The response characteristics of one to one resonance on the quadrangle cantilever beam in which basic harmonic excitations are applied by nonlinear coupled differential-integral equations are studied. This equations have 3-dimensional non-linearity of nonlinear inertia and nonlinear curvature. Galerkin and multi scale methods are used for theoretical approach to one-to-one internal resonance. Nonlinear response characteristics of 1st, 2nd, 3rd modes are measured from the experiment for basic harmonic excitation. From the experimental result, geometrical terms of non-linearity display light spring effect and these terms play an important role in the response characteristics of low frequency modes. Nonlinear nitration in the out of plane are also studied.

This paper deals with the non contact optical sensor to measure the shape of transparent plates such as glass panel of LCD(Liquid Crystal Display). The conventional methods to obtain the shape or thickness of a transparent plates are contact type sensor such as LVOT(Linear Variable Differential Transformer). Due to the contact between the tip of the sensor and the surface of objects, the tip is abraded. In addition, the high temperature glass casting makes the size of sensor body changed. These reasons makes the sensor degraded. In this paper, to overcome these problem, we proposed a low cost noncontact optical sensor this is composed of the Hologram laser unit of a CD-Pickup and a plastic lens. To evaluate the performance of the proposed optical sensor, a series of experiments were performed for various measurement condition. Based upon observation of the experimental result, the developed sensor shows good result for measuring the shape of transparent plates.

Macroalgal tissues can be used as indicating materials for environmental assessment using several algal biotechnology techniques. As bioassay test organisms, macroalgal tissues are required as an axenic state for suitable biological indicators. Callus formation and blade regeneration under suitable culture conditions are also useful for the tests. Quantitative method using tetrazolium chloride or $alamarBlue^{TM}$ is devised on a rapid assessment of the seaweed viability. The use of RT-PCR especially differential display technique should provide the means for the detection and isolation of the responding genes induced by the environmental stress. Seaweed thriving in more environmental changes might contain more diverse biologically active substances.

Differential display of reverse transcription(DDRT)-PCR was conducted to have a profile of the differentially expressed genes during the formation of fruiting body of Lentinus edodes. The lines of L. edodes(ImHyup-1) employed were cultivated in the artificial blocks of sawdust, and the fruiting body was induced from the mycelia or the mass protruded from the brown surface of the sawdust blocks. RNAs were prepared from the four different developmental stages; mycelial, primordial, and stipes and pileus of fruiting body. The fragments of cDNA were synthesized from the combinations of the arbitrary primers and 3' one anchored Oligo-dT primer. Twelve combinations using the primers have been tested, and among them nineteen bands were identified as differentially expressed. Those genes were further analyzed by DNA sequencing and followed by homology search. Characterization of one clone was conducted as a preliminary data and more are under investigation.

박강판의 내부에 존재하는 개재물성 결함을 검사하기 위해 누설자속법을 이용하여 탐상하는 시스템을 개발하였다. 연자성 코어의 보자력을 이용한 차등형 플럭스게이트 자력계를 제작하였다. FEM 소프트웨어를 이용하여 전자석을 설계하였으며, 3축 이동이 가능한 누설자속탐상장치를 제작하여 냉연강판을 검사한 결과 개재물성 결함을 검사학 수 있음을 알았다. 누설자속값을 디지털화하여 2차원 이미지로 처리한 결과 냉연강판에 존재하는 개재물성 결함 이외의 결함을 일부 구분할 수 있음을 알았다.

In this paper, we consider a discrete predator-prey system with Watt-type functional response and impulsive controls. First, we find sufficient conditions for stability of a prey-free positive periodic solution of the system by using the Floquet theory and then prove the boundedness of the system. In addition, a condition for the permanence of the system is also obtained. Finally, we illustrate some numerical examples to substantiate our theoretical results, and display bifurcation diagrams and trajectories of some solutions of the system via numerical simulations, which show that impulsive controls can give rise to various kinds of dynamic behaviors.

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), plays a key role in angiogenesis. Many endogenous factors can affect angiogenesis in endothelial cells. VEGF is known to be a strong migration, sprouting, survival, and proliferation factor for endothelial cells during angiogenesis in endothelial cells. Searching for novel genes involved in VEGF signaling during angiogenesis, we carried out differential display polymerase chain reaction on RNA from VEGF-stimulated human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). In this study, follistatin (FS) differentially expressed in VEGF-treated HUVECs, compared with controls. Addition of VEGF (10ng/L) produced an approximately 11.8-fold increase of FS mRNA. F5 or VEGF produced approximately 1.8- or 2.9-fold increases, respectively, in matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) secretion for 12h, compared to the addition of a control buffer. We suggest that VEGF may affect the angiogenic effect of HUVECs, through a combination of the direct effects of VEGF itself, and the indirect effects mediated via induction of FS in vitro.

Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VREFM) is becoming a threatening pathogen. We identified a gene called DD1.5K by differential display-PCR, which was preferentially expressed in the bloodstream isolates of VREFM. Due to its amino acid similarity to transfer complex protein, trsE, and tissue-specific expression, this gene may be involved in virulence of VREFM.

본 연구에서는 GPS의 항법 차원에서의 제한사항 및 문제점들을 해군 실무를 기준으로 도출하고, 장래 GPS의 발전에 따른 항법 발전 방안에 대하여 논의해 보고자 한다. 이를 위해, 해군 함정에 설치된 GPS의 정밀도를 분석 및 확인해 보기 위하여 오차시험을 실시하였고, 사용자가 갖는 GPS에 대한 신뢰도와 그 활용도를 알아보기 위하여 함정근무 장교 및 부사관을 대상으로 한 면담 및 설문 조사를 실시하였다.
