Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the perception, barriers, and importance of delirium assessment of intensive care unit nurses utilizing a tool for delirium assessment. Methods: The subjects were 150 intensive care unit nurses who routinely use the CAM-ICU to screen delirium. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and ranking. Results: Most intensive care unit nurses had experience of education about delirium and delirium assessment, and had assessed over once in a shift. However, a small number of nurses recognized utilizing their assessment result and the effect on higher mortality and underdiagnosed and preventable problem. The first rank of barriers was being too busy to assess patients and the second was difficulty of interpreting intubated patients. The importance of delirium assessment was considered lower than assessing catheter placement and level of pain. Conclusion: The study identified intensive care unit nurses' use of a delirium assessment tool, and the perception, barriers, and importance of delirium assessment. Furthermore, it is necessary to develop education programs to improve the early recognition of delirium by intensive care unit nurses.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the perceived needs and confidence of school nurses in health education at middle and high schools in Seoul, Korea. Methods: A descriptive survey questionnaire was developed by a research team to investigate the perceived needs and confidence across eight health education areas. A total of 329 school nurses at secondary schools in the metropolitan areas of Seoul participated. Descriptive statistics, the t-test, and ANOVA were conducted to analyze the data. Results: Generally high means in perceived education needs(Mean: 3.8~4.7/5) and health education confidence (Mean 3.3~4.5/5) were reported. However, there were significantly low means of health education confidence related to perceived needs in health education for all areas of health education. While injury prevention and emergency care education were the highest perceived educational needs and were also areas with high confidence of school nurses, mental health, social health, and sexual health were areas where nurses showed a significantly lower confidence. In general, nurses with a longer clinical experience and educational career had a higher confidence in injury prevention, emergency care, and mental health. Conclusions: Multi-level support, including the continuing education and proactive in-service training, for the school nurses needs to be developed to improve their teaching competency.

Nowadays, the whole world is putting in the knowledge information society by the internet which is connecting the global network. The internet enable us to see the life of the other people in real time. Most of health care professional obtain and update their new knowledge and skills through continuing education. EMTs who works five or ten shifts per day are not easy to attend continuing education session usually offered during their off-times. One of solutions to this problem would be to develop a education program which does not limit time and place. There has been increasing interest in the use of computers in medical education, but all designated facilities and teachers have no sufficient preparations for the education and training of EMT. There has been less attention to the rationale for the use and selection of applications. This article discusses an approach to the selection of medical informatics applications for the undergraduate medical curriculum. The aim of this study is to develop and evaluate a web-based continuing education program, to help EMT improve their knowledge of transfusion therapy and medical law, and to enhance their ability to contribute to the quality of patient care. The program generally was well received by EMTs. The program is a useful adjunct to the existing continuing education program. It also could be used in EMT student education and other health sciences.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a parents education program for early childhood health care and to measure its effects. Methods: This study was a quasi experimental study following a pretest-posttest design model. The subjects were 264 parents who had children aged 0-5 years in 7 rural districts or in the city. The content of this program was child development and management, and the management for health and disease for and emergency care. Parent education was performed by 7 nursing professors in each area, including 2 education sessions. Data were twice collected using a questionnaire, i.e. before the first session and after the second session. Data were analyzed by using the SAS software version 9.1. Result: The hypothesis of this study was that "the parents' score will improve after education". Our hypothesis was supported (t=7.30, p=<.0001). We found corelation in occupation and past experience of similar education. The contentment of education was higher than 90%. Conclusion: The systematic parents education program was very useful and effective, in raising the level of contentment of subjects. There is the needed for the social opportunity of parents' education program to be extended and emphasised by public support.
Purpose: In this study, we investigated the better application of the law which is about the AED installation and more effective ways of emergency medical care system, to understand the law and to research the current condition of public facilities which belong to local governments, and to seize the aspect of safety guards who currently work in order to provide the installation of AED in the public facilities and to provide more efficient emergency medical service with the effectuation of the immunity law of the good intention of first-aid treatment. Methods: In Gwang-ju, 234 public facilities have been identified by 31 December, 2008. With the exception of the duplication, we researched 158 facilities and received the answers from 95 of them. Results: In the research, 53% of them have had internal emergency first-aid education, and 55% of them didn't have this education and a CPR education manual, and 30% of the facilities even didn't know how to connect with the manager of the company for the first-aid department. On the other hand, most of them were highly interested in CPR and AED education on the ratio of 91% and 93%. 88% of them have been trained about first-aid, 51% of them haven't been retrained, 17% have never been trained. so, the reality of emergency system at public facilities is serious. 78% of them knew they are working at public facilities, though 49% of them didn't know about AED installation. 57% of them didn't know the fact there is the immunity law related with good intentions for first-aid treatment. 63% of the facilities have security guards, and 30% of them didn't answer the questions. Also, many of them agreed to the opinion that all employees should have first-aid training. At representative survey report of participator of public-facility, emergency treatment is 61%, 16% of patients calling. Accordingly they importantly think better doing an on-site first-aid than evacuating the patient. And the rates show that 57% of them answerers tend to call Fire-Office(119) for evacuating the patients, and 28% of them EMIC(1339) for the first-aid. Conclusions: In this study, we are suggest to improve the details of the efficient operations and management after the grasp of the uninstallation, indifference, and unreliable conditions of AED. 1) Need a publicity of AED install cognition which is an emergency medical instrument at public facilities. 2) Arrangement of safety agents at facilities and concerns about them for good management from the parties concerned. 3) Need a designation of legal details according to the decision of the AED installation and the standard of the AED installation. 4) Training about first-aid of safety guards and the persons concerned in the facilities should be practiced participation with the positive and through this, first-aid treatment could be done by anyone who knows the immunity law related to medical emergency. 5) The brochures for the potential users and the results form practicing the instructions need to be improved in many ways through recording the emergency cases that have happened.
Currently in Germany, there is talk of 'state of emergency care', which is addressed to the problems of quality assurance in aged care and shortage of aged care workers. In order to solve this problem in the aging German society, the federal government has set itself the goal of providing high qualified care givers through a systematic and on a high level of professional training opportunities. Various projects and measures have been carried out to improve the reputation of the primarily care profession in society and for the purpose of attracting especially young trainees for the aged care professions. The present work considers training and qualifications in the long-term care sector in Germany; it points out both the characteristics of aged care education and the learning content in the aged care education and attempts to highlight what roles and perception of tasks contained therein.

