Strategic Model Design based on Core Competencies for Innovation in Engineering Education

  • As the direction of education in the fourth industry in the 21st century, convergence talent education that emphasizes the connection and convergence between core competency-based education and academia is emerging to foster creative talent. The purpose of this paper is to present the criteria for evaluating the competency of learning outcomes in order to develop a strategic model for innovation in engineering teaching-learning. In this paper, as a study to establish the direction of implementation of convergence talent education, a creative innovation teaching method support system was established to improve the quality of convergence talent education. Firstly, a plan to develop a teaching-learning model based on computing thinking. Secondly, it presented the development of a teaching-learning model based on linkage and convergence learning. Thirdly, we would like to present educational appropriateness and ease based on convergence learning in connection with curriculum improvement strategies based on computing thinking skills. Finally, we would like to present a strategic model development plan for innovation in engineering teaching-learning that applies the convergence talent education program.

모바일 기기 기반의 이러닝 콘텐츠 품질관리 평가 기준 개발 (Development of Quality Assurance Criteria for Mobile Device Based e-learning Contents)

  • A wide variety of contents are now provided along with the development of information appliances. The purpose of this study was to examine what should be considered to boost the quality of mobile device based e-learning contents. For this study, 12 evaluation domains and 26 evaluation items were selected using the Delphi method. The factors to be considered for mobile device based e-learning contents quality are summarized 4 factor. In other words, for the purpose of managing the quality of mobile device based e-learning contents, there exist four areas to be considered, 'foundation', 'contents', 'teaching design' and 'technology.' The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the improvement of the quality of the educational contents.

Scoping Review of Machine Learning and Deep Learning Algorithm Applications in Veterinary Clinics: Situation Analysis and Suggestions for Further Studies

  • Machine learning and deep learning (ML/DL) algorithms have been successfully applied in medical practice. However, their application in veterinary medicine is relatively limited, possibly due to a lack in the quantity and quality of relevant research. Because the potential demands for ML/DL applications in veterinary clinics are significant, it is important to note the current gaps in the literature and explore the possible directions for advancement in this field. Thus, a scoping review was conducted as a situation analysis. We developed a search strategy following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. PubMed and Embase databases were used in the initial search. The identified items were screened based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Information regarding model development, quality of validation, and model performance was extracted from the included studies. The current review found 55 studies that passed the criteria. In terms of target animals, the number of studies on industrial animals was similar to that on companion animals. Quantitative scarcity of prediction studies (n = 11, including duplications) was revealed in both industrial and non-industrial animal studies compared to diagnostic studies (n = 45, including duplications). Qualitative limitations were also identified, especially regarding validation methodologies. Considering these gaps in the literature, future studies examining the prediction and validation processes, which employ a prospective and multi-center approach, are highly recommended. Veterinary practitioners should acknowledge the current limitations in this field and adopt a receptive and critical attitude towards these new technologies to avoid their abuse.

  • This study presents the development of predictive models for uplift capacity of suction caisson in clay using an artificial intelligence technique, extreme learning machine (ELM). Other artificial intelligence models like artificial neural network (ANN), support vector machine (SVM), relevance vector machine (RVM) models are also developed to compare the ELM model with above models and available numerical models in terms of different statistical criteria. A ranking system is presented to evaluate present models in identifying the 'best' model. Sensitivity analyses are made to identify important inputs contributing to the developed models.

  • 사이버학습에서 사이버교사는 학생들과의 다양한 활동을 통해 학습을 지원하고 안내하는 역할을 담당한다. 따라서 사이버교사의 만족도를 높이는 것은 사이버학습의 효과를 높이는 데 기여하게 될 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 초중등 사이버학습에 참여하는 교사들의 만족도를 평가할 수 있는 평가 준거를 개발하고, 만족도에 영향을 미치는 변인을 분석하였다. 사이버교사 만족도 평가 준거는 내용타당도를 확보하였고, SPSS 및 AMOS를 이용하여 문항분석 및 평가 준거 요인의 적합도 지수 분석 등을 토대로 최종적으로 5개 요인에서 20개의 문항을 확정하였다.

초등수학영재를 위한 교수학습 자료 개발 및 적용 (Development and Application of Teaching and Learning Materials for Gifted Students in Elementary School)

  • This study analyzes the characteristics of elementary math gifted classes through the development and application of teaching and learning materials. We used the guided reinvention methods including quasi-experiential perspectives. To this end, the applicability of Lakatos' quasi-empirical mathematical philosophy in elementary mathematics was examined, and the criteria for the development of teaching and learning materials for gifted students were presented, and then this study was conducted in this theoretical background. The subjects of the study were 21 elementary students at P University's Institute of Science and Gifted Education, and non-face-to-face real-time classes were conducted. Classes were divided into introduction, deployment1, deployment2, organization stages, and in each stage, small group cooperative learning was conducted based on group activities, and in this process, the characteristics of elementary mathematics gifted were analyzed. As a result of the study, elementary mathematics gifted students did not clearly present the essence of justification in the addition algorithm of fractions, but presented various interpretations of 'wrong' mathematics. They also showed their ingenuity in the process of spontaneously developing 'wrong' mathematics. On the other hand, by taking interest in new mathematics starting from 'wrong' mathematics, negative perceptions about it could be improved positively. It is expected that the development of teaching and learning materials dealing with various and original topics for the gifted students in elementary school will proceed through follow-up research.

