This study was conducted to identify the educational need of pregnant women, and to evaluate the effect of the 2-hour childbirth class provided by researchers. The subjects were composed of 183 pregnant women who participated voluntarily in the 2-hour childbirth class, and the data were collected by self reporting structured questionnaire designed by researchers. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, paired t test, and McNemar test by SPSS pc program. The results were as follows ; 1. Mean age of th subjects was 27 and most subjects graduated from the high school and the college. 80.3% of the subjects had nuclear family. 82.5% of the subjects were full time housewives. 2. 85.8% of the subjects were ipara. Though 71.6% of the subjects might have antepartal care in the clinic, 67.2% of the subjects had no chance to participate in the childbirth class before this study. 3. Subject's health and lifestyle, especially related to eating habits, were changed in the antepartum period. We found that the pregnancy affected positively on health and lifestyle of the women. Over 75% of the subjects became to understand the progress of labor, breath methods during the labor, and perineal exercise. Most subjects changed to think that they could control their body more actively and positively during the labor after participating in the childbirth class. 93.4% answered that 'childbirth class was necessary and important'. Most subjects wanted to be taught the contents, such as postpartum care, breast feeding, and infant care in the childbirth class. In conclusion, pregnant women to attend the childbirth educational program with their husband, and the 2-hour childbirth class provided by the researchers very effective in many aspects. Therefore we anticipated that the childbirth class on basis of pregnant women's needs will contribute to improvement of pregnant women's health and well-being during the labor.
The decrease in population of school age is one of major influencing factor of transformative educational environment. After the nineteen eighties, the population of South Korea has increased step by step, but the population of school age has been decreasing rapidly by low birth rate. As a result, closed school by merger and abolition of small school occurred all over the country. The closed school needed effective function as center of local community. Consequently the purpose of this study is to provide basic data for effective policy making of closed school by comparative analysis of educational environment such as number of students, schools, students per class, status of usage of closed school of the east area and the west area divided by The Tae Baek Mountains in the Gangwon-do, which has the least students in the nationwide. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1) Gangwon-do has high decreasing rate of population, schools and students compared with other provinces. However it has significantly low number of students per class. 2) The number of students, schools of the west area in Gangwon-do outnumbers that of the east area. However the number of students per class of the east area in Gangwon-do lesser than that of the west area.
The purpose of this study was to examine educational meanings of snack and lunch time of 4-year-old children and their teachers in a kindergarten class. The study was done in the Class of 4-year-old children in S Kindergarten located in Songpa-gu, Seoul. And 30 children of this class, Teacher A who is the teacher in charge of the Class, and Teacher B who is the researcher and teacher in charge of it participated in it. The study was carried out by the ethnography method and data collection was done through participation observation, interviews, video and voice recording, and data collection of photography shooting. The results are as follow: First, the children had private conversations, shared their cultures, deepened and expanded their existing concepts, expressed their emotions and relieved their tension, and strengthened relations with friends during the snack and lunch time. Second, the teachers promoted conversation and communication, gave the opportunity that the children can set the lunch table by themselves and tried to make the snack and lunch time with the children by discussing what they are how they are operated with them together. In conclusion, the snack and lunch time can be more meaningful time for children when there are proper educational plans and support of teachers which are considered children's viewpoints.
In this paper, we propose the way to solve the problems of current college of education at university that they are running a curriculum that is insufficient for immediate application to the school. So, we analyzed the application of capstone design which is proven to be effective in various fields, and constructed a curriculum for the development of educational materials to improve the teacher's qualification in the college of education and applied them to the preliminary informatics teachers. As a result, we confirmed that the development class of educational materials based on capstone design is positive for the change of awareness about informatics teacher's qualification, and also confirmed that the students' satisfaction level about class is higher. Based on the results, we discussed the effects of applying capstone design to the college of education. The conclusions are as follows: First, it helps students to improve the teacher's qualification. Second, it is a curriculum that can fill the shortage of student teaching. Third, the curriculum is an effective curriculum for the recognition of the student who is in charge of evaluation, and the teacher who is in charge of the evaluation. Fourth, Capstone design information textbook study class is a method of greatly improving class satisfaction compared to lecture class.
