자동차용 스크류형 과급기의 제어성능에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Control Performance of a Screw Type Super-charger for Automotive Use)

  • Boosting of engine power by using Turbo- or Super-charger is a solution to comply with $CO_2$-regulation in Europe. Turbo-charger is now playing a major role in the field of charging system thank to its technical advantages such as no demand of operation power from engine. A mechanically driven Super-charger, however, is now popular due to quick speed response to change of the driving mode-high engine torque even at low engine speed. Since Super-charger needs operation power from engine, it is difficult to improve its relatively higher fuel consumption than that of Turbo-charger. This negative point is still an obstacle to the wide use of Super-charger. This study aims to develop power control concept to achieve the minimization of operation power when it is not necessary to charge at idling or part load driving condition. A screw type Super-charger was modified in design partially and adapted an internal bypass valve and a bypass tube to control charging pressure at part load. The various control concepts show a possibility to reduce operation power of Super-charger and result in improvement of fuel consumption.

  • In response to the recent surge in aviation demand, major airport and aviation authorities continue to make efforts to formulate arrival procedures that take into account efficient aircraft separation, noise and environmental issues related to carbon (CO2) emissions. In order to ensure efficient traffic control and environmental issues, as a result, a new concept Trombone, Point Merge, etc. have been introduced and widely used. However, these new concept incisions are becoming a factor that hinders operational efficiency and stability due to the restricted domestic airspace such as military airspace and excessive constraints of altitude, speed, etc. which do not reflect the concept of continuous descent operation and eventually needs to be modified to make continuous descent operation as feasible as possible. We herewith analyze and propose the way of improving flight safety and efficiency in the arrival operation procedure by supplementary modification which consequently contribute to the aviation industry international competitiveness.

승강기 Car용 고속응성 배터리 충전시스템에 적합한 제어알고리즘 (A Control Algorithm Suitable for High-speed Response Battery Charging System for Elevator Car)

  • As the demand for high-rise buildings increases, the demand for high-speed elevators is also increasing. In order to make a high-speed elevator, a method is needed to reduce the weight of the elevator's components, which is a constraint on the increase in speed. As a measure to reduce the weight, it is possible to remove the traveling cable for power and signal supply. Since the weight of the traveling cable varies depending on the position of the carriage, it is difficult to compensate the weight using the counter weight. The power supply is a structure in which a brush-rail type power input terminal is installed in the elevator hoistway to receive power in a contact-type manner while the carriage is moving. If a small-capacity ESS is installed in a passenger car, power can be supplied uninterruptedly inside the passenger car. A small-capacity ESS charging system to be applied to such an elevator system is required to perform several functions. First, the passenger Car must be able to charge as much as possible even during high-speed operation. A control algorithm with high responsiveness is required because charging starts and ends repeatedly by the partially installed input power stage. In addition, if the input-side line impedance is large due to the structure of the system and the response characteristic is increased, the stability of the system may be lowered. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a control algorithm that has a stable steady-state output while having a fast response in a transient state. To verify the proposed control algorithm, simulation was conducted using PSIM, and the performance of the controller was verified by manufacturing a prototype buck conveter charger.

발전기 출력특성을 고려한 최적전원구성 연구 (A Study of Optimal Fuel-Mix Considering Power Generation Operation)

  • Though Korea has introduced CBP(Cost Based pool) power trading system since 2001, long-term Generation system planning has been executed by government for Cost minimization every 2 years. Until currently the model which is used for Generation system planning and best-mix only considers cost minimization and total yearly or quarterly electricity demand every year. In a view point of one day power supply operation, technical characteristics, like the ramp up/down rate of total generation system, minimum up/down time and GFRQ(Governor Free Response Quantity), are very important. this paper analyzes Optimal Fuel-Mix for 2022 Korea generation system satisfying these constraints of each fuel type and considering pump storage plants, construction cost and $CO_2$ emission charge Using MILP(Mixed Integer Linear Programming) method. Also the sensitivity analysis which follows in future power industry environmental change accomplished.

Dynamic Configuration and Operation of District Metered Areas in Water Distribution Networks

  • A partition of water distribution network (WDN) into district metered areas (DMAs) brings the efficiency and efficacy for water network operation and management (O&M), especially in monitoring pressure and leakage. Traditionally, the DMA configurations (i.e., number, shape, and size of DMAs) are permanent and cannot be changed occasionally. This leads to changes in water quality and reduced network redundancy lowering network resilience against abnormal conditions such as water demand variability and mechanical failures. This study proposes a framework to automatically divide a WDN into dynamic DMA configurations, in which the DMA layouts can self-adapt in response to abnormal scenarios. To that aim, a complex graph theory is adopted to sectorize a WDN into multiscale DMA layouts. Then, different failure-based scenarios are investigated on the existing DMA layouts. Here, an optimization-based model is proposed to convert existing DMA layouts into dynamic layouts by considering existing valves and possibly placing new valves. The objective is to minimize the alteration of flow paths (i.e., flow direction and velocity in the pipes) while preserving the hydraulic performance of the network. The proposed method is tested on a real complex WDN for demonstration and validation of the approach.

  • The available power generated from the FC power plant may not be sufficient to meet sustained load demand, peak demand or transient events. An supercapacitor bank(SCB) can supply a large burst of power, but it cannot store a significant amount of energy. The combined use of FC and SCB has the potential for the better energy efficiency, reducing the cost of FC technology and improved dynamic response. In this paper, A single PEMFC and PEMFC operated in parallel with a SC bank are presented, A new dynamic model of PEMFC system, the converter and controller has been developed for stand-alone applications. The simulation results are presented using Matlab/Simulink, and SimPowerSystems environments. It is confirmed that the results show a good performance and stable DC-link voltage for proposed dynamic and mathematical models developed for the combined FC/SCB.

