In this paper a joint detection method for other cell interference cancellation is proposed in the next generation hybrid TD-CDMA mobile communication systems. A joint detection technique, a most characteristic feature of hybrid TD-CDMA mobile communication systems. retrieves users' data in the same time slot simultaneously with the elimination of multiple user interference. Previously a two stage joint detection method was proposed to cancel other cell interference as well as multiple user interference in the target cell. However the previous scheme does not have concrete ways to recognize other cell users who give major interference to the target cell. Thus all users in neighbor other cells has to be jointly detected and it causes huge complexity of the two stage joint detection. In this paper a method is proposed to perform two stage joint detection according to users' interference with the target cell. Performances of the proposed scheme are investigated through simulations and compared to the previous method the proposed method has no performance degradation and also lower the complexity of two stage joint detection significantly.

In this paper we have evaluated the degree of performance improvement in Multi-Carrier CDMA system adopting CCI canceller against MUI under mobile channel coexisting MU which is a major interference degrading the performance of Multi-carrier CDMA system. As a result of analysis, BER performance was improved by adopting CCI canceller and it was found that the amount of performance improvement was largely increased as Eb/No became higher. As an example, in case that data service BER = 10$^{-5}$ must be achieved with $E_{b/}$$N_{o}$ = 12 ㏈, 4 users could be supported without CCI canceller while 30 users could be supported with CCI canceller, Also, we found that performance improving effect of 5$\times$10$^{-3}$ in a point of view BER could be achieved by adopting CCI canceller with fixed $E_{b/}$$N_{o}$. o/. o/.

In this paper, we propose a multi-way relaying system, in which N communicating nodes interchange their information one another by the help of a multiple-antenna non-regenerative relay station (RS). While the conventional multi-way relaying requires 2N transmission phases to complete the data exchange, the proposed system completes the mission with N phases composed of one multiple access phase and N-1 broadcast phases. For effective broadcast transmission, the proposed system pairs users for signal transmission with a new RS beamforming matrix not to interfere with the nodes of different pairs and a self-interference canceler at each node. The performance evaluation in terms of the average sum rate shows that the proposed system outperforms the conventional one with more significant gain when the number of RS antennas is comparable to the number of communicating nodes. The proposed schemes can be applicable to marine communications where the ships need to share their information with extended coverage.
It has been suggested that the prognosis for fertility of the infertile patients with healed pelvic tuberculosis is very poor. Total 60 patients(77 cycles) with previous history of pelvic tuberculosis who underwent IVF-ET from January 1988 to March 1989 at SNUH were classified into three groups according to the principal histopathological lesions : tuberculous endometritis group(N=20, 28 cycles), tuberculous salpingitis group(N=32, 37 cycles) and pelvic peritoneal tuberculosis group(N=8, 12 cycles). To evaluate the effects of previous pelvic tuberculous lesions on ovarian follicular growth and development in controlled ovarian hyperstimulation for IVF-ET and its final outcome, serum E2 levels on the day of hCG administration(Day 0) and the day after hCG administration(Day +1), the number of ovarian follicles with mean diamete ${\geqq}$ 12 mm on Day 0, the number of oocytes retrieved by transvaginal aspiration, and pregnancy rate per cycle were measured and compared with control group(N=123, 161 cycles). There were no significant differences in cancellation rate during controlled ovarian hyperstimulation, total dosage of FSH and hMG administrated, menstrual cycle date(MCD) of hCG injection, serum E2 levels, the number of ovarian follicles with mean diameter ${\geqq}$ 15 mm, and the number of oocytes retrieved between pelvic tuberculosis group and control group. But in pelvic tuberculosis group, the number of ovarian follicles with mean diameter 12-14 mm, total number of ovarian follicles(${\geqq}$ 12 mm), and pregnancy rate per cycle were significantly decreased. These data suggest that previous pelvic tuberculous lesions have no significant adverse effects on the ovarian response to gonadotropin stimulation. IVF-ET proved to be an useful treatment modality for infertile patients with previous history of pelvic tuberculosis in spite of its relatively lowered pregnancy rate.
In this paper, we proposed the single-channel adaptive noise canceller for the enhancement of heart sound (HS) in the auscultation signal. In case of either normal or emergency, a HS diagnosis is difficult due to the various signal source in the chest. Therefore, the HS enhancement is necessary. The conventional active noise canceller(ANC) has two channel, main signal and reference signal. For signal channel, the reference signal in ANC was generated by the proposed HS analyser and BS-Gate based on the characteristic of HS. This reference signal is suitable to the ANC condition. Experimental data were acquisited from MP36, SS30L in BIOPAC Inc., By the experiment, we confirmed that the proposed single-channel ANC was efficient for HS enhancement. And by the comparison with active linear enhancement, it was validate that the proposed ANC is not affected by the variation of a heartbeat.
In non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), the degraded performance of the weaker channel gain user is a problem. In this paper, we propose the asymmetric binary pulse amplitude modulation (2PAM), to improve the bit-error rate (BER) performance of the weaker channel user in NOMA with the tolerable BER loss of the stronger channel user. First, we design the asymmetric 2PAM, calculate the total allocated power, and derive the closed-form expression for the BER of the proposed scheme. Then it is shown that the BER of the weaker channel user improves, with the small BER loss of the stronger channel user. The superiority of the proposed scheme is also validated by demonstating that the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) gain of the weaker channel user is about 10 dB, with the SNR loss of 3 dB of the stronger channel user. In result, the asymmetric 2PAM could be considered in NOMA of 5G systems. As a direction of the future research, it would be meaningful to analyze the achievable data rate for the propsed scheme.