This study was conducted to provide basic data to find measures to alleviate the job stress of 119 Emergency Medical Technicians by identifying the mediating effect of resilience for life care in the relationship between stress coping and job stress of 119 Emergency Medical Technicians. The data for this study were collected from October 5, 2019, to October 31, 2019. The subject was 205 119 Emergency Medical Technicians working in 119 safety centers located in G Metropolitan City. The collected data were analyzed by independent t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, hierarchical multiple regression analysis, and Sobel test using the SPSS Statistics 21.0 program. As a result oh the study, The mediation effect of resilience was not statistically significant in the relationship between stress coping of seeking social support type and job stress; the mediation effect of resilience was not statistically significant in the relationship between stress coping of seeking positive thinking type and job stress. but, resilience was revealed that resilience completely mediates the relationship between problem-solving type and job stress, and partially mediates the relationship between avoidance type and job stress. The measures to reduce the job stress of 119 Emergency Medical Technicians derived from the above results are as follows. First, among the 119 Emergency Medical Technicians, problem-solving stress coping type 119 Emergency Medical Technicians need to reduce job stress through resilience improvement program. Second, avoidance stress coping type 119 Emergency Medical Technicians should take part in education programs that can reduce job stress in parallel with resilience improvement program.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the characteristics associated with sulfuric acid injury in the emergency department. Methods: Data were collected retrospectively from January 2007 to December 2015 on all sulfuric acid injuries presenting to the emergency department in Gu-mi Soonchunhyung University Hospital. Patients injured by sulfuric acid were recorded over a nine year study period and collected data included demographics, injury mechanism, injured body part, hospital care and final diagnosis. Results: A total of 26 cases were identified. Most patients were male (88.5%) and the face was the most commonly injured body part. The most common mechanism of injury was splashing injury. A total of 16 (61.5%) patients were identified as having lesions worse than second degree burns. Conclusion: Sulfuric acid can cause severe and fatal skin burn. When working with sulfuric acid, acid proof protect clothing, goggles and glove should be worn. Furthermore, safety education and workplace environment improvement are necessary to reduce sulfuric acid injury.
Purpose: To identify work stress and job satisfaction of the emergency medical technician (EMT) and to contribute to the improvement of emergency care under the current emergency medical law. Methods: The data were collected by questionnaire from the total 849 EMTs (635 National emergency management agency (119) workers and 214 hospital workers) throughout the whole country from January 5, to March 5, 2012. Each level of indicator calculated under 100-point-scale was compared by t-test and ANOVA. Factors affecting stress and satisfaction were analyzed by Multiple Linear Regression Analysis (${\alpha}$=.05). Results: Mean level of job stress was markedly higher among 119 workers (76.9) than those in the hospital (56.6) (p<.001). Mean level of job satisfaction was higher among 119 workers (63.2) than those in the hospital (60.2) (p<.001). Conclusion: To diminish work stress and to increase job satisfaction, efforts to support the pride and to improve working condition considering the situations of the agency and to offer more education chance to keep and strengthen the specialty are needed.

Objectives: This study aims to find status of the oral health care, the oral health education program utilization and the oral health guidance according to the experience status of oral health education of special school teachers. Methods: The study subjects were 133 teachers at special schools in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungbuk and Jeonbuk regions. Results: 32.8% of the male and 67.2% of the female teachers have the oral health education experience. Barriers for the dental treatment to teachers with the education experience show in the order as 'disabled children's noncooperation' 49.2%, 'economic reasons' 37.7% and 'medical institution's rejection' 6.6% and, to teachers without the education experience, 'disabled children's noncooperation' 45.8%, 'economic reasons' 19.4% and 'not emergency situation' 13.9%(p<0.01). Regarding the necessity of arranged institution to manage the oral health, 91.8% of teachers with the oral health education answer as 'necessary'(p<0.05). Regarding the barriers on the performance of oral health program 27.9%, the majority of teachers with the education experience answer as 'insufficient administrative & financial support' and 36.1%, the majority of teachers without the education experience answer as 'insufficient understanding and expertise on the oral health education'. 86.9% of the teachers with the education experience and 62.5% of the teachers without the education experience are found to 'guide students on the oral health'(p<0.01). Conclusions: It was considered that various oral health education programs positively influential to the oral health care and education for disabled children should be developed according to the status of oral health education experience of special school teachers.
