  • 제주-해남 HVDC 시스템의 #1, #2 Pole이 동시 운전 중에 동기조상기가 탈락할 경우, HVDC시스템의 운전모드 절체와 제주기력 #2, #3호기의 출력변화 등을 EMTDC 프로그램으로 시뮬레이션 하였다. 또한 HVDC 시스템의 AC측 보호계전기를 계전 알고리즘을 이용하여 EMTDC 모델로 구현하고 제주 교류계통에서 사고 발생시 HVDC 시스템의 보호를 검토하였다.

  • Voltage drop of low voltage distribution line is closely related with proper voltage regulation. It depends on the voltage drop of pole transformer, low voltage distribution line, and low voltage customer entrance line. Using above voltage drop factors, we proposes an estimation method of voltage drop in low voltage distribution line. Proposed method has been applied to a 22.9kV practical distribution system.

  • This paper presents a new numerical algorithm suitable for defining recloser reclaims time and blocking automatic reclosing during permanent faults on overhead lines. It is based on terminal voltage input data processing. The decision if it is safe or not to reclose is determined from the voltage signal of faulted and tripped line phase using Total Harmonic Distortion factor calculated by Discrete Fourier Transform. The algorithm was successfully tested using signals recorded on the real power system. The tests demonstrate the ability of presented algorithm to determine the secondary arc extinction time and to block unsuccessful automatic reclosing of HV lines with permanent fault.

  • This paper describes the development of a fuzzy gain scheduling scheme of PID controller for inverted pendulum system. Fuzzy rules and reasoning are utilized on-line to determine the controller parameters based on the error signal and its difference. Simulation results demonstrate that better control performance can be achieved in comparison with PID controller using pole placement to control of a Inverted pendulum.

  • Recently a new modified Smith predictor is proposed for a time-delay system with an integrator. It is shown that the approximate model yields the zero-steady state error and the disturbance compensator improved the transient response. But in case of mismatch between the plant's time-delay and model's time-delay, the overall response is not satisfactory. In this paper, it is proposed that the proper pole is added to the new modified smith predictor to improve the overall response.

  • This paper presents the new protective device which is developed specifically for use in oil filled distribution transformers. This device is mounted Inside of the transformer and connected between the secondary winding and the secondary bushings. It provides both fault and overload protection to the transformer, and visual warning of the existence of uneconomical loading conditions. It Is available in thermal/magnetic operating device depending upon fault duty required.

  • In this paper, we consider the robustness analysis problem in state space models with linear time invariant perturbations. Based upon the discrete-time Lyapunov approach, sufficient conditions are derived for the eigenvalues of perturbed matrix to be located in a circle, and robustness bounds on perturbations are obtained. Spaecially, for the case of a diagonalizable hermitian matrix the bound is given in terms of the nominal matrix without the solution of Lyapunov equation. This robustness analysis takes account not only of stability robustness but also of certain types of performance robustness. For two perturbation classes resulting bounds are shown to be improved over the existing ones. Examples given include comparison of the proposed analysis method with existing one.

The Oscillation Frequency of CML-based Multipath Ring Oscillators

  • A novel phase interpolator (PI) based linear model of multipath ring oscillator (MPRO) is described in this paper. By modeling each delay cell as an ideal summer followed by a single pole RC filter, the oscillation frequency is derived for a 4-stage differential MPRO. It is analytically proved that the oscillation frequency increases with the growth of the forwarding factor ${\alpha}$, which is also confirmed quantitatively through simulation. Based on the proposed model, it is shown that the power to frequency ratio keeps constant as the speed increases. Running at the same speed, a 4-stage MPRO can outperform the corresponding single-stage ring oscillator (SPRO) with 27% power saving, making MPRO with a large forwarding factor ${\alpha}$ an attractive option for lower power applications.

  • This paper presents the optimal design of a brushless DC motor(BLDC) keeping the average torque and cogging torque of the initial model while minimizing the volume of magnet pole. Experimental design method and evolution strategy technique are performed for the shape optimization. The presented optimal designs show the both methods have the almost same result.

  • The Development of A.C. Induction Motor for Railway Rolling Stock. The traction motor is designed as 4-pole induction motor with self ventilation. The winding insulation is throughout of materials of class C. The rotor is designed as a squrrel rotor with copper bar and casting. The rotor speed is detected by means of a pulse generator. The newer tection motor have no casting(frame). Punched-in holes make up the air duct and transfer the heat losses in complete. Maximim motor rpm is higher due to rotor construction. New is the entry of water-cooled traction motors in urban, However the water cooling design in - unfortunately - not applicable in traction motor.
