Attitude toward Uniform and Evaluation Criteria toward Uniform according to Individualism-collectivism of Middle and High School Girls (여자 중·고등학생의 개인주의-집단주의에 따른 교복태도와 교복선택기준)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify individualism-collectivism into groups and analyze the difference of attitude toward uniform and evaluation criteria toward uniform. Questionnaires are being administered to 369 middle and high school girls in Deagu province. The Frequency, factor analysis, reliability analysis, cluster analysis, correlation analysis, ANOVA, Duncan-test, and t-test are used for data analysis. Individualism-collectivism factors are found to be other focus, individuality focus, competition consciousness, love of family, and self-esteem. Attitude toward uniform are categorized into fashion pursuit, symbol of role, conformity, color, and neatness. Evaluation criteria toward uniform is categorized into 7 factors: practicality, care, promotion, aesthetics, service, brand focus, and regulation focus. Individualism-collectivism are classify into three groups such as high individualism-collectivism, low individuality, and high individuality. Individualism-collectivism shows a significant correlation with the sub-variable attitude toward uniform and evaluation criteria toward uniform. The groups show a significant difference in the attitude toward uniform and evaluation criteria toward uniform. There is a significant difference among individualism-collectivism, attitude toward uniform, and evaluation criteria toward uniform by the middle and high school girls.

Reliability Evaluation of Thruster Break for Aerogenerator (풍력발전기용 쓰러스터 브레이크의 신뢰성 평가)

  • Thruster break for aerogenerator performs a role that is stopping the rotor in case of emergency such as strong wind, system abnormality or maintenance check. In this study, failure analysis and test evaluation on the thruster break for aerogenerator are proposed, and the entire process to improve reliability of the product through design improvement is presented. The typical failure case is fatigue and wear, and failure cause on these are identified and improvement plan is presented. Lastly, reliability improvement is established to analyse test results before after the life test.

  • This paper describes the development status of rocket engine test facility for the performance evaluation of liquid rocket engine of KSLV-II 1st stage. Design specification and composition of rocket engine test facility are suggested based on the design requirements. The results of the basic design of rocket engine test facility will be used as base data for the detail design and construction of rocket engine ground test facility of KSLV-II 75tonf liquid rocket engine.

  • This paper presents the design and cold flow test results of oxidizer-rich preburner injectors for a 9 tonf-class staged combustion engine cycle. Three types of coaxial swirl injectors were designed, and 12 injectors were designed for each type. The diameters of the fuel tangential holes are identical. The diameters of the oxidizer tangential holes were varied to investigate the influence of combustion in the oxidizer-rich preburner according to the momentum ratio of the gas oxidizer generated from combustion in the injector chamber and liquid oxidizer through the cooling channel. It will be verified through a powerpack and combustion test using an oxidizer-rich preburner. In the cold flow test, the fuel flow rate and oxidizer tangential hole flow rate reached the target value based on the designed differential pressure.

  • With the increasing demand for higher production quality and growing competition in the global market, coordinate measuring machine(CMM) has been widely used in industry to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of measurement. In this paper the performance evaluation of coordinate measuring machine is proposed using design of experiments. A factorial design is applied to carry out the performance test proposed by ISO 10360 with a length bar and to investigate CMM measurement errors associated to orientation and length in the work volume. The determination of the significance of effects in an experiment is made through the analysis of variance(ANOVA). The results show that the proposed method is suitable to analyze the factors which affect the CMM measurement performance.

The Evaluation on the Durability and Safety of Fuel Cyliders for CNG Buses (CNG 버스용 연료용기의 내구안전성 평가)

  • CNG buses were introduced in 2002 to reduce air pollution to the big cities. The durability and safety evaluation were performed for the NGV-2 type cylinders taken from two buses after 30 months of running. No external damage and no internal corrosion was observed on the container surfaces. Defect exceeding the allowable limit was not found in the UT test. Permanent volume expansion was about 1.2% which is much smaller than the required design limit. Cycling test showed no failure after 11,250cycles and burst pressures were still above the maximum design pressure. Both the longitudinal and circumferential failure mode were observed, where both the fracture strengths were far above the design limit. This study showed the present CNG fuel cylinders were safe enough for further usage.

Design Optimization of a Single-Stage Transonic Axial Compressor and Test Evaluation of Its Aerodynamic Performance (1단 천음속 축류압축기의 최적 설계 및 공력 성능 시험 평가)

  • The aerodynamic performance of a single-stage transonic axial compressor was experimentally evaluated by measuring pressure and temperature distribution at the inlet and outlet of the compressor. The compressor was developed by Korea Aerospace Research Institute through multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) method, especially integrating aerodynamic performance and structural stability. The test results show that the pressure ratio is 1.65 and the efficiency is 85.8 % at design point, where the corrected speed is 22,000 rpm and the corrected mass flow rate is 15.4 kg/s, and it has a good agreement with the design target and computational results. The distribution of pressure ratio is very steep at design speed, compared with the trend of other subsonic compressors. Also the static pressure distribution on the stator casing shows that the blade loading is gradually increasing through the stage as designed.

  • Recently "smart clothing" has been developed more friendly and human centered design. As the diversified studies on physical factors such as comfort, usability, ergonomics and design for wearer have been examined, the smart clothing has been progressed in diverse aspects. In this research, we developed the design prototype of the bio-medical sensor based healthcare smart clothing and efficiency of clothing. As a result of study with developed designed prototypes of qualitative and quantitative tests for wearability and usability, we come up with evaluation items and supplements. In this study, based on result from evaluation on wearability and usability, the design prototype of sensor based healthcare smart clothing was revised.

Electrical Power Subsystem Performance Evaluation of the GEO Satellite (정지궤도위성 전력계 성능 평가)

  • The satellite on geostationary orbit accommodates multiple payloads into a single spacecraft platform and launched in June 26, 2010. The Electrical Power Subsystem provides a fully regulated power bus at $50V_{DC}$ in sunlight and eclipse conditions. The electrical power required to the satellite is generated by a solar array wing and the energy is stored by a Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 192.5Ah. This paper selects the main design parameters, compares and analyzes with the results at ground test and in orbit operation to apply this performance evaluation of the Electrical Power Subsystem to next satellite design on geostationary orbit. The Electrical Power Subsystem is demonstrated nominal behavior without significant degradation through the performance evaluation from design to in orbit operation.

  • Recently, specifications of flat display module is going to be higher definition, brightness and more wide viewing angle. On the other hand, physical thickness of those modules is forced to be slimmer and lighter. The flat display modules such as plasma or TFT-LCD employ thin crystallized panels that are normally weak to high level transient mechanical energy inputs. As a result, anti-shock performance is one of the most important design specifications of TFT-LCD modules. TFT-LCD module manufacturers and their customers like PC or TV makers perform a series of strict impact/drop test for the modules. However most of the large display module designs are generated based on engineer's own trial-error experiences. Those designs may result in disqualification from the drop/impact test during final product evaluation. A rigorous study on the impact failure of the displays is of course necessitated in order to avoid the problems. In this article, a systematic design evaluation is presented with combinations of FEM modeling and testing to support the optimal shock proof display design procedure.
