitals located in B Metropolitan City. Data collection was performed from Oct.15th to 25th, 2014. The methods of analyzing data were ANOVA, Scheffe's-Test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient Analysis and the Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis according to the SPSS WIN 18.0 Program. Results : Emotional intelligence explained 42.1% of the subjects' organizational citizenship behaviors. This figure increased to 48.7, 51.3 and 52.3%, respectively when other three factors of job satisfaction, age and educational background were added on a one-by-one basis. Conclusions : Considering that emotional intelligence is a critical factor in organizational citizenship behaviors, general hospitals should develop and implement education and training programs that can raise their nurses' emotional intelligence and job satisfaction and, concomitantly, promote their organizational citizenship behaviors provided that feedbacks is provided later.

The Effect of Un-tact Emotional Schema Group Counseling Program on the Improvement of Emotional Ability of Unmarried Couples with Relationship Conflict Experiences (비대면 정서도식 커플 집단상담 프로그램이 관계갈등경험이 있는 미혼 커플의 정서능력 향상에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this research was to develop an un-tact group counseling program to deal with the conflicts in the relationship of unmarried couples and to verify the effect of the program for improving emotional cognition and emotion regulation of unmarried couples. The research procedure consisted of the program development step and the program verification step, and in detail, 8 steps of program development processes were established. The subjects of the research were 11 unmarried couples, and 4 group were organized. The group counseling program was conducted once a week (2 sessions), a total of 10 sessions for 5 weeks. The effect was analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. As a result of quantitative analysis, the participant's relationship satisfaction was significantly improved and there was a significant change in some relationship emotional schemas of participants. As a result of qualitatively analysis through participant's program review, participant's emotional understanding and the couple relationship were improved, and the group effect of the couple group counseling was found. Finally, the significance and limitations of this study were presented.

The Effect of Servicescape and Human Service Quality on Patients' Internal Responses and Their Behavioral Intention in Dental Care Organizations (치과 의료기관의 서비스스케이프와 인적서비스품질이 환자의 내적반응 및 행동의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was designed to analyze the effect of servicescape and human service quality on patients' internal response and their behavioral intention in dental care organizations. Self-administered survey questionnaires with structured instruments were developed, and a total of 226 responses were used for statistical analyses using SPSS Windows version 18.0 program and AMOS 18.0 program. Major findings of the study are as follows. First, among other servicescape components, air condition environment was found to have a positive effect on patients' cognitive and physiological responses, while signals and symbols had a positive effect on cognitive and emotional responses. Second, the competence, among other factors of the human service quality, had positive influence on cognitive and emotional responses, while customer understanding affected positively on emotional response. Third, none of the servicescape components showed a direct effect on patients' behavioral intention, but their influence was mediated by internal responses. However, customer understanding, among other human service quality factors, had a direct effect on patients' behavioral intention. Fourth, emotional response, among other internal response factors, proved to have positive influence on behavioral intention. Results from this study suggest that dental care service providers can increase their competitiveness and customer satisfaction by understanding and improving the most important areas of servicescape and human service quality.

The Influences of Workplace Spirituality and Emotional Intelligence on the Organizational Citizenship Behavior for Clinical Nurses (임상간호사의 일터영성과 감성지능이 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives : This study was done to identify the influences of workplace spirituality and emotional intelligence on the organizational citizenship behavior of clinical nurses. Methods : The subjects were 230 clinical nurses, working over 6 months in four general hospitals in three cities. Data were obtained from March 20 to March 30, 2016, with a self-report questionnaire, and analyzed using the IBM SPSS 21.0 program. Results : The factors related to the organizational citizenship behavior of nurses were workplace spirituality(${\beta}$=.36), emotional intelligence(${\beta}$=.29), 40 years of age or higher(${\beta}$=.26), working in a special ward(${\beta}$=.11), and turnover intention(${\beta}$=.10). These variables explained 61.6% of the variance in organizational citizenship behavior of nurses. Conclusions : In order to improve the quality of nursing services and business performance in hospital organizations, it is necessary to enhance workplace spirituality and emotional intelligence. This would lead to promoting organizational citizenship behavior through the development and application of intervention programs from a nursing organization perspective.

The Influences of Nursing Professionalism and Emotional Intelligence on the Clinical Performance Ability in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 간호전문직관과 감성지능이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the influences of nursing professionalism and emotional intelligence on the clinical performance ability of nursing students. Methods: The subjects of this study included 234 nursing students from three universities located in two regions of South Korea. Data were collected from June 15 to 30, 2018 by using self-reported questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis using the IBM SPSS 21.0 program. Results: The factors which influenced the clinical performance ability in nursing students were self-concept of the profession(β=.28, p<.001), roles of nursing service (β=.22, p<.001), use of emotion (β=.22, p<.001), self-emotional appraisal (β=.18, p=.002), regulation of emotion (β=.16, p=.004), and grade (β=.16, p=.002) which explained 51.7% of the variance. Conclusions: These results suggest that to improve clinical performance ability in nursing students, an intervention that enhances their nursing professionalism and emotional intelligence should be considered.

Factors Affecting Emotional and Social Self-Sufficiency of Welfare-to-Work Recipients: Focused Social Adaptation Program (자활사업 참여자의 정서적 자활과 사회적 자활의 영향요인 연구: 사회적응프로그램 참여자를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to identify effects of welfare-to-work programs that helped welfare recipients promote emotional and social self-sufficiency, focused on social adaptation program for the hardest-to-employ poor with psychological and social work barriers. This study relied on data from mandatory social adaptation program participants among community self-sufficiency organizations in nationwide from December 2010 to January 2011 in South Korea. Hierarchical regression was used to analyze for this study. As a result, among participants, there were slightly than moderate level on emotional and social self-Sufficiency effects. The satisfaction of education program had positive effect both emotional and social self-sufficiency whereas that of health service only had positive effect on social self-sufficiency. Also, these emotional and social self-sufficiency effects differed between the number of needy family in household, type of organization and degree of satisfaction of life. This study suggests that discussion of implications for the development of welfare-to-work program and intervention that target psychological, emotional and social needs for recipients with work barriers.

The Effects of Group Art Therapy Using Fabric Medium on Emotional Intelligence of Middle School Students (섬유매체를 활용한 집단미술치료가 중학생의 정서지능에 미치는 효과)

  • This thesis seeks to inquire into the effect of group art therapy using a fabric medium on the emotional intelligence of middle school students. This application of fabrics to group art therapy is helpful in terms of gender roles and equality from an educational aspect and can help activate and control positive sentiment. Therefore, it was believed to have a positive effect on emotional intelligence. The subjects were 28 boys and girls who were students of the Supportive Project for the Priority Region of Educational Welfare Investment. The measurement tool is a revision of the emotional intelligence test of Mun Yong-Rin (1997), which itself was based on the emotional intelligence model of Mayer and Salovey (1997). The data materials are analyzed by SPSS (ver. 17.0 for Windows). To test the homogeneity of the groups, the Mann-Whitney U test was carried out, and to analyze the effect of this program, the Wilcoxon signed ranks test was carried out. The results are as follows. This program had a positive effect on the emotional intelligence of both male and female students, especially on their empathy and activation of thinking among the subcategories. This study has significance in that it verifies the effect of the improvement of emotional intelligence by way of group art therapy using fabrics, adding a fabric medium to the art medium. As the subject group was restricted to 28 adolescents in the Supportive Project, it is not easy to generalize the achievement to the entiresphere of group art therapy.
