  • This study was conducted to verify the mediating effect of ego-resilience when early childhood teachers' autonomy affects teacher efficacy. The subjects of the study were 316 early childhood teachers in J degree. For data analysis, SPSS 25.0 was used to conduct Baron & Kenny's 3-step mediation effect analysis using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation analysis, and Process Macro. As a result of the study, first, early childhood teachers' autonomy, teaching efficacy, and ego-resilience were found to have a positive correlation with each other. Second, when early childhood teachers' autonomy affects teacher efficacy, it was found that ego-resilience partially mediates. In other words, it can be interpreted that the autonomy of early childhood teachers has a meaningful effect when ego-resilience is added when it affects the improvement of teacher efficacy. Through this, it is intended to provide basic data for improving early childhood teachers' sense of teacher efficacy and preparing a direction for teacher education support.

  • This study reviews the current status of Korean first graders, their experience with early care and education (ECE) programs, and their participation in private and after-school education. The research also examines how school adjustment during the first grade is related to family income, types of ECE programs, and participation in private and after-school education. Using the first year data of the Korean Child and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) 2010, this study analyzes 752 first graders who attended only one of two types of ECE programs (child care centers or kindergartens), after which two 25% income extremes were examined. The analysis demonstrates that children from low-income households attended child care centers more often, while children from high-income households attended kindergartens more often. For both low-income and high-income groups, child care centers had a lower starting age and longer attendance periods than did kindergartens. High-income household children started attending ECE programs earlier, experienced more private and after-school education, and received a larger number of private and after-school educational lessons. For the second research purpose, children from low-income families showed better peer relations in school adjustment, while children attending child care centers showed better teacher relations than children attending kindergartens. Children with after-school education also exhibited better peer relations. These findings show the importance of government support for early learning, especially for low-income families and offer a foundation for developing private education polices for early childhood before and after school entry.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the trends in the studies on safety education of infant-early childhood teachers in order to provide basic data for a variety of studies in the field of child education. We consulted a total of 59 dissertations and journals articles on the safety education of infant-early childhood teachers published from 2008 to 2018. Our results were as follows: First, we found that the largest number of studies concerned safety awareness, followed by status and awareness, safety actions, safety education analysis, safety accidents and countermeasures, emergencies, development of programs, and teacher education. Second, we found that the most popular targets were child-care of teachers, followed by teacher-trainees, and center directors. Third, among the types of studies, we found that investigative quantitative studies were the most prevalent, followed by correlational studies, qualitative studies, and experimental studies. In terms of methods of gathering data, we found that questionnaires were the most commonly used, followed by qualitative studies, literature reviews, qualitative/quantitative studies, and quantitative literature reviews.

  • We analyze the perceptions and requirements of early childhood teachers for artificial intelligence(AI) education to develop an AI education program for 5-year-olds. As for the research methodology, we conducted a survey and an in-depth interview to extract the AI educational elements centering on the analysis stage, the first stage of the ADDIE model. The research result is that first, it is necessary to design a curriculum that combines the contents of early childhood education and AI education to be naturally accepted as AI education for 5-year-olds. Second, an evaluation tool for AI education that can showcase the teacher's reflection should be developed systematically. Third, it is necessary to support a play-centered AI education support and environment for early childhood teachers. Lastly, it is essential to establish a system that can be continuously operated in the field of early childhood education in consideration of AI education in the non-curricular curriculum. It is expected that in the future, a play-oriented AI education program for 5-year-olds will be developed to spread awareness of AI education for infants and present an AI education approach for each age and stage of learners.

Second, The revised emphasis of the curriculum establish itself with three qualities and abilities that must be nurtured through infancy and clarifies ten childhood images. Also, Emphasis is placed on the establishment of curriculum and management to implement these. Expert review is needed to ensure that the content presented in childhood images is appropriate and does not emphasize the establishment of curriculum and management without ensuring teacher autonomy.

  • Science and technology have led the development of mankind, but have created problems such as natural depletion, climate change, economic inequality and poverty. The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning of early childhood science for sustainable development to solve these problems and to contribute to the harmony of nature and human beings. In order to accomplish this research objectives, 18 experts and 15 teachers were interviewed on the meaning of sustainable development and the directions of early childhood science education for sustainable development. Early childhood science education for sustainable development was categorized as follows. 'Mutual respect between child-teacher-organism', 'developing individual inquiry-based on community consciousness', 'looking at the world with child's eyes', 'deepening and expanding on topics of interest', 'continuous inquiry and commitment', 'conversation and sharing-centered exploration'. By these results, it was concluded that early childhood science education for sustainable development should start from the perspective of children, and was a meaningful process in which children constantly learn about the nature surrounding themselves based on mutual respect.

  • Recently, there are efforts to improve my learning ability by using various learning tools based on ICT technology. The application such as games is used in conjunction with lecture class to induce interest in the class and to enhance the learning effect by using smartphone app as learning tool. In addition, we are trying to improve creative thinking ability, problem solving ability and logical thinking ability through early coding education. In this paper, we describe the learning and quiz app using the app inventor and conducted the related questionnaire. We developed a learning philosophy for preliminary early childhood teachers using the developed apps and taught them how to utilize them in early childhood education by explaining the apps and using the app inventor. Through questionnaires, we confirmed the learning effect and the willingness to use in early childhood education. Through this study, I hope to improve the ability of early childhood teacher learning and to utilize the coding in early childhood education with the app developed as the app inventor.
