Dose distribution throughout the clinical organ range of motion was analyzed using a respiratory-motion simulator that was equipped with a polymer gel dosimeter and EBT2 film. The normoxic polymer gel dosimeter was synthesized from gelatin, MAA, HQ, THPC and HPLC. The gel dosimeter and EBT2 film were irradiated with Co-60 gamma rays that were moved along the x-axis and y-axis in ${\pm}1.5cm$ steps at five-second intervals. The field size was $5{\times}5cm^2$. The SSD was 80 cm and set to 10 Gy at a depth of 2 cm. The PDD at a depth of 50 mm was 75.2% in the ion chamber, 82.3% in the static state and 86.1% in the dynamic state in the gel dosimeter. The penumbra for the dynamic state target, which was measured using the gel dosimeter, averaged 10.89 mm, this is a 40.5% increase over the penumbra of the static state target of 7.74 mm. In addition, when measuring with gel dosimetry, the value for the penumbra is 36.6% smaller in the static state and 29.4% smaller in the dynamic state compared to measuring with film. The aim of this study was to investigate the dosimetric properties of a normoxic polymethacrylic acid gel dosimeter in static and dynamic states and to evaluate the potentiality as a relative dosimeter for dynamic therapeutic radiation.

This study was the estimation of the dose distribution for proton, prompt gamma rays and proton induced neutron particles, in case of exposing the proton beam to polymer gel dosimeter and water phantom. The polymer gel dosimeter was compositeness material of Gelatin, Methacrylic acid, Hydroquinone, Tetrakis and Distilled water. The density of gel dosimeter was $1.04g/cm^3$ which was similar to water. The 72, 116 and 140 MeV proton beams were used in the simulation. Proton beam interacted with the nuclei of the phantom and the nuclei in excited states emitted prompt gamma rays and proton induced neutron particles during the process of de-excitation. The proton particles, prompt gamma rays, proton induced neutron particles were detected by polymer gel dosimeter and water phantom, respectively. The gap of the axis for gel was 2 mm. The Bragg-peak for proton particles in gel dosimeter was similar to water phantom. The dose distribution for proton and prompt gamma rays in gel dosimeter and water phantom was approximately identical in case of 72, 116 and 140 MeV for proton beam. However, in case of proton induced neutron particles for 72, 116 and 140 MeV proton beam, particles were not detected in gel dosimeter, while the Water phantom absorbed neutron particles. Considering the resulting data, gel dosimeter which was developed in the normoxic state attentively detected the dose distribution for proton beam exposure except proton induced neutron particles.
In this study, we measured the dose reaching the OSLD dosimeter by using the regular lead apron, and air gap apron through 3 experiments, and researched the reductive effect of air gap apron on exposure dose based on the 140 keV gamma ray radiating from $^{99m}technetium$, which is the most commonly used in nuclear medicine. As a result, when the gap between the dosimeter and 0.2mm lead plate is 0 Cm, the average value of 10 dosimeters was 0.515 mSv, and when the gap between the dosimeter and lead plate is 20 Cm, the average value of 10 dosimeters was 0.138 mSv, which shows reductive effect of dose as much as 0.388 mSv. When the gap between the dosimeter and 0.5mm lead plate is 0 Cm, the average value of 10 dosimeters was 0.296 mSv, and when the gap between the dosimeter and lead plate is 20 Cm, the average value of 10 dosimeters was 0.075 mSv, which shows reductive effect of dose as much as 0.221 mSv. As we check the cumulative dosage for 3 days, the lead apron without air layer shows average 0.239 mSv, and the air gap apron shows 0.176 mSv, which is actually reduced by 0.062 mSv. As we check the cumulative dosage for a month, the lead apron without air layer shows 0.59 mSv, and the air gap apron shows 0.54 mSv, which is reduced by 0.05 mSv.
Dosimerty based on electron spin resonance (ESR) analysis of radiation induced free radicals in amino acids is relevant to biological dosimetry applications. Alanine detectors are without walls and are tissue equivalent. Therefore, alanine ESR dosimetry looks promising for use in the therapy level. The dose range of the alanine/ESR dosimetry system can be extended down to 1 Gy. In water phantom the absorbed dose of electrons generated by a medical linear accelerator of different initial energies $(6\~21MeV)$ and therapeutic dose levels (1~60 Gy) was measured. Furthermore, depth dose measurements carried out with alanine dosimeters were compared with ionization chamber measurements. As the results, the measured absorbed doses for shallow depth of initial electron energies above 15 MeV were higher by$2\~5\%$ than those calculated by nominal energy $C_E$ factors. This seems to be caused by low energy scattered beams generated from the scattering foil and electron cones of beam projecting device in medical linear accelerator.
