Vibration Characteristics of the Tower Structure of a 750kW Wind Turbine Generator (750kW 풍력발전기 타워 구조의 진동 특성)

  • Vibration response of the tower structure of a 750kW wind turbine (W/T) generator is investigated by measurement and analysis. Acceleration response of the W/T tower under various operation condition is monitored in real time by the vibration monitoring system using LabVIEW. Resonance state of the tower structure is diagnosed in the operating speed range. Resonance frequency range of the test model is investigated with the wind speed data of the test site. To predict the tower resonance frequency, tower is modeled as an equivalent beam with a lumped mass and Rayleigh energy method is applied. Calculated tower bending frequency is in good agreement with the measured value and the result shows that the simplified model can be used in the design stage of the W/T tower.

  • Electron beam manufacturing system can be used to make patterns that are smaller than can a photolithography. In this system, High voltage generator is a fundamental element for stable beam. We used high voltage with transformer. However, this instrument has several problems (for examples, dimensions, buying parts, simplicity of control circuit). For solving these problems, a commercial product is considered. This is developed for SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope). In this paper, we designed a control circuit for a commercial product and analyzed performance.

Decoupling Controller Design for the JINAMCHA by Using Command Generator Tracker and Eigenstructure Assignment (CGT와 고유구조 지정법을 이용한 지남차의 불연성화 제어기 설계)

  • In this paper, we consider a decoupling control and a servo control for the JINAMCHA of which the cart and the pointer is coupled very strongly. The right eigenstructure assignment(i.e. simultaneous assignment of eigenvalues and right eigenvectors) is used for decoupling the motions of the cart and the pointer. The CGT(Command Generator Tracker) is used for a servo control of the JINAMCHA. The performance of the proposed control scheme, that is the combination of the right eigenstructure assignment and the CGT, is evaluated by simulations. The results show that the proposed controller has better performance than the LQR with limiting properties and the conventional LQ servo.

  • A Problem of low-velocity forced convection in a channel flow with heated wall is of practical importance and widely considered in the design of devices such as heat exchangers, and electronic equipments. Therefore, there is an urgent need for improving heat transfer performance of heated wall in the channel. In the present study, an oscillating vortex generator method is proposed to enhance the heat transfer in a channel. In this method, a rectangular bars are set in the upstream of heated region of the channel. The bars are forced to oscillate normal to the inflow, and then actively and largely generates transverse vortices behind the bars. As a result, this apparatus can enhance the heat transfer rates remarkably. Because of the interaction between the flow and oscillating bars, the variations of the flow and thermal fields become time-dependent state.

  • This paper presents a new byte-wise BCH (4122, 4096, 2) decoder, which treats byte-wise parallel operations so as to enhance its throughput. In particular, we evaluate the parallel processing technique for the most time-consuming components such as syndrome generator and Chien search owing to the iterative operations. Even though a syndrome generator is based on the conventional LFSR architecture, it allows eight consecutive bit inputs in parallel and it treats them in a cycle. Thus, it can reduce the number of cycles that are needed. In addition, a Chien search eliminates the redundant operations to reduce the hardware complexity. The proposed BCH decoder is implemented with VHDL and it is verified using a Xilinx FPGA. From the simulation results, the proposed BCH decoder can enhance the throughput as 43% and it can reduce the hardware complexity as 67% compared to its counterpart employing parallel processing architecture.

  • A numerical investigation of the performance of the plate heat exchanger with rectangular winglet is conducted to examine the combined effect of vortex generator and louver fins. Velocity and temperature fields and spanwise averaged Nu and friction factor are presented. Enhancement of heat transfer and flow loss penalty is evident. A Parametric study of three factors (Re, angle of attack and louver angle) with levels of 5 (Re= 300, 500, 700, 900, 1100), 4($\alpha=15^{\circ}, 30^{\circ}, 45^{\circ}, 90^{\circ},$), and 4($\beta=0^{\circ}, 15^{\circ}, 30^{\circ}, 45^{\circ}$), respectively, indicates the performance defined by the ratio of heat transfer enhancement to flow loss penalty shows monotonic behavior for each parameter alone but the interactions between parameters is found to be considerable effect on the performance of heat exchanger and should be considered in design. The effect of stamping is also examined.

  • In this paper we show impulse generator which is important component in UWB communication. There is two steps to generate monocycle impulse. In first step, Gaussian pulse was made by operation of transistor switching and operation time of transistor switching. The second step the high pass filter change from Gaussian to Monocycle impulse. The result of this impulse generator is impulse whose pulse width is 0,9 ns in time domain and amplitude is +/-250 ㎷.

  • On this paper, piezoelectric generators using piezoelectric ceramics were designed and fabricated. Generators were made by attaching cymbal type metal plates on upper and bottom sides of a disc type piezoelectric ceramic. Generator converts wasting mechanical energy to electrical energy. Output voltage was increased when thickness of ceramic and displacement of vibration were increased. Temperature of the ceramic was increased when it generates, but the temperature rising was saturated at certain temperature.

  • This paper presents the preventive measure and the cause for field coils breaking away from the rotor, which lately occurred when No.1 hydro generator was operating in Chung-Ju Dam No.2 Hydro Power Station. In findings, we ascertained the truth of contact between rotor rim and field coils, and think that field coils will break away from the rotor because of mechanical stress according as continuous operation after completion. 1985. Therefore, we conclude that the preventive measure for such a phenomenon is that stopper should be installed between rotor rim and field coils, and bolts should be tightened because of operating characteristic however there are not the design standards for installing stopper in generator rotor internationally.

  • This paper proposes an adaptive generalized predictive control with feedforward algorithm for steam generator level control in nuclear power plant. The proposed algorithm is shown that the parameters of N-step ahead predictors can be obtained using the parameters of one-step ahead predictor which is derived from plant model with feedforward. Using this property the proposed scheme is an adaptive algorithm which consists of GPC method and the recursive least squares algorithm for identifying the parameters of one-step ahead predictor. Also, computer simulations are performed to evaluate the performance of proposed algorithm using a mathematical model of PWR steam generator Simulation results show good performances for load variation. And the proposed algorithm shows better responses than PI controller does.
