의사소통능력과 갈등해결전략에 따른 인기아와 배척아 판별 (Discriminant Analysis of Popular and Rejected Children Based on Their Communicative Competence and Conflict-Resolving Strategies)

  • The purposes of this study were to test the differences in communicative competence and conflict-resolving strategies between both popular and rejected children, and to thereby verify the discriminance of communicative competence and conflict-resolving strategies for both types of children. 52 popular children and 41 rejected children from among a pool of 202 6th grade elementary students were selected, and the data were analyzed by means of independent sample t-test and discriminant analysis. The research findings are as follows : First, listen up (sub-factors of perceiving), self-presentation, planning, and coding revealed statistically significant differences between the popular and the rejected children. Second, only negotiation and cooperation strategies revealed any statistically significant differences between the popular and the rejected children, while other sub-factors of conflict-resolving strategies indicated broad indifference between them. Third, it was only the factor of planning among 5 factors of communicative competence and 4 factors within conflict-resolving strategies which indicated that it was the most discriminant predictor between the popular and the rejected children. These results suggest that a comprehensive program is needed to improve the communicative competence and conflict-resolving strategies of rejected children.

건강정보 이해능력(Health Literacy)에 대한 개념분석 (Health Literacy: An Evolutionary Concept Analysis)

  • Purpose: In these days, the concept of health literacy becomes important because it is essential to have a clear grasp of patients' basic ability to understand health-care information. Therefore, we intended to discover attributes, antecedents and consequences of health literacy through contextual analysis. Method: Following Rodgers' evolutionary concept analysis, we did a literary review. The databases KMBase, KoreaMed, Kstudy, NDSL, and RISS were searched for articles. Among published literature about health literacy, twenty articles which satisfied the inclusion criteria were chosen. Results: Health literacy consists of three attributes: information seeking, information understanding, and information utilizing. Furthermore antecedents are as follows: health status, health belief, socioeconomic status, and information quality. Finally, we were able to explain the consequences of health literacy by showing improvement of self-care and interaction, and a decrease of social costs. Conclusion: We expect this study to guide the direction of future studies, and as a concept analysis that examines the conceptual attributes in the context of health literacy. Based on the result of this study, the design of a standardized tool and the program of health literacy promotion education need to be developed.

탈북청소년을 위한 대인간호중재 프로그램의 개발 및 효과 (Development and Effectiveness of the Interpersonal Caring Program for Young North Korean Defectors)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the interpersonal caring program for young North Korean defectors which we developed based on Kim's interpersonal caring technique. Methods: This study employs a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study are 36 young North Korean defectors living in three areas. The participants are recruited through alternative schools, churches, and acquaintances. The experimental group consists of 20 participants and the control group consists of 16 participants. Experiments are conducted by four days. Specifically, the experiments are conducted eight times and each takes about 120 minutes. Furthermore, we run the camp for two nights and three days. We test our hypothesis by using Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Independent t-test, Paired t-test, and Independent t-test. Results: All the test statistics support our hypotheses such as self-esteem (t=1.87, p=.035), mental health (t=-1.69, p=.049), interpersonal relationships (t=1.93, p=.031), and quality of life (t=1.88, p=.034). Conclusion: We found that the interpersonal caring program developed in this study is effective in improving North Korean defectors' self-esteem, mental health, interpersonal relationships, and quality of life.

간호대학생의 임상실습 감정노동, 자아존중감, 실습만족도가 직업정체감에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Emotional Labor of Clinical Practice, Self-esteem and Clinical Practice Satisfaction on Professional Identity in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to explore the factors affecting emotional labor, self-esteem and clinical practice satisfaction on professional identity in nursing students. Methods: A total of 262 nursing students participated in the study. Data were analyzed using SPSSWIN 18.0. Results: The mean scores for emotional labor, self-esteem, clinical practice satisfaction and professional identity were above-average. There were significant mean differences in professional identity according to ages, academic score, motivation for selecting nursing, satisfaction with college life and satisfaction with nursing majors. Professional identity correlated positively with self-esteem and clinical practice satisfaction, negatively with emotional labor. The significant predictors of professional identity included satisfaction with nursing majors, self-esteem, emotional labor and motivation for selecting nursing. The regression model explained 38.9% of professional identity. Conclusion: To enhance professional identity in nursing students, it is necessary to build effective strategic to focus on promoting their satisfaction with the nursing major, self-esteem and management of emotional labor.

이압요법이 중·노년의 안구건조증에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Auricular Acupressure Therapy on Middle-aged and Old Adults' Dry Eye Syndrome)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effect of auricular acupressure therapy on reducing the ocular symptoms and signs for dry eye syndrome. Methods: The participants who were aged ≥ 40 years old and met the inclusion criteria of the ocular surface disease index score ≥ 13 and a tear film break-up time ≤ 10 seconds were enrolled into the two groups: experimental group (n=29) and control group (n=27). Experimental group received auricular acupressure therapy for 8 weeks. Seed stickers were applied to the eye, liver and tubercle point of each ear once a week. Data were collected at pre and 4 and 8 weeks after the treatment and analysed the efficacy of intervention by repeated measures ANOVA. Results: There were significant differences in the ocular surface disease index, standard patient evaluation of eye dryness and a tear film break-up time in both eyes at 8 weeks after the treatment between the two groups. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the auricular acupressure therapy may be helpful for relieving symptoms of dry eye as a nursing intervention. In addition, it could also be utilized as a self-care practice using proper education and training.

