Fast-Response Load Regulation of DC-DC Converter By High-Current Clamp

  • A new fast-response high-current clamp DC-DC converter circuit design is presented that will meet the requirements and features of the new generation of microprocessors and digital systems. The clamp in the proposed converter amplifies the current in case of severe load changes and is able to produce high slew rate of output current and capability to keep constant the output voltage. This proposed high-current clamp technique is theoretically loss less, low cost and easy to implement with simple control scheme. This is modified from a basic buck topology by replacing the output inductor with two magnetically coupled inductors. Inductors are difference in inductance, one has large inductance and other has small inductance. The inductor with small inductance will take over the output inductor during fast load transient. It speedup the output current slew rate and reduce the output voltage drop in the case of heavy burden load changes.

  • In this study, the piezoelectric ceramics PZT powder was synthesized by the Wet-Dry combination method. Flexible 1-3 type composite specimens were fabricated with the piezoceramics PZT filler phase and Eccogel polymer matrix phase. This paper represents the pulse-echo response of the 1-3 type composite transducer to check it out to investigate a basic property regarding a level limit switch. The acoustic impedance of 1-3 type composite was improved than that of single phase PZT ceramics. The pulse-echo response of transducer fabricated with the self-made 1-3 type composites resonator was better than that of the solid PZT transducer.

  • A well-known problem in adaptive control is the poor transient response which is observed when adaptation is initiated. This paper proposes a useful method to improve the transient response of adaptive control systems by using multiple models of the plant and switching mechanism by fuzzy inference. The models are identical except for initial estimates of the unknown plant parameteres. The control input to be applied is determined at every instant by the model which best approximates the plant. Simulation results are presented to indicate the performance improvement of adaptive control systems using the proposed method.

Pd/다결정 3C-SiC 쇼트키 다이오드형 수소센서의 제작과 그 특성 (Fabrication of a Pd/poly 3C-SiC Schottky diode hydrogensensor and its characteristics)

  • This paper describes the fabrication and characteristics of Schottky micro hydrogen sensors for high temperatures by using polycrystalline(poly) 3C-SiC thin films grown on Si substrates with thermal oxide layer using APCVD. Pd/poly 3C-SiC Schottky diodes were made and evaluated by I-V and C-V measurements. Electric current density and barrier height voltage were $2{\times}10^{-3}A/cm^2$ and 0.58 eV, respectively. These devices could operate stably at about 400 $^{\circ}$. The characteristics of implemented sensors have been investigated in terms of sensitivity, linearity of response, response rate, and response time. Therefore, from these results, Pd/poly 3C-SiC Schottky devices have very high potential for high temperature $H_2$ sensor applications.

  • 본 논문에서는 유전알고리즘, 반응표면법을 이용하여 BLDC 전동기의 코깅 토크를 최소화 하기 위한 최적화 설계 방법을 제안하였다. 유전알고리즘, 반응표면법을 이용하여 BLDC 전동기의 설계변수를 추론하고 유한요소법으로 코깅 토크를 구하였다. 유전알고리즘, 반응표면법을 유한요소법과 결합하여 사용함으로써 BLDC 전동기의 코깅 토크를 최소로 하는 영구자석의 형상을 보다 빠르고 정확하게 구할 수 있었다.

  • SAW filter was designed by optimization technique using impulse sampling. To carry out characteristics of SAW filter the uniform IDT was adapted. And SAW filter was fabricated on $LiNbO_3$ substrates to evaluate frequency response. To apply properties of photolithography, lift off method was used. Lift off method was superior to etch method in fabrication process, frequency response property was measured by network analyzer. From a measurement of acoustic property, SAW propagation velocity was 2663.5m/sec.

  • SAW filters were fabricated on $LiNbO_3$ substrates to evaluate frequency response and properties of photolithography. In the both of etch and lift-off methods, lift off method was superior to etch method in fabrication process. Frequency response property was measured by network analyzer. From a measurement of acoustic property, SAW propagation velocity was 3574.9m/sec for $LiNbO_3$ SAW filter.

초전도 자기베어링-플리이휠 시스템의 회전체 해서 및 실험 (Rotordynamic Analysis and Experiment of Superconducting Magnetic Bearings-Flywheel System)

  • The flywheel energy storage system using superconducting magnetic bearings is a device to store electrical energy as rotatioal kinetic energy by motor and to convert it to electrical energy by generator when it is necessary. The rotordynamic analysis should be performed with an adequate analytical model and equations of motion to identify the stable driving condition and the dynamic behavior. The critical speed and the unbalance response of superconducting magnetic bearings-flywheel system are studied in this paper. The analytical results show that the system has one forward whirling mode and two backward whirling models below 500rpm. The maximum displacement 0.75mm is detected at the first forward mode (385rpm)through unbalance response analysis. The analytical results are compared with the experimental result by the spin-down test. The experimental result shows that the maximum displacement is 0.7mm at 370rpm.

  • Film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR) devices which adopt a membrane-type configuration are fabricated by a novel process. In contrast to the conventional FBAR structure, the newly fabricated resonator doesn't employ any supporting layer below or above it, so that the properties of piezoelectric layer are not influenced by the bottom electrode material. FBAR devices with Mo/AlN/Metal configuration are also fabricated. The frequency response characteristics ($S_{11}$) of the devices fabricated using the proposed process are compared with those of the conventional devices. The return losses are also estimated, in terms of the kind and thickness of bottom electrode materials.

  • This Paper deals with a Auto-Tuning Fuzzy PID Controller used in real time and its application for induction motor. The control strategy of the controller is able to develop and improve automatically. The new Auto-Tuning Fuzzy PID Control algorithm which modifies the fuzzy control decision table is presented in this paper. It can automatically refine an initial approximate set of fuzzy rules. The possibility of applying fuzzy algorithms in faster response, and more accurate was compared with other industrial processes, such as AC Motor driver. The performance of Proportional_Integral Derivative(PID) control and this fuzzy controllers is compared in terms of steady_state error, settling time, and response time. And then, Limitations of fuzzy control algorithms are also described.
