  • A new composite method of finite element and boundary integral methods is presented to solve the two dimensional magnetostatic field problems with open boundary. The method can deal with the current source of the boundary integral regin where the boundary integral method is applied, and also Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions at the interfacial boundary between the boundary integral region and the finite element region where the finite element method is applied. The new approach has been applied to a simple linear problem to verify the usefulness. It is shown that the proposed algorithm gives more accurate results than the finite element methed under the same elementdiscretization.

  • Some nonlocal boundary value problems which arise from a feedback control problem are considered. We give a precise statement of the mathematical problems and then prove the existence and uniqueness of the solutions. We consider the Dirichlet type boundary value problem and the Neumann type boundary value problem with nonlinear boundary conditions. We also provide a regularity results for the solutions.

  • Sufficient understanding of oversea construction market status is crucial to get profitability in the international construction project. Plenty of researchers have been considering the news article as a fine data source for figuring out the market condition, since the data includes market information such as political, economic, and social issue. Since the text data exists in unstructured format with huge size, various text-mining techniques were studied to reduce the unnecessary manpower, time, and cost to summarize the data. However, there are some limitations to extract the needed information from the news article because of the existence of various topics in the data. This research is aimed to overcome the problems and contribute to summarization of market status by performing topic modeling with Latent Dirichlet Allocation. With assuming that 10 topics existed in the corpus, the topics included projects for user convenience (topic-2), private supports to solve poverty problems in Africa (topic-4), and so on. By grouping the topics in the news articles, the results could improve extracting useful information and summarizing the market status.

  • With the accuracy of the nonlinearity guaranteed, plenty of time and large memory space are needed when we solve the finite element numerical solution of nonlinear partial differential equations. In this paper, we use the Group Element Method (GEM) to deal with the non-linearity of the BBM-Burgers Equation with Conservation form and perform a numerical analysis for two particular initial-boundary value (the Dirichlet boundary conditions and Neumann-Dirichlet boundary conditions) problems with the Finite Element Method (FEM). Some numerical experiments are performed to analyze the error between the exact solution and the FEM solution in MATLAB.

  • We apply a full mutigrid scheme to computing eigenvalues of the Laplace eigenvalue problem with Dirichlet boundary condition. We use finite difference method to get an algebraic equation and apply inverse power method to estimating the smallest eigenvalue. Our result shows that combined method of inverse power method and full multigrid scheme is very effective in calculating eigenvalue of the eigenvalue problem.

  • We study Bayesian estimates for finite population proportions in multinomial problems. To do this, we consider a three-stage hierarchical Bayesian model. For prior, we use Dirichlet density to model each cell probability in each cluster. Our method does not require complicated computation such as Metropolis-Hastings algorithm to draw samples from each density of parameters. We draw samples using Gibbs sampler with grid method. We apply this algorithm to a couple of simulation data under three scenarios and we estimate the finite population proportions using two kinds of approaches We compare results with the point estimates of finite population proportions and their standard deviations. Finally, we check the consistency of computation using differen samples drawn from distinct iterates.

  • Dirichlet boundary value problems originated from unsteady deep water wave propagation are transformed to Boundary Intergral Equation Methods by use of a free surface Green's function and the integral equations are discretized by a cubic spline element method. In order to enhance the stability of the numerical model based on the derived Fredholm integral equation of 1 st kind, the method by Hsiao and MacCamy (1973) is employed. The numerical model is tested against exact solutions for two cases and the model shows very good accuracy.

  • Variational method has played an important role in solving problems of uniqueness and existence of the nonlinear works as well as analysis. It will also be extremely useful for researchers in all branches of natural sciences and engineers working with non-linear equations economy, optimization, game theory and medicine. Recently, the existence of infinitely many weak solutions for some non-local problems of Kirchhoff type with Dirichlet boundary condition are studied [14]. Here, a suitable method is presented to treat the elliptic partial derivative equations, especially (p(x), q(x))-Laplacian-like systems. This kind of equations are used in the study of fluid flow, diffusive transport akin to diffusion, rheology, probability, electrical networks, etc. Here, the existence of infinitely many weak solutions for some boundary value problems involving the (p(x), q(x))-Laplacian-like operators is proved. The method is based on variational methods and critical point theory.