초등 교사의 수학과 전문성 신장을 위한 사례기반 교수법의 개발 및 적용 (Development and Application of Case-Based Pedagogy for Professional Growth in Mathematics of Elementary School Teachers)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop case-based pedagogy in mathematics for elementary school teachers and to investigate how they participate in the course employing case-based pedagogy. The 13 cases were developed and employed in pre-service teacher education. As such, the cases covered all content areas across grades, and included detailed description of mathematics instruction, questions for discussion, theoretical review related to each case, focus analysis and additional analysis, etc. This paper describes in what ways the participant teachers discussed cases, how case-based pedagogy had an influence on the teachers' own instruction during the practicum period, and how they assessed case-based pedagogy. This paper provides issues and suggestions for the professional development of mathematics teachers on the basis of empirical background.

중환자실 환자의 억제대 적용에 대한 가족의 정서적 반응 (Emotional Response of ICU Patients' Family toward Physical Restraints)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the emotional response of family members of physically restrained patients in the intensive care units (ICUs). Methods: The study subjects were 200 family members of ICU patients who had been on physical restraints in two university hospitals. Data were collected using the "Instrument of family's emotional response toward physically restrained patients". Results: The mean score of familial emotional response was 2.69 out of a possible 5. The subcategory of acceptance was the highest with 3.56 points followed by depression (3.02), helplessness (2.94), anxiety (2.87), shock (2.74), avoidance (2.64), and grudge (2.08). Multiple stepwise regression analysis indicated that the age of family members, side effects of restraints, and information provision were the variables influencing on negative emotional response of family. Conclusion: Family members showed slightly negative emotional response toward the physical restraints. This finding could be influenced by their limited knowledge of the need for the restraints. Educational programs or fact sheets to be given to family members may be helpful.

임상간호사의 가족지지도가 직무 스트레스에 미치는 영향 (Family Support and Job Stress of Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was done to investigate the level of family support, job stress in clinical nurses end identify the participant's individual characteristics that influenced each of them. Methods: This study was a descriptive correlational study. The participants were 192 clinical nurses working in local middle range hospitals. The data were collected from May to June, 2013 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test and Pearson's correlation by PASW statistics20. Results: The item mean score for family support was 21.01 and job stress was 98.89. There was a statistically significant negative correlation between family support and job stress (r=-.12). The level of job stress differed according to age (p=.014), duration of career (p=.013), department area (p<.001), position (p=.005), work duty form (p<.001), family member (p=.021), burden (p=.031), marital status (p=.001) and satisfaction (p<.001). Conclusion: Family support is needed to reduce job stress. Also, job satisfaction improvement programs and effective working systems should be developed to decrease the nurse's workplace stress.

자살시도자에 대한 간호대학생의 주관성 연구 (A Study of Subjectivity among Nursing Students Regarding Suicide Attempters)

  • Purpose: To identify the types and characteristics of subjective structures among nursing students toward individuals who attempt suicide. Methods: A group of 32 third- and fourth-year nursing students with experience in clinical practice rated 35 Q-statements on a nine-point scale according to their opinion. Data analysis was conducted using the PC-Quanl program. Results: Subjectivity among nursing students toward individuals who attempt suicide was analyzed for three types. Type 1 (social responsibility emphasis) subjectivity recognizes the social responsibility for suicide attempts and emphasizes the importance of social support systems as a preventive effort. Type 2 (rational reprimand) subjectivity emphasizes the willpower and effort to overcome challenges in life, because happiness and unhappiness are dependent on one's thoughts and will. Type 3 (situation acceptance) subjectivity regards the suicide attempt as an optional means to avoid a deeply strenuous, painful, and difficult situation. Conclusion: This study investigated the subjectivity of nursing students toward individuals who attempt suicide and to provide a better understanding of them. In addition, the development of training programs that take advantage of the subjective characteristics of individuals based on subjectivity types demonstrated in this study is expected to provide nursing students with useful educational materials for their future careers as nurses.

한국 근대수학교육의 아버지 이상설(李相卨)이 쓴 19세기 근대화학 강의록 『화학계몽초(化學啓蒙抄)』 (19th Century Chemistry Book of Korean Mathematician Sang-Seol LEE)

  • 본 원고는 한국 근대 수학교육의 아버지 이상설(李相卨, 1870-1917)이 자연과학-화학-에 기여한 내용을 다루고 있다. 이상설은 "수리(數理)"를 쓴 시기를 전후하여, 같은 시기에 붓으로 총 46쪽에 달하는 "화학계몽초(化學啓蒙抄)"를 필사하였다. 분석해 본 결과 그 원전은 영국인 H. E. Roscoe(羅斯科, 1833-1915)가 1876년 발간한 Science Primers: Chemistry를 영국인 선교사 Joseph Edkins(艾約瑟, 1823-1905)가 번역하여 1886년에 간행한 "화학계몽(化學啓蒙)"으로 "서학계몽(西學啓蒙)" 16종 가운데 하나이다.