This study aims at revealing important utilization planning by surveying and analyzing unused classrooms in primary school's facilities. That is various and positive utilization planning of unused classrooms in order to cope with the changes of educational environment focused on high and multi-functionization, rather qualitative aspect than quantitative. By field-survey and interview, physical and environmental factors such as, the change procedure of students, unused facilities in schools and improvement affairs and purpose stressed by schools were surveyed. Additionally, the way of educational facilities to future society linked with residents was examined by surveying about the relationship between educational facilities and regional communities. The curriculums and "School facilities standard ordinance" have been revised in part by several times individually and couldn't meet with educational facilities, educational and social change positively. In rural area, to apply the standard of the capacity by a class with 40 students like city is not desirable. To make educational environment better qualitatively, the capacity should be reduced by 30 students and the unit square per a student enlarged by $2.4m^2$. By room unit module "school institution and managerial regulations under high school" should be applied distinctively to break down like 6, 7~12, 13~24 and over 25 classes. So re-institution of the capacity by a class and the standard unit of the number of class by scale is needed.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution era requires people to have the ability of integrated thinking, critics, sensitivity, and creativity in an integrated manner. Therefore, teaching methods are expected to become more suitable for the trend. In this belief, current teacher-leading education method should move to students' self motivating one and consist of programs in which students voluntarily involve. In this reason, this study suggests FPBL educational method model that is combines project-based learning with flipped learning by analysing preceding research and digital painting tool class was designed by applying it. As a result of applying the designed class model to the class, all of the class satisfaction, effectiveness, and interaction were evaluated positively. Problems such as limitations of project classes due to non-face-to-face classes, large amount of learning before class, and reduced concentration during class were found. Therefore, when the FPBL class model is conducted non-face-to-face, it will be necessary to further strengthen the role of the instructor, provide lecture videos summarizing the core contents, and improve concentration by providing active participation and fun using various digital tools. The result of the study looks significant by confirming the possibility of applying FPBL model not only in design education but also other educational settings.
Objectives : This study was done to evaluate the reliability of education and occupational class between using the health survey and the death certificate data. Methods : The 1998 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) was conducted on a cross-sectional probability sample of South Korean households, and it contained unique 13-digit personal identification numbers that were linked to the data on mortality from the Korean National Statistical Office. The data from 263 deaths were used to estimate the agreement rates and the Kappa indices of the education and occupational class between using the NHANES data and the death certificate data. Results : The simple and weighted Kappa indices for education were 0.60 (95% CI=0.53-0.68) and 0.73 (95% CI=0.67-0.79) respectively, if the educational level was grouped into five categories: no-formal-education, elementary-school, middle-school, high-school and college or over. The overall agreement rate was 71.9% for these educational groups. The magnitude of reliability, as measured by the overall agreement rates and Kappa indices, tended to increase with a decrease in the educational class. The number of non-educated people with using the death certificate data was smaller than that with using the NHANES data. For the occupational class (manual workers, non-manual workers and others), the Kappa index was 0.40 (95% CI=0.30-0.51), which was relatively lower than that for the educational class. Compared with the NHANES, the number of non-manual workers for the deceased who were aged 30-64 tended to be increased (8 to 12) when using the death certificate data, whereas the number of manual workers tended to be decreased (59 to 41). Conclusions : The socioeconomic inequalities in the mortality rates that were based on the previous unlinked studies in South Korea were not due to a numerator/denominator bias. The mortality rates for the manual workers and the no-education groups might have been underestimated.

Consolidation of communications and multimedia technologies are enabling the new educational paradigm such as distance learning and virtual education. Furthermore, many studies in the education engineering field report that teaching using multimedia technologies more enhances students' performance than the traditional instructor-teaching method. However, little research regarding the education using multimedia has been done in the MIS filed. None of multimedia-related studies could be found in the top-ranked MIS journals published in Korea for the last five years, and only a few studies were found even worldwide. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to investigate which features of multimedia software are most important to enhance the teaching results of students. From the previous research, we found out the specific features of the educational multimedia software which are considered to affect the students'performance, and defined the research variables related to those educational software features. And, based on the constructivism and motivation theory of the education engineering field a theoretical research model and research hypotheses were developed. Perceived usefulness of the class and a student's perceived interests in the class were used as surrogate variables to measure teaching performance. Total 277 students participated separately in one of the two multimedia classes which have continued for three weeks. One was C programming language class and the other was multimedia CD-title development class. Each student listened for the multimedia session of the class using multimedia software and, at the end of the multimedia session, answered the survey questionnaire. The results of the study show that motivation to the class and the contents of education were statistically significant to the students'performance in the class. That implies, not only in the traditional instructor-teaching method but also in the multimedia class, that the contents of education itself and student's motivation to the class are most important to raise instructional results.

The purpose of this study was to analysis of the image of elementary school teachers on special class. The Q-methodology was used as a research method which is useful for analyzing subjectivity like as human value, attitude, belief and image. P-sample as subjects of this study was collected from 40 elementary school teacher in Busan. A data was analyzed using QUANL PC program. As a result of research, the image of elementary school teachers on special class was classified as 4 type. The 1 type was labeled the practical proponent type. The 1 type teachers highly estimate the educational importance of the special class and thought it as a place that educational possibility of children with disabilities can come true. The 2 type was labeled the passive bystander type. They are quite indifferent to the special class, and are skeptical about the educational achievement of children with disabilities. The 3 type was labeled the ideational positive type. They admit the importance of the special class, but thought that the image about the special class highly depends on the ability of the teachers who take responsibility for it. The 4 type was labeled the realistic opponent. They criticize the special class for not being the place that inclusion education for children with disabilities comes true and they are dissatisfied with the fact that ordered-curriculum for children with disabilities isn't applied at all.
