안테나 다이버시티를 이용한 PN 코드 획득 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of PN Code Acquisition with Antenna Diversity)

  • 본 본문에서는 Code division multiple access (CDMA) 사용자와 협대역 사용자가 동일 주파수 대역에 존재하는 곳에서 direct sequence/CDMA (DS/CDMA) 오버레이 시스템에 대해 pseudorandom noise (PN) 코드 획득 성능 상의 안테나 다이버시티의 효과가 분석되고 시뮬레이션 되었다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 안테나 다이버시티가 PN 획득 성능에 매우 효과적임을 보인다. 이 논문의 결과는 DS/CDMA 오버레이 환경에서 동기 구조의 설계에 적용될 수 있다.

An Analysis on the State-Dependent Nature of DS/SSMA Unslotted ALOHA

  • In this paper, we present a novel approach to analyze the throughput of direct-sequence spread spectrum multiple access (DS/SSMA) unslotted ALOHA system. In the unslotted system, the departure rate of interfering transmissions is proportional to the number of current interferers that can be regarded as the system state. In order to model this state-dependency, we introduce a two-dimensional state transition model that describes the state transition of the system. This model provides a more rigorous analysis tool for the DS/SSMA unslotted ALOHA systems with both fixed and variable packet lengths. Numerical results reveal that this analysis yields an accurate system performance that coincides with the simulation results. Throughout the analysis we have discovered that the state-dependency of the departure rate causes interference averaging effect in the unslotted system and that this effect yields a higher throughput for the unslotted system than for the slotted system when supported by a strong channel coding.

  • The pattern recognition of automobile and parking line for the automatic car parking system was processed based on statistical method for reducing the processing time. The command of driving for parking at the vacant parking lot was transmitted from processor to motor driven actuator using direct sequence spread spectrum communication, which enables the multiple transmission in CAN(controller area network). The test-bed which has CCD camera, processor, radio transceiver and FPGA was implemented and demonstrated to be operated well.

  • This paper analyzes matched-filter acquistion performance of a direct-sequence spread-specturm multiple-access system in a Rayleigh fading channel. For an application of multiple access system, multiple access interference is considered in the performance analysis. A signal flow graph technique is used to derive mean acquisition time in terms of detection and false alarm probabilities. As aresult of performance analysis, it is shown that mean acquisition time increases as fading rate becomes faster andthe numbre of users increases, and it decreases as a matched-filter length becomes logner. The variation of parameter values hs much influence on acquisition performance as SNR/chip becomes smaller.

  • A noncoherent full-digital PN(pseudo noise) code acquisition/tracking loop has been presetned and implemented in FPGA for the CDMA band-limited direct-sequence spread-spectrum (DS-SS) signals. It employs a simple decimator to control of local PN code phase to lower the hardware cost, and a second order loop to enable the more accurate tracking. The proposed acquisition/tracking loop has been designed in RTL-level VHDL, synthesized into logic gates using the design analyzer of synopsys software, implemented in an ALTERA FPGA chip, and tested. The number of logic gates used in the implemented FPGA chip is around 7000. The functionality has been verified using a PC interface circuitry and a logic analyzer.

  • In this paper, we discuss recovery schemes for errors occurring when image data encoded with variable length coding (VLC) is transmitted through additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and multiple-access interference in direct sequence code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) systems. VLC such as JPEG is so sensitive to channel errors that severe degradation in decoded images occurs even if only one or two bits have errors. This is due to the loss of synchronization at the image decoder. We propose a resynchronization scheme using a power allocation method in wireless DS/CDMA transmission. Through simulation, we know that the proposed method has a more robust resynchronization capability and higher objective and subjective quality than the conventional method.

  • In tis paper, w eproposed a modeling for direct-sequence spread communication base band modem in RT-level VHDL and implemented in a one-chip VLSI and tested. The transmitter modulates with DQPSK modulation method and spreads a modulated signal with 32-bit PN code into 1.152MHz. The receiver de-spreads a signal using 32-tap matched filter and recovers with DQPSK demodulation method. The digital frequency synthesizer generates the sine signal and the cosine signal of 2.304MHz with ROM tables in the size of 7$\^$*/256 and 6$\^$*/256, respectively. The implemented VLSI has been verified a BER with 10$\^$-4/ at E$\_$b//N$\_$o/ of 13dB with a SPW fixed design model and fabricated in the 0.8.mu.m KG6423 gate array with a VHDL model.

  • 다반송파 변조방식,또는 직교 주파수 분할 다중업속 방식은 적응등화기를 사용하기 않으면서도 다중간섭제거 능력이 탁월하다고 알려졌다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 MC DS-CDMA/MPSK와 DS-CDMA/MPSK를 적용하여, 나카가미 감쇄 채널 환경에서 오율 특성을 분석하였다. 그 결과 동일한 대역폭에서는 반송주파가 증가함에 따라 처리이득이 커지므로 DS-CDMA/MPSK 신호보다 MC DS-CDMA/MPSK 신호가 오율 특성이 우수함을 알 수 있다.

  • The performance of tau-dither loop (TDL) is evaluated for a direct-sequence spread-spectrum system in a multipath fading channel. The multipath fading channel is modeled as a two-ray rayleight fading channel. The code tracking perfomrance of TDL is analyzed in terms of tracking jitter and mean-tiem-to-lose-lick (MTLL). The tracking jitter performance is degraded while MTLL perfomrance is improved with increasing discriminator offset and decreasing power ratio of main to second paths. It is shown that for a large bit SNR, the effect of multipath fading becomes more significant. And it is also shown that tracking jitter and MTLL performance is less sensitive to delay spacing and discriminator offset for a small bit SNR than for a large bit SNR.

  • In this paper, in order to effectively apply unitary space-time modulation to the direct-sequence spread-spectrum multiple-access (DSSS-MA) networks, we propose a low-rate, noncoherent, unitary, and space-time modulated DSSS system supporting any number of transmit antennas based on Walsh matrices. The proposed scheme simultaneously performs bandwidth spreading and space-time coding and outperforms those using high-rate, conventional unitary space-time constellations. Furthermore, the proposed scheme allows for a simple detector structure based on fast Walsh transforms.
