  • This paper derives a consistent and bias corrected extension of Akaike's Information Criterion (AIC), $AIC_{bc}$, based on Kullback-Leibler information. This criterion has terms that penalize the overparametrization more strongly for small and large samples than that of AIC. The overfitting problem of the asymptotically efficient model selection criteria for small and large samples will be overcome. The $AIC_{bc}$ also provides a consistent model order selection. Thus, it is widely applicable to data with small and/or large sample sizes, and to cases where the number of free parameters is a relatively large fraction of the sample size. Relationships with other model selection criteria such as $AIC_c$ of Hurvich, CAICF of Bozdogan and etc. are discussed. Empirical performances of the $AIC_{bc}$ are studied and discussed in better model order choices of a linear regression model using a Monte Carlo experiment.

  • The frequency response function(FRF) of each substructure is used for the transfer function synthesis method(TFS). The dynamic characteristics of the full system are obtained by synthesizing FRFs of each substructure. The validation of TFS depends on accuracy for FRF of each substructure. Impact hammer testing Is widely used to obtain the modal characteristics of structures However. the FRF obtained from impact hammer testing contains bias errors, such as finite record length error and leakage error of which characteristic depends on data acquisition time which we call record length. In this paper, a method to remove hose errors is proposed so as to enhance results of TFS. Numerical and experimental examples show that the FRF of full structure can be predicted nearly exactly by the method proposed in this paper.

  • The method for extracting the SPICE model parameter of Schottky diode under DC forward bias is proposed. A method for improving the accuracy of the SPICE model parameter at various temperatures is proposed. Three analysis steps according to the magnitude of the current is used in order to extract the parameters effectively. At each analysis step, initial parameters are calculated by using the current-voltage equations and the Levenberg-Marquardt analysis is proceeded. To verify the validity of the proposed method, the SPICE model parameters for the BAT45 and FSV1045 under DC forward bias is extracted. Schottky diode currents obtained from the proposed method shows the average relative error of 6.1% and 9% compared with the measured data for the BAT45 and FSV1045 sample at various temperatures.

  • Global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) use dual frequency signals to remove ionosphere delay effect. GNSS receivers have their own biases, called inter-frequency bias (IFB) between dual frequencies due to differential signal delays in receiving each frequency codes. The IFB degrades pseudo-range and ionosphere delay accuracies, and they must be accurately estimated. Simultaneous estimation of ionosphere map and IFB is applied in order to analyze the IFB estimation accuracy and variability. GPS network data in Korea is used to compute each receiver's IFB. Accuracy changes due to ionosphere model changes is analyzed and the effect of external GNSS satellite IFB on the receiver IFB is analyzed.

  • Based on the capture-emission energy (CEE) maps of CMOS devices, a physics-informed machine learning model for the bias temperature instability (BTI)-induced threshold voltage shifts and low frequency noise is presented. In order to incorporate physics theories into the machine learning model, the integration of artificial neural network (IANN) is employed for the computation of the threshold voltage shifts and low frequency noise. The model combines the computational efficiency of IANN with the optimal estimation of Gaussian mixture model (GMM) with soft clustering. It enables full lifetime prediction of BTI under various stress and recovery conditions and provides accurate prediction of the dynamic behavior of the original measured data.

  • The problem of optimal design for a nonparametric regression with binary data is considered. The aim of the statistical analysis is the estimation of a quantal response surface in two dimensions. Bias, variance and IMSE of kernel estimates are derived. The optimal design density with respect to asymptotic IMSE is constructed.

  • Categorical data collected based on complex sample design is not proper for the standard Pearson multinomial-based chi-squared test because the observations are not independent and identically distributed. This study investigates effects of bias of point estimator of population proportion and its variance estimator to the standard Pearson chi-squared test statistics when the sample is collected based on complex sampling scheme. This study examines the effect under two population homogeneity test. The standard Pearson test statistic can be partitioned into two parts; the first part is the weighted sum of ${\chi}^2_1$ with eigenvalues of design matrix as their weights, and the additional second part which is added due to the biases of the point estimator and its variance estimator. Our empirical analysis shows that even though the bias of point estimator is small, Pearson test statistic is very much inflated due to underestimate the variance of point estimator. In the connection of design-based variance estimator and its design matrix, the bigger the average of eigenvalues of design matrix is, the larger relative size of which the first component part to Pearson test statistic is taking.

  • This study reviews the latest articles about oriental and traditional medicine treatment of male sexual dysfunction. We searched the article from 2000 to 2012 using 5 data bases. There were no restrictions on the type of publication, but articles not available in full text were excluded. The methological quality of RCT study was assessed according to Jadad scores and Cochrane's assessment of risk of bias. 18 articles were included in this study. 5 articles published in Korea, the rest were foreign articles. 9 articles were randomized controlled trial(RCT), Case-control studies were 3, case reports were 3, One group pre-post test were 3. In RCT studies, Jadad scores were generally low, and risk of selection bias and performance bias were generally high, risk of detection bias was unclear. Oriental and traditional medicine treatment is as effective as western medicine treatment for male sexual dysfunction, more rigorous oriental medicine treatment studies should be warranted.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the reasonable gathering conditions as consider of effect of gathering and variation of silhouette made by gathering conditions. The experimental design consists of four factorial design: (1) three kinds of different weight and different thickness fabrics (2) three kinds of different stitch densities (3) five kinds of different ratio of gathers (4) three kinds of different angles. Therefore one hundred thirty five (135) samples were made. Data analysis utilize SPSS WIN 10.0 Package. The results of this study were as follows: 1. In the aspect of fabrics, it is shown the visual propriety that it is as thin as the small stitch, and as thick as the big stitch. 2. As stitch densities, it shows the different stabilized nodes. 3. In the aspect of ratio of gathers, it is shown the visual propriety that a few was small stitches, which help formations of nodes, and a lot were big stitches, which help increased the effect of gather. 4. In the aspect of angle of bias, the drape appearance was excellent as a sample of cutting by 0 angle(0$^{\circ}$) of bias. The big stitches that help formations of stabilized nodes, and a case of cutting by 45 angle(45$^{\circ}$) of bias was small stitch.

  • Recent studies suggest that the difference between global and local properties of galaxies (the local-global environmental (LoG) bias) might be important in the Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) host galaxy studies. Obtaining local spectroscopic properties of hosts at high redshift, however, is challenging. Here we will introduce a more efficient way to conduct this study by only using photometric data. We find that when we restrict a sample to the hosts whose stellar mass is less than $10^{10}$ $M_{\odot}$, a sample without LoG bias is efficiently selected. From the sample without LoG bias, we confirm that SNe Ia in locally star-forming environment are $0.103{\pm}0.010mag$ and $0.085{\pm}0.012mag$ fainter than those in locally passive region, for MLCS2k2 and SALT2, respectively. Because of ~6 times larger sample that covers much wider redshift range, our results are far more significant statistically, $10.3{\sigma}$ for MLCS2k2 and $7.1{\sigma}$ for SALT2, than previous results.