융합시대의 이러닝 콘텐츠 개발대가 산정 가이드라인의 실효성에 관한 인식 연구 (A Study on Awareness to Effectiveness of the Cost Estimation Guidelines for e-Learning Content Development in Era of Convergence)

  • 본 연구 목적은 이러닝 콘텐츠 개발 대가 산정 가이드라인 활용 활성화 정책의 근거를 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 이러닝 콘텐츠 개발 대가 산정 가이드라인(대가기준과 혼용)의 실효성에 대한 산업계 임직원들에 대한 설문 등을 통해 조사하고 이를 통계적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 콘텐츠 사업 수주후 손실을 본 경험 기업과 수주를 포기한 경험 기업 등이 대가기준의 실효성에 대해 상대적으로 부정적인 인식을 가지고 있다. 그런가 하면 콘텐츠 전문기업은 대가기준의 실효성에 대해 상대적으로 긍정적인 인식을 가지고 있다. 결론적으로, 본 연구는 이러닝 콘텐츠 개발대가 산정기준(가이드라인)이 권고, 제정 고시를 넘어 수발주 현장에 정착되고 나아가 이러닝 산업 발전에 큰 기여토록 하는 제도적 장치를 정부가 가능한 한 빨리 마련할 것을 권고하였다.

지속가능한 에너지 관리를 위한 학교 에너지 생태 감사 평가 방안 개발 연구 (A Study on Energy Eco-Audit Evaluation Scheme at Schools for Sustainable Energy Management)

  • The purpose of this study is to develope energy eco-audit evaluation scheme for the sustainable energy management at schools in accordance with education for sustainable development. Energy eco-audit evaluation scheme was developed through critical review of preexisting evaluation methods, consensus searching for the process from field. The results of this study are as follows. The school energy eco-audit evaluation scheme has three criteria: data collection, energy program, and environmental review. First, criteria of data collection includes general affairs, school building construction, and energy use. Second, criteria of energy program stresses school administration system such as the democratic decision-making process and structures. Third, criteria of environmental review includes reporting process and preparing teaching/learning materials for sustainable energy management. In conclusion, school energy eco-audit evaluation scheme could find a new way to achieve extended effect for sustainable energy management in school. It also could continue to seek opportunities to raise their awareness of energy issue and environment. School committee and whole school are involved to continue to implement present action plan and prepare updated plan in order to reduce environmental impact in school. By doing so, it would be possible to play important role in both school administration and education for sustainable development.

중등 과학교사의 수업 실행 전문성의 발달과 학습 틀 (A Framework for Progression in the Professional Development and Learning of Secondary Science Teachers' Teaching Practice)

  • 본 연구는 중등 과학교사의 수업 실행 전문성의 발달과 학습 틀을 개발하고 적용하는데 그 목적이 있다. 우필희의 틀(2010)을 수정, 보완하여 중등 과학교사의 수업실행 전문성의 발달과 학습 틀을 개발하였다. 과학수업 전문성 6개 요소, 36개 관점에 대한 발달과 학습 수준은 다섯 수준의 준거로 구성되어 있으며. 발달 틀의 내용타당도는 96.4%, 신뢰도는 .96이다. 학습 틀의 내용타당도는 96.0%, 신뢰도는 .95이었다. 중등 과학교사 203명의 수업 실행 전문성의 발달 수준과 학습 수준은 2.21과 2.95이었으며, 대부분의 교사는 전문성의 발달수준과 학습 수준 모두 4 수준 미만의 낮은 상태에 있었다. 발달 수준은 교사의 성별, 경력, 학교, 전공과목, 학력에 따라 모두 유의미한 차이가 있었지만, 학습 수준은 경력을 제외하고 모두 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 발달 수준과 학습 수준은 상관관계가 있었다. 이상과 같이 개발된 틀은 중등 과학교사 개인이나 학교 단위에서 교사의 수업 실행 전문성의 발달 수준과 학습 수준을 파악하고 그 수준을 향상시키기 위한 방법의 결정이나 계획의 수립 및 그 개선을 평가하는데 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

2007년 개정 수학과 교육과정에 따른 선택과목 교과서의 수학교사 체감난이도 분석 (The analysis of sensed difficulty on the selective tracks textbooks based on 2007 revised mathematics curriculum)

  • The goal of the textbooks of 2009 revised curriculum is to make customized lectures possible considering learning characteristics and understanding level of students. However, it is not easy to find a research result on sensed difficulty of the mathematics textbook, which is able to provide valuable information on the development of the diverse level textbooks. This research suggested criteria in analysing sensed difficulties of field teachers on the textbooks, and analysed sensory difficulty on the selective tracks textbooks based on 2007 revised mathematics curriculum using the criteria. The results of the analysis on 59 mathematics selective tracks textbooks show that all have average sensed difficulty. The criteria and research results are expected to provide valuable information in future mathematics textbook development.