We measured the absorbed dose and the area dose using an ionization chamber type of area dose product (DAP) meter and measured the calibration factor in the X-ray examination. In the indirect dose measurement method, the detector was installed in the radiation part of the X-ray equipment, and the measured value was calculated as the dose at the exposure part. The instrument used to calculate the calibration factor was an X-ray equipment (DK-550R / F, DongKang Medical Co., Ltd., Seoul, Korea). The calibration method for the calibration factor was to connect the DAP meter (PD-8100, Toreck Co. Ltd., Japan) to the calibration dosimeter tube voltage of 70 kV, tube current of 500 mA, 0.158 sec. The reference dosimeter used a semiconductor (DOSIMAX plus A, Scanditronix, $Wellh{\ddot{o}}fer$, Germany). After installing the DAP meter on the front of the multi-collimator of the ionization chamber, the calibration factor of the dosimeter was obtained using the reference dosimeter for accurate dose measurement. Experimental exposure values and values from the calibration dosimeter were calculated by multiplying each calibration factor. The calibration factor was calculated as 1.045. In order to calculate the calibration coefficient according to the tube voltage in the ionization type DAP dosimeter, the absorbed dose and the area dose were calculated and the calibration factor was calculated. The corrective area dose was calculated by calculating the calibration factor of the DAP meter.

ICRP recommended that cosmic ray exposure to the pilot and cabin crew would be considered as an occupational exposure due to their relatively high exposure. Since 2012 with the Act No. 10908 (Natural radiation management), the guideline of cosmic ray exposure to the pilot was established in Korea. The applicability of the solid-state nuclear track detector for personal dose assessment of pilot and cabin crew was evaluated. Dose linearity and angle dependence of dosimeters to the neutron were evaluated by $^{252}Cf$ neutron emitting source. The track density has a good agreement with the dose ($r^2$=0.99) and highly dependent on the degree of an angular of the dosimeter to the neutron source. In addition, the dosimeters (SSNTD) were exposed to cosmic ray in an aircraft during its cruising for more than two months in collaboration with Airline Pilots Association of Korea. Although the correlation between the track density from aircraft cruising altitude and expected neutron dose is low, however RSNS dosimeter could be used for personal neutron dosimeter. For application of RSNS as a personal dosimeter for pilot and cabin crew, additional studies are required.
This paper presents the results of the first intercomparison exercise performed by the Korea retrospective dosimetry (KREDOS) working group using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. The intercomparison employed the alanine dosimeter, which is commonly used as the standard dosimeter in EPR methods. Four laboratories participated in the dose assessment of blind samples, and one laboratory carried out irradiation of blind samples. Two types of alanine dosimeters (Bruker and Magnettech) with different geometries were used. Both dosimeters were blindly irradiated at three dose levels (0.60, 2.70, and 8.00 Gy) and four samples per dose were distributed to the participating laboratories. Assessments of blind doses by the laboratories were performed using their own measurement protocols. One laboratory did not participate in the measurements of Magnettech alanine dosimeter samples. Intercomparison results were analyzed by calculating the relative bias, En value, and z-score. The results reported by participating laboratories were overall satisfactory for doses of 2.70 and 8.00 Gy but were considerably overestimated with a relative bias range of 10-95% for 0.60 Gy, which is lower than the minimum detectable dose (MDD) of the alanine dosimeter. After the first intercomparison, participating laboratories are working to improve their alanine-EPR dosimetry systems through continuous meetings and are preparing a second intercomparison exercise for other materials.
In intracavitary radiotherapy, it is essential to verify the correct location of radiation source among quality control items because an incorrect location will irradiate an unnecessary dose to normal tissues. As a basic study of digital line dosimeters, this study fabricated a unit cell dosimeter based on polycrystalline mercury (II) iodide (HgI2) and compared its performance with a diode. The study result showed that for reproducibility, the relative standard deviation (RSD) was 1.21%, satisfying the RSD evaluation criterion of within 1.5%. Considering linearity, the coefficient of determination R2 showed an excellent result of 0.9997. Regarding the evaluation of distance dependence, it showed a similar trend in general with a difference of 0.035 cm for intensity 50% when compared with the inverse square value. This study suggests the applicability of a digital dosimeter for brachytherapy quality control by evaluating the performance of the HgI2 dosimeter. This study on dosimeter for candidate photoconductor materials can be used as basic data in all areas using radiation.
In brachytherapy, a radiation source is inserted into the body to kill tumor tissue. Therefore, it is important to accurately measure the location of the source and the dose distribution. In this study, a dosimeter that can be used for brachytherapy was developed using CsPbBr3 which is cheaper than the existing detector materials and has a simpler manufacturing process. The CsPbBr3 dosimeter performance was evaluated by analyzing reproducibility, linearity, and distance dependence in 192Ir source. As a result of reproducibility evaluation, the RSD was 1.36%, which satisfies the standard value of 1.5%. As a result of the linearity evaluation, the R2 value was 0.9993, which satisfies the standard R2 of 0.9990. The distance dependence evaluation showed a signal value that decreased exponentially as the distance increased. The evaluation results show that the CsPbBr3 dosimeter satisfies the evaluation criteria and can be used as a brachytherapy quality assurance dosimeter.
