  • Many organizations today use patch management systems to uniformly manage software vulnerabilities. However, the patch management system does not guarantee the integrity of the patch in the process of providing the patch to the client. In this paper, we propose a method to guarantee patch integrity through dual electronic signatures. The dual electronic signatures are performed by the primary distribution server with the first digital signature and the secondary distribution server with the second digital signature. The dual electronic signature ensures ensure that there is no forgery or falsification in the patch transmission process, so that the client can verify that the patch provided is a normal patch. The dual electronic signatures can enhance the security of the patch management system, providing a secure environment for clients.

  • Our overdependence on the limited supply of fossil fuel with the burden of emission as a consequence of its utilization has been a major concern. Biodiesel is emerging as a potential diesel substitution for its similar performance, with the additional benefits of emitting lesser emissions. Due to the easy availability of feedstock for Biogas production, Biogas is studied for its use in CI engines. In this study, we considered Linseed Biodiesel and Biogas to run on dual fuel mode in a CI engine. An energy and exergy analysis was conducted to study the rate of fuel energy and exergy transformation to various other processes. Exergy relocation to exhaust gases was observed to be an average of 5% more for dual fuel mode than the diesel mode, whereas exergy relocation to the diesel mode was observed to be more than the dual fuel modes. Also, exergy loss to exhaust gas is observed to be more than the exergy transferred to cooling water or shaft. The exergy efficiency observed for biodiesel-biogas mode is only lesser by 3% compared to diesel-biogas mode, suggesting Biodiesel can be a substitute fuel for diesel.

  • Dual-use technology, upon its effective development, can be a highly efficient technology that may be utilized for both achieving industry competitiveness and building National Security. Although research needs for such development methodology and call for corresponding efforts have long been proposed, actual outputs have not reached its desired level. Hence, this paper aims to provide more concrete and quantitative process in technology planning used to activate development of dual-use technology, considering dual usability and transferability of such technologies. In such effort, we propose use of patent analysis and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for determining priorities for spin-off defense technology. First, the necessity of R&D and potential spin-off are measured based on patent information. Second, the necessity of R&D results from a quantitative analysis and the potentials spin-off are derived from analysis of patent citations. Then, AHP is used to calculate the importance of evaluating factors, and to assess alternative scores. Finally, we present the result of spin-off priority. A case study on the Korea defense technology is presented to illustrate the proposed method. We expect this study to make contribution in vision making of the military R&D spending.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to understand the factors affecting the dual smoking experience of conventional and heat-not-burn tobacco among adolescents with smoking experience. Methods: The study selected 8,691 people with experience in smoking. Data analysis used SPSS 25.0. Logistic regression was performed to identify the factors affecting the dual smoking experience. Results: In this study, the dual smoking experience rate of conventional and heat-not-burn tobacco was 16.3%. The dual smoking experience rate was 5.09 times higher than the number of smokers among friends. The lower the smoking age, the higher the smoking rate, and the longer the smoking days, the higher the dual smoking rate of heat-not-burn cigarettes. Conclusion: We need a peer-to-peer group arbitration program rather than a separate anti-smoking arbitration program for smokers.

  • In general, the network survivability means that The user do not know the network faults and the recovery of those. For this, we use the dual(multi) routes between each two nodes. It is important that the each dual routes have efficient costs(or minimum). Even if one route is the minimum cost in case of no fault, another route of dual may be very large cost in case of fault case. Therefore we need the dual routes of each two nodes having the efficient(or minimum) costs. In this paper we find the network design method for the dual routes of each two node having the efficient costs. Although the design method is very simple and heuristic and it may be not useful for some networks, we will use it in various network environment.. Because this design method can be used very easy. A sample design will proof this usefulness.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to research the effects of dual-hemisphere transcranial direct current stimulation (dual tDCS) and modified constraint-induced movement therapy (mCIMT) to improve upper extremity motor function after stroke. Methods : The study period was from August 2019 to November 2019, and included 24 patients who met the selection criteria. Participants were divided into 2 groups: dual tDCS and mCIMT, and sham dual tDCS and mCIMT group. Dual tDCS and mCIMT group performed mCIMT immediately after applying dual tDCS for 20 minutes, and sham dual tDCS and mCIMT group performed mCIMT immediately after applying sham tDCS for 20 minutes without turning on the power source. Total interventions were conducted 5 times per week for 4 weeks, and mCIMT was conducted for 30 minutes per session for both experimental and control groups. Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA) and Motor Activity Log scale (MAL) were analyzed before and after 4 weeks of intervention. Results : Both experimental and control groups showed significant changes in FMA, Amount of Use (AOU), and Quality of Movement (QOM) of MAL. When the differences between groups was compared using ANCOVA, the experimental group showed a greater improvement in FMA and AOU of MAL than the control group. Conclusion : In order to enhance the effect of improving upper limb function of stroke patients, dual tDCS could be applied to provide more effective treatment in the clinical setting. Further studies will be needed in larger groups of stroke patients, including long-term follow-up, and multi-group comparisons through the establishment of anodal tDCS and mCIMT, cathodal tDCS, and mCIMT groups to clarify the effects of dual tDCS. In addition, research is needed to establish a protocol for tDCS, and this evidence-based intervention protocol is expected to be used in the clinical setting as an interventional method for various purposes.

  • Biometric user authentications, day after day, propagate more to human life instead of traditional systems which use passwords and ID cards. However, most of these systems have many problems for given biometric information such noisy data, low-quality data, a limitation of recognition rate, and so on. To deal with these problems, I used Dual QML which is non-linear classification for classifying correctly the real-world data and then proposed preprocessing method for increasing recognition rate and performance by segmenting a specific region on an image. The previous published Dual QML used face, palmprint, ear for the experiment. In this paper, I used iris for experiment and then proved excellence of Dual QML at iris recognition. Finally I demonstrated these results (e.g. increasing recognition rate and performance, suitability for iris recognition) through experiments.
