A Study on the Current Status of Hanbok Education in the Era of Fashion Hanbok (패션한복시대의 한복 전문교육 현황 연구)

  • This study aims to derive suggestions to help develop Hanbok education in the future by examining its current status in domestic educational institutions in light of rising social demand for Hanbok in the era of fashion Hanbok. We assessed the Hanbok curriculum in educational institutions nationwide, including universities and specialized institutes, and conducted in-depth interviews to understand the operational status of Hanbok-specialized education. We found that the demand for education on production functions is decreasing, while the demand for in-depth education on the history of Korean costume and education integrating Hanbok with design and marketing is increasing. We also found that, in the case of universities, which play an important role in Hanbok research and education, professional research and training are shrinking in graduate schools, whereas Hanbok subjects are being maintained and new subjects are being taught in undergraduate courses. In the fashion Hanbok era, it has been suggested that Hanbok education needs to converge with design and marketing education, beyond teaching only Hanbok. In addition, the necessity of expanding liberal arts education within universities to meet social demand was proposed, and online education was expected to help spread knowledge.

  • The objective of present study is to compare the similarities and differences between the two projects and extract implications for the improvement of higher education quality in other countries. To meet this objective, The study compared and analyzed "The Project of Higher Education Quality Development and Educational Reform of China" and "Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme" of government of India. by using the method of literature research, contents analysis and comparison analysis, this paper employed multi-source materials to examine background and targets, measures and outcomes, deficiencies and future direction of these two projects, and compared the similarities and diversities on each matters by utilizing secondary data from national surveys, government statistics, databases, and third-party agencies. The findings led us to suggest that the well-coordinated and standardized administrative system is a primary guarantee for ensuring the smooth implementation of the programme, and sharing educational resources among higher education institutions is an effective means for promoting their joint development. The improvement of higher education quality relies on the reform of the entire higher education system and the efficient networking between higher education institutions.

  • Qualitative management and certification of higher education and higher education programs are important in Australia and Hong Kong. The purpose of the study is to analyze the higher educational Institute accreditation in Australia and Hong Kong and to provide basic data for the domestic evaluation accreditation system For this purpose, the analysis was conducted based on the analysis framework of Kis(2005), which was modified by the researchers in Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency(TEQSA) and Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications(HKCAAVQ). The quality assurance approach in Australia and Hong Kong is common as 'accreditation' and focuses on other evaluation methods, evaluation data, nature of the report, evaluation purpose, evaluation result, and follow-up evaluation. Australia and Hong Kong had separate evaluation agencies for accreditation of higher education qualifications, degrees, and educational programs, and were performing accreditation at the independent institutions. Australia and Hong Kong do not agree with the evaluation standards of higher education institutions because of different academic system and qualifications system from Korea. Higher education institutions need to consider international interchange in terms of exchanging higher education human resources between countries. It is also necessary to conduct evaluation of higher education institutions with reference to higher education quality management standards.

A Study on Fostering Equestrian Industry for Rural Development of Korea (농촌지역 활성화를 위한 승마산업 도입방안 연구)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the status and development direction of horse riding industry for rural development of Korea. Library research and field survey were conducted to collect relevant data such as number of horse and size of horse farms, facilities for horse riding and educational institutions for youths and farmers and the results obtained were as follows : Only a few institutions among high schools, colleges and universities were observed to deliver horse riding programs. For farmers, no equestrian specialist was available in agricultural extension offices. Horse meat is consumed mostly in Jeju Island in Korea. Relevant institutions should be also strengthened including formal and nonformal education for horse riding and much more schools and universities should adopt horse riding program for the training of youths and farmers. Considering the obesity problem, the nutritional composition of horse meat is better than those of pork or beef, so promotion of horse meat consumption also should be strengthened.

  • The main purpose of the study is to determine information and communication technologies for the innovative development of tourism training in higher education institutions in the context of COVID-19. Innovative development is associated with the rejection of well-known cliches, stereotypes in teaching, upbringing and personal development, creates new standards for personal-creative, individually directed tourism activities, develops pedagogical technologies implemented in this activity. As a result, the main aspects of information and communication technologies for the innovative development of tourist training in higher education institutions in the context of COVID-19 were characterized.

