  • In recent years, shipping at the sea has been rapidly grown in marine nations and vessel's collisions are increasing as well. The collision avoidance is one of issues maritime safety. To reduce vessels' collisions, the fuzzy inference system is one of popular algorithms for collision avoidance. In this paper we aim to implement Matlab. Fuzzy logic toolbox software for collision avoidance algorithm. For this we used an original Matlab fuzzy logic toolbox and customized the toolbox for the collision avoidance algorithm.

  • Recently, the development of Artificial Intelligence(AI) and Expert System has caused some interest in the possibility of developing an intelligent CAD system. However, these development and possibility are in an extremenly early stage for Architectural design. In this study, the design process of Residence being recognized as a Constraints-satisfied model, a part of these constraints used in the Architectural design of Residence are being systematized and sorted by the design process. Those regulations and planning items to be considered in the basic planning stage are being systematized as a knowledge base system. The possibility of this knowledge-based system as an effective design tool is studied and an integrated form of Architectural design system is proposed.

  • Expert system is one of AI area. It simulates the human's way of thinking to give solutions of problem in many applications. Most expert system consists of many components such as inference engine, knowledge base, and so on. Especially the performance of expert system depend on the control of efficiency of inference engine. Inference engine has to get features; first, if possible to minimize restrictions when it constructed the knowledge base. second, it has to serve various kinds of inferencing methods. In this paper we propose knowledge scheme for representing domain knowledge in ease, knowledge implementation technique for inferencing, and integrated knowledge-base engine with blackboard and inference engine. And we describe a expert system prototype that implemented in this paper using proposed methods, it perform diagnose about heavy industrial device. The fault diagnosis system prototype has been studied in this paper will be practical foundation in the research area of knowledge based system.

  • In this paper, we design and implement educational system by using active database technique in www environments. The developed system consists of three modules such as user group interface, active-based monitor, and expert group interface. The roles of each module are summarized as follows. The user group interface provides with system accessibility the users who registered in the developed system. The active-based monitor, triggering modules, consists of three sub-modules such as keyword parser, exception handler, and DB access module. Also it manages five items such as keyword index, Q&A DB, user group mailing list, and expert group mailing list. The expect group interface provides answer filling form for the expert who registered in the developed system.

  • This study describes an application of a knowledge-based system for a part of the development of an integrated structural design system. In preliminary structural design procedure, most structural design operation are performed by structural engineer's manual method. These lack of systematic operation hampers the effective system integration. By introducing expert system to the structural planning stage, structural engineer can automate structural Planning process of an integrated structural design system for complex design. Engineering data management is receiving increasing attention due to complexity of information necessary for performing structural engineering operations. So, in this paper, we describe a methodology for automating conceptual structural design and developing a knowledge-based system integrated with database. At the end, we use an implemented example to support our methodology.

  • Design of drawing dies used in real industrial environments. It was designed by CAD software in many small & medium companies, but many products require various types, and sizes. Therefore, many companies are required to reduce process time and design mistakes. In this paper, for the automatic design of drawing dies, Design process considered that easy to team and use. which are used with Visual LISP/DCL language in a commercial CAD package, AutoCAD. It has adopted GUI in design system, and has applied DCL language. The system is based on the knowledge base system which is involved a lot of expert's know-how We have built database of design type and detail sizes. The automatic design system requires basic product type and sizes. Then the system accesses to the database and find out sizes by comparing with input parameters and generate drawing dies file.

  • Among the precision reduction gent drivers lot robot system, the cycloid reducer is well known for it's high performances. Designing this reducer, there are many factors which must be considered. First, a geometrical analysis of tooth shape must be drawn from the basic concept. Second, loads, stresses and modification factors on tooth should be calculated exactly. Finally, a computer software to optimize the design of cycloid tooth needs developing on the basis of the geometric and force equations. In this research, the expert system to design the cycloid reducer was developed using Visual C++ so, the most important factors can be obtained automatically as the user put the simple input data.

  • Too many big accidents have been occurring in Korea during '90. Those were accidents of Sung-Soo Bridge in 1994 and Sam-Poong Department Store in 1995. It was confirmed that the causes of the accident were unreliable construction or building. Therefore, in this study are to use technique of virtual reality(VR) simulation in order to prevent construction accidents. To set up the VR in safety construction, Date Base of variables, VR model and expert system are needed. This system is to build expert system, to visualize of the VR system and navigation, and to find out design errors of construction. Therefore, the purpose of this was to analyze accident type of construction, and apply VR system for simulation technique.
