Domestic industry has a long history, but it has been suffering for a long time due to its poor competitiveness in management ability, supply of materials, technological development, sales marketing, and distribution networks. Moreover, the industry has not established its strong presence in the world market but is exposed to increasingly greater agonies because of inactive domestic demands, increase rate of import versus export, diversified government policies, and non-selective introduction of high-quality and low-priced foreign named brands of ceramics into the country. Theses factors have partly contributed to consumers' low or negative recognition.

Milano Fair is the most authoritative event in the world and the most noticeable exhibition for expecting stream of furniture design and future. Companies and designers, who participate in this event, pioneer independent market through the creative and creative products based on their own identity. Their competitiveness in the market comes from the identity of the brands and it is possible when making continuous efforts to make competitiveness by differentiated designs and products. Upright design culture will be made when respecting the value of designers and designs, making the history and tradition and striving for new challenges and pioneerings.

The seismic damage of non-structural components, such as communication facilities, causes direct economic losses as well as indirect losses which result from social chaos occurring with downtime of communication and financial management network systems. The current Korean seismic code, KBC2009, prescribes the design criteria and requirements of non-structural components based on their elastic response. However, it is difficult for KBC to reflect the dynamic characteristics of structures where non-structural components exist. In this study, both linear and nonlinear time history analyses of structures with various analysis parameters were carried out and floor acceleration spectra obtained from analyses were compared with both ground acceleration spectra used for input records of the analyses and the design floor acceleration spectrum proposed by National Radio Research Agency. Also, this study investigates to find out the influence of structural dynamic characteristics on the floor acceleration spectra. The analysis results show that the acceleration amplification is observed due to the resonance phenomenon and such amplification increases with the increase of building heights and with the decrease of structure's energy dissipation capacities.

The Busan branch of the former Toyo Takushoku Co. carried out the same business as a bank at the time of construction. This required an open space of long-span, which had no pillars, on the first floor where many customers frequently visited. In addition, an office space is required in the upper part, and a column is arranged so as to place a corridor in the center. It was designed with modern complex structures for space utilization and structural adaptation. As a result, scientific structural calculations of the modern era began and various structural technologies were introduced, the rationalization and value of various spatial characteristics and their structural design were analyzed from a technical historical perspective in the structure requiring long-span space. The Busan branch of the former Toyo Takushoku Co. is a complex structure with three structures. It is highly valuable as a building that tried to design its structure in a variety of spaces through calculation and introduction of new technology based on the principle of force in modern times.

This study aims at searching the Church Building Type and Design Sources of a German church architect who had designed many churches and other buildings in Korea. P. Alwin Schmid(1904-1978) had designed 188 Catholic buildings in Korea for 20 years from 1958 to 1978. In his works there are many excellent Catholic ritual buildings. It was caused by his conviction on the theology and the principles of Church Architecture. And His remarkable achievement is affected by the works of Dominikus Bom(1880-1955) and Rudolf Schwarz(1897-1961). Alwin's 5 plan type is relevant to Schwarz' iconographic model, and their approach to 'light' is much the same. But the Character of inner space is the middle of Dominikus Bom and Rudolf Schwarz. His works rotted in the Liturgical Movement had been developed in the line of connection with 20th German church architecture. The works of Dominikus Bom and Rudolf Schwarz played the role of the teacher of Alwin Schwarz.

For designers, Chinese characters are featured as its unique cultural connotation and the inheritance of information. In visual designs, the beauty of Bushou in form, especially its potential forms, plays an important role and has been applied in various modern designs. There are analyses focused on radicals' roles, as well as its performance and design principles in modern posters in order to figure out how radicals are inherited and developed in posters. Additionally, these researches are conducted to recognize the cultural values of the visual linguistics of Bushou. In this paper, collating of the history and structure of Chinese characters, along with the history, function, classification and meaning of Bushou has been conducted through the method of literature research. The function of Bushou and its potential visual performance means, as well as the objective laws are summarized by analyzing Bushou posters.

The organization of modern society is suddenly changing from the modern society to the ultra modern informationalized society. Various social members must satisfy cultural and artistic desires to serve museum concept and function to move the informationalized society. A lot of natural history museum in the world build cyber space exhibition lines. Audiences do not directly visit but they view but they view the exhibit, get an education, participate in the cultrue programs and earn the museum's informations. Especially, in the case of national and public museums in Korea, they do not concerned the museum architecture before processing the character and collections of the museum. Cyber museums determine museum character, policy, information, collections converge of opinion voluntary collection and grasp of location, because cyber museum can be finished be4fore the work of the future museum.

Nonlinear dynamic time history analysis of a structure with energy dissipation devices is complicated and time consuming. In this regard the nonlinear static analysis is a practical alternative for evaluating the earthquake resisting capacity of a structure. In this study the nonlinear static response of a structure was obtained first, and the equivalent viscous modal damping ratio required to satisfy the performance objective was computed in the capacity spectrum format. Then proper amount of viscous dampers were installed to provide the required damping. Parametric study has been performed for the period of the structure, yield strength, and the stiffness after the first yield. According to the earthquake time history analysis results, the maximum displacement of the model structure with viscous dampers designed in accordance with the proposed method corresponds well with the target displacements that was used in the beginning of the design process.

In this study a procedure for evaluation of performance point using direct displacement-based design method was developed to enhance the applicability of the method. Parametric study has been performed for the natural period of the structure, yield strength, and the stiffness after the first yield. The proposed method was also applied to a 10-story steel frame. To verify the accuracy of the result, the results from capacity spectrum analysis and time history analysis were compared. The results of the proposed method turned out to match well with the results of capacity spectrum method and the time history analysis.

The purpose of this research is a seismic capacity evaluation and strengthening of existing railway station buildings, which were constructed before the seismic design code activated. The seismic capacity of 2nd story RC station building is evaluated by using nonlinear time-history analysis. Analysis results are checked by story drift ratio and story shear, which are described in design code. As a result, the story shears are exceeding the base shear of the design code, the appropriate seismic strengthening methods are needed. To improve the seismic capacity, metallic dampers are used. Evaluation parameters are metallic damper shape and damper installation methods. Dampers are installed in four places in X and Y directions of station buildings. By reviewing of time-history analysis results, the metallic damper, which is installed inverted K-brace type, shows a better seismic performance than other damper shape and installation methods.