Recently, full-duplex communications has been considered as one of the most promising techniques for net-generation mobile communication system. In this paper, we propose a compressed sensing based signal detection technique for full-duplex generalized spatial modulation (FD-GSM) systems. In FD-GSM systems, some antennas are used for signal transmission according to input data and the otehrs are used for detecting signals received over the same frequency band. The self-interference (SI) is assumed to be completely removed by help for the recently proposed SI cancellation techniques. The proposed signal detection technique significantly outperforms the conventional ones in terms of symbol error rate (SER). We will investigate the optimal number of used antennas in FD-GSM systems.

In this paper, we propose an effective but simple multi-rate parallel interference canceller(PIC) for the international mobile telecommunications-2000(IMT-2000) 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) system. For effective multi-rate processing, we define the basic block as one symbol period of the dedicated physical control channel(DPCCH) having the lowest data rate and common to all users. Then, decision and interference cancellation are performed at every basic block. For an asynchronous channel, we propose an advance removal scheme that removes in advance multiple access interference(MAI) due to the next blockof other users with shorter delay. Introducing a pipeline structure at a sample base, we can implement efficiently the PIC using the advance removal scheme with a minimum hardware and no extra computations. Through computer simulations, we analyze the bit error rate(BER) performance of the proposed PIC with respect to signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) and the number of users.
Traditional adaptive noise cancelling methods rely their performance on various interfering parameters, such as convergence speed, tracking ability, numerical stability, relative frequency characteristics between target and reverberation signals, and activity of the target. In this paper, an adaptive noise cancelling method is suggested, which Provides a successful tradeoff mon these factors. It is designed to work on the transform domain, adopts the Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization process, and is implemented by the escalator algorithm. The transform domain approach supports a tradeoff between the convergence speed and numerical cost. The proposed method is verified by applying a real-data collected in the shallow waters off the east coasts of korea. It is shown that it has a good reverberation-rejection capability even for the target signal with adjacent frequency components to those of the reverberation, and its performance is invariant for the activity of the target.

In this paper, we introduce the concept of a subcarrier-based virtual multiple antennas (SV-MIMO) for OFDM cellular systems, where the multiple antenna techniques are performed on a set of subcarriers, not on the actual multiple antennas. The virtual multiple antenna system can support multiple users simultaneously as well as reduce inter-cell interference (ICI) form adjacent cells with a single antenna. Also, this technique is easily extended to multiple antenna environments. The virtual multiple antenna techniques can be divided into a virtual smart antenna technique and a virtual MIMO technique. Especially, this method effectively reduces ICI at cell boundary with frequency reuse factor equal to 1, and can support flexible resource allocation depending on the amount of interference. It is shown by simulation that the proposed method is superior to conventional method under the same condition of data transmission.