The Impact of Nonconforming Items on (s, S) Inventory Model with Customer Order Reservation and Cancellation

  • The ultimate goal of inventory management is to decide the timing and the quantity of ordering in response to uncertain demands. Recently, some researchers have focused upon an impact of distortions in the information, e.g., customer order cancellation, on an economical inventory policy. The customer order cancellation is considered a kind of distortions in demands, because a demand that is eventually cancelled is equivalent to a phony demand. Also, there are some additional distortions in the inventory information. For instance, the procurement of suppliers may include some nonconforming items as a result of imperfect production and inspection by the suppliers, and/or damage in transit. The nonconforming item should be considered a kind of distortions in the inventory information, because the nonconforming item is equivalent to a phony stock. In this article, we consider an inventory model under the situation that customers can cancel their orders and the procurement of suppliers may include some nonconforming items. Then, we introduce the customer order reservation into the inventory model for the purpose of avoiding the costly backlogs, because the customer order reservation gives retailers a period to fulfill customer's requests. We formulate a periodic review (s, S) inventory model and investigate the economical operation under the situation mentioned above. Further, through the sensitivity analysis, we show the impact of these distortions and the effect of the customer order reservation on the inventory policy.

복합 브로드캐스팅 환경에서 이동 트랜잭션 처리 (Mobile Transaction Processing in Hybrid Broadcasting Environment)

  • 최근에 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 여러 데이타 전송 모델이 연구되고 있다. 특히 서버가 반복적으로 필요한 정보를 전파해주는 주기적 푸시 모델에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 데이타 평균 대기 시간은 브로드캐스트 한 주기의 길이에 상당히 영향을 받으며, 또한 여러 사용자들간의 접근 데이타가 차이가 날 경우 응답시간에 상당히 나빠질 수 있다. 이 경우, 그 사용자들은 차라리 서버에게 명시적으로 데이타를 요청하기를 바랄 것이다. 이러한 두 가지 접근방식을 모두 지원하는 것을 복합 브로드캐스트라고 한다. 이 환경에서, 본 논문에서는 새로운 이동 트랜잭션 처리 알고리즘(O-PreH)을 개발하였다. 우선 서버가 관리하는 데이타는 주기적 브로드캐스트 방식으로 처리되는 Push_Data와 요구-처리방식으로 처리되는 Pull_Data로 나뉘어 진다. 즉, 사용자는 요구하는 데이타의 타입에 따라 접근하는 방식이 차이가 난다. 또한 서버는 이동 트랜잭션 일관성 유지를 돕기 위해 주기적으로 무효화 보고를 전송해준다. 만약 사용자가 무효화 보고에 의해 하나 이상의 충돌을 발견한다면, 일관성을 침해하지 않는 범위 내에서 그 충돌 순서를 결정한 후(pre-reordering) 나머지 연산들을 비관적으로 수행시킨다. 자세한 실험 과정을 거쳐 제안한 알고리즘의 성능 향상을 보였다.

In order to ensure efficient traffic control and environmental issues, as a result, a new concept Trombone, Point Merge, etc. have been introduced and widely used in the domestic airspace. However, these new concept procedures which do not properly reflect the characteristics of the aircraft operation performance and the FMS vertical descent guidance hinder flight efficiency as well as bring in turn negative factors such as level-off flight and the use of drag device at the busiest phase of the flight descent operation, like the Continuous Descent Operation (CDO). Accordingly, throughout modification the current Standard Terminal Arrival Route (STAR) and Instrument Approach Procedure(IAP) that reflect the aircraft descent performance and the FMS guidance, the flight operation safety and efficiency is expected to be improved eventually. We herewith analyze and propose the way of improving flight efficiency in the arrival operation procedure by supplementary modification which consequently contribute to the aviation industry international competitiveness.

몬테카를로방법을 이용한 V2B(Vehicle to Building) 운용 제로에너지빌딩의 액티브 요소 예측 연구 (Forecast study for active factor of V2B(Vehicle to Building) operation zero energy building using monte carlo method)

  • 제로에너지빌딩의 요소는 크게 액티브 요소와 패시브 요소 두 가지로 나뉘며, 패시브 요소의 경우 단열, 창호, 차양, 외부분 등 건물의 단열, 열교 성능 등을 나타내는 요소들을 지칭하며, 액티브 요소의 경우는 에너지생산량 및 효율 계수 등을 나타내는 요소이다. 액티브 요소의 에너지생산량은 일반적으로 신재생에너지 발전을 통해 이루어진다. 본 연구에서는 신재생에너지 발전이 아닌 V2B(Vehicle to Building)라는 전기차의 양방향 충방전 기술이 제로에너지빌딩에 액티브 요소로 적용될 경우 어느 정도의 영향을 미칠지에 대해 예측하였다. 신재생발전의 경우 지리, 기후환경에 따라 발전량이 예측될 수 있지만 V2B의 경우 전기차 이용자의 방전의사, 가용 충전기의 대수 등 여러 가지 입력변수를 고려하여 예측하여야 한다. 예측한 결과에 따라 V2B가 제로에너지빌딩의 액티브 요소에 얼마나 기여할 수 있는지 확인 할 수 있으며, 해당 예측은 통계자료가 부족한 실정이기에 확률적 방법을 이용하여 예측해야한다. 본 연구에서는 해당 확률적 방법 중 몬테카를로 방법을 이용하여 DR(Demand Response)발령 시간대를 기준으로 충방전 패턴의 변화를 예측하였다.
