  • A size-biased Poisson distribution is defined. Its characterization by using a recurrence relation for first order negative moment of the distribution is obtained. Different estimation methods for the parameter of the model are also discussed. R-Software has been used for making a comparison among the three different estimation methods.

  • This paper presents the implementation procedure of encoding and decoding algorithms for Tornado code that can provide fault tolerance for storage and transmission system. The degree distribution satisfying heavy tail distribution is produced. Based on this distribution, a good random irregular bipartite graph is attained after plenty of trails. Such graph construction is proved to be efficient, and the experiments also demonstrate that the implementation obtains good performance in terms of decoding overhead.

  • This paper is studied an efficient temperature distribution and heat transfer of two-dimensional rectangular cross-section by the higher-order triangular finite dynamic element and finite difference. This is achieved by employing a discretization technique based on a recently developed concept of finite dynamic elements, involving higher order dynamic correction terms in the associated stiffness and convection matrices. Numerical solution results of temperature distribution presented herein clearly optimum element and show that FEM10 is the most accurate temperature distribution, but heat transfer and computational effort is the most acquired.

  • We considered a change-point hazard rate model generalizing constant hazard rate model. This type of model is very popular in the sense that the Weibull and exponential distributions formulating survival time data are the special cases of it. Maximum likelihood estimation and the asymptotic properties such as the consistency and its limiting distribution of the change-point estimator were discussed. A parametric bootstrap method for finding confidence intervals of the unknown change-point was also suggested and the proposed method is explained through a practical example.

  • For multiply Type-II censored samples from two-parameter Rayleigh distribution, the maximum likelihood method does not admit explicit solutions. In this case, we propose some explicit estimators of the location and scale parameters in the Rayleigh distribution by the approximate maximum likelihood methods. We compare the proposed estimators in the sense of the mean squared error for various censored samples.

  • It is wellknown that the left truncated exponential distribution with positivity constraint on the location parameter is appropriate as a lifetime distribution model, In this paper, some Bayes estimators of the parameters and reliability for the left truncated exponential lifetime distribution when an unidentified-failure outlier is included and it is excluded in the exchangeable outlier model are proposed, and the performances of these proposed Bayes estimators are also discussed.

  • We discussed a comparison of distribution-free two-sample procedures based on placements or ranks. Iterative asymptotic distribution of both two-sample procedures is studies and small sample Monte Carlo simulation results are presented. Also, we proposed the Hodges-Lehmann type location estimator based on linear placement statistics.

  • In this paper, we discuss about a generalization of the Key Distribution Pattern which was proposed by C. Mitchell and F. Piper[6]. It is allowing secure communication between every n-pair of users($n\leq2$) in a large network for reducing storage requirements. We further suggest a generalization of K. Quinn's bounds in [9] for the number of subkeys in such general Key Distribution Patterns.

  • In this paper Bayes estimator of the parameter and reliability function of the zero-truncated Poisson distribution are obtained. Furthermore, recurrence relations for the estimator of the parameter are also derived. Monte Carlo simulation technique has been made for comparing the Bayes estimator and reliability function with the corresponding maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) of zero-truncated Poisson distribution.