  • Most schools and educational institutions, as well as most companies, show willingness to teach CPR. However, as an essential element for the health care workers, this study aims to analyze the appropriate timing of education and improvements to the education, focusing on those who have trained for CPR. The survey was conducted for only those who applied for CPR education regardless of their profession in medical institutions. There were 105 males and 93 females by gender, and an average of 198 females were 33.5 years. The difference in CPR education depending on individual characteristics showed a high demand that all research subjects' gender, age and marital status should be improved to a practical education. During the education period, the efficiency of CPR was high. It is expected that the education of CPR will be used for the improvement of the training cycle and the training content since it is the enhancement of the performance capabilities that require practical application.

  • The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has profoundly impacted all aspects of undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education. Only the focus of medical education-care for patients and communities-has remained an integral part of all of the above sectors. Several challenges have been experienced by learners and educators as the education and training of future doctors has continued in the midst of this crisis, including the cancellation of face-to-face classes and training, reduced patient encounter opportunities, fairness issues in online assessments, disruption of patient interview-based exams, reflections on the role of doctors in society, and mental health-related problems linked to isolation and concerns about infection. In response to these disruptions, educators and institutions have rapidly deployed educational innovations. Schools have adopted educational strategies to overcome these challenges by implementing novel education delivery methods in an online format, providing clinical experiences through simulation or telehealth methods, introducing online assessment tools with formative purposes, encouraging learners' involvement in nonclinical activities such as community service, and making available resources and programs to sustain learners' mental health and wellness. During the COVID-19 pandemic, educators and institutions have faced drastic changes in medical education worldwide. At the same time, the quantitative expansion of online education has caused other problems, such as the lack of human collaboration. The long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on medical education need to be studied further.

Satisfaction of Preparatory Year Students at Umm Al-Qura University with Distance Learning During Covid-19

  • During the past two years, the education systems in the world witnessed unprecedented turmoil due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, as most schools and universities in the world closed their doors to more than 1.5 billion students, or more than 90% of the total learners, according to recent figures issued by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics. Education experts have agreed that post- coronavirus education will not be the same as before, especially with the increasing use of modern technology in education. One of the most important new patterns with a structure digital in education is distance education, this style has been used, in many countries of the world, as an alternative to traditional education, since the beginning of the pandemic. In Saudi Arabia, this type of education has been used in all educational institutions, starting from kindergarten until the postgraduate level, as an alternative to face-to-face education to preserve the health and safety of students and workers in educational institutions. This study aimed to explore the level of satisfaction of preparatory year students on distance learning in their first year of study at Umm Al-Qura University. The findings of this study showed that students in the preparatory year were satisfied with their online learning experience. In addition, the results revealed that there was no effect for gender and location of study on students' level of satisfaction. Saudi universities should continue to work to create a suitable learning environment for students at the e-learning level.

Effects of the Amendment of Regulation of Ministry of Education and Co-op: Focusing on the Perception of University Co-op Operators (교육부 고시 개정이 대학 현장실습학기제에 미치는 영향: 대학 현장실습 운영자의 인식을 중심으로)

  • On July 6, 2021, the Ministry of Education revised and announced the operating regulations of the undergraduate co-op with the aim of protecting students rights and student-centered operation based on mutual benefits for students and institutions. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze universities' perceptions against the amendment of regulation of the Ministry of Education's into universities/college, regions. According to a survey of 75 KACE, we found that colleges are more difficult than universities in terms of administrative work, company participation, reduced opportunities for co-op, and managing participating companies. Next, most of the regional differences in difficulties were not significant, and only the decline in company participation rate was more difficult in Daegyoung/Gangwon/Chungcheong/Jeju than in the metropolitan area. Finally, policy directions such as the differential application of practical support expenses according to the size of the company, tax benefits for institutions, and clarification of the concept of job training were presented.

The Effect of Welfare System of Medical Institutions on Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment of Female Workers (의료기관의 복리후생제도가 여성근로자의 직무만족 및 조직몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of welfare system of medical institutions on job satisfaction and organizational commitment of female workers. Methods : A survey was performed with 556 female workers of 11 general hospital and 7 acute period hospital in Busan. Data were collected from October to November 2017 with a self-report questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS 24.0. Results : Among those aged over 40 years, high awareness of obligatory welfare, job education, free use of the annual leave, and flexible working system was a positive factor in job satisfaction. Among managers, free use of the annual leave, job education, flexible working system and child-care facilities was a positive factor in organizational commitment. Conclusions : In medical institutions with a relatively high proportion of married women, although interest in welfare for childbirth and child rearing is high, execution is sluggish, hence, policy support of government and medical institutions in this field is necessary.
