모바일 오피스 서비스 지원을 위한 ADSRC 패킷 통신 시스템

  • In this paper, we introduce an ADSRC(hdvanced DSRC) OFDM packet communication system which has been developed by ETRI. The ADSRC system is targeted to provide high terminal mobility, high data rate and seamless service in roadside environment for mobile office services. We discuss the requirements of the ADSRC communication system for mobile office services, and the system design specification to meet them with regard to air interface. The ADSRC packet communication systems consist of the MAC processor block, the OFDM packet modem block and the RF block. The MAC processor block handles medium access control and the test. The OFDM packet modem transmits data packets at up to 24Mbps adaptively and recovers the data from RF block. We describe the ADSRC packet communication system architecture and the ADSRC system protocol.

Fusion Strategy on Heterogeneous Information Sources for Improving the Accuracy of Real-Time Traffic Information (실시간 교통정보 정확도 향상을 위한 이질적 교통정보 융합 연구)

  • In recent, the number of real-time traffic information sources and providers has increased as increasing smartphone users and intelligent transportation system facilities installed at roadways including vehicle detection system (VDS), dedicated short-ranged communications (DSRC), and global positioning system (GPS) probe vehicle. The accuracy of such traffic information would vary with these heterogeneous information sources or spatiotemporal traffic conditions. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose an empirical strategy of heterogeneous information fusion to improve the accuracy of real-time traffic information. To carry out this purpose, travel speed data collection based on the floating car technique was conducted on 227 freeway links (or 892.2 km long) and 2,074 national highway links (or 937.0 km long). The average travel speed for 5 probe vehicles on a specific time period and a link was used as a ground truth measure to evaluate the accuracy of real-time heterogeneous traffic information for that time period and that link. From the statistical tests, it was found that the proposed fusion strategy improves the accuracy of real-time traffic information.

  • In recent days, crash safety system based on vehicle-to-vehicle communication (V2V) has been legislated. This V2V based safety system collects information from nearby vehicles to predict any crash possibility. Thus, it requires accurate and reliable data. Regularly updated features of Basic Safety Message(BSM) will be used to test validity of various elements included in the BSM. Then, the focus was made on whether values of these elements had notable differences compared to previous values. Through this paper, the validation tool was implemented and the result from V2V OBU experiment was used to identify problems in the current model and additional features that need to be implemented in V2V OBU for more accurate BSM.

A Study on Advanced Location Awareness Component using Smart Phone GPS in BIS

  • A BIS(Bus Information System) collects, processes and analyzes information such as real-time location and operation status during bus operation. And It is a system that provides valid information to citizens, drivers, traffic centers and bus companies. Transport information system sent by an each bus is collected through GPS(Global Positioning System), DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communications), Beacon and passed to transport information center. BIS data by collected is handled and analyzed. Next, it is transmitted to citizen, drivers and bus companies in real time. The result of 5 times simulation satisfied the test criteria(error range ${\pm}10m$) with an average error range of 3.306m, and the reliability is increased. In this paper, we propose a improved location transfer component that can provide users to quicker and more accurate location information than existing BIS using GPS of smart phone. It can be seen that reliability is improved by securing improved bus position data.

A Primary Channel Selection Scheme for Wideband WLAN V2X Communication (무선랜 기반 광대역 V2X 통신에서의 채널 접근 동작을 위한 주 채널 설정 기법)

  • With the proliferation of intelligent transportation system (ITS) with dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) deployment, there are various applications requiring different throughput and reliability performance. To meet the enhanced throughput requirements in newly generated applications, IEEE 802.11bd is proposed to standardize for support of enhanced throughput and latency, preserving the fairness with previously deployed WLAN V2X devices. One of the main features of IEEE 802.11 bd is 20 MHz transmission to support the high data rate. In this paper, the primary channel selection method is proposed to guarantee the fairness with frame transmissions with 10 MHz bandwith including communications in WLAN V2X devices deployed with IEEE 802.11p. Simulation shows that the proposed channel access method for 20 MHz transmission with primary selection preserves the fairness without the change of channel access method in wide-band transmission.

Development of Performance Evaluation Formula for Deep Learning Image Analysis System (딥러닝 영상분석 시스템의 성능평가 산정식 개발)

  • Urban traffic information is collected by various systems such as VDS, DSRC, and radar. Recently, with the development of deep learning technology, smart intersection systems are expanding, are more widely distributed, and it is possible to collect a variety of information such as traffic volume, and vehicle type and speed. However, as a result of reviewing related literature, the performance evaluation criteria so far are rbs-based evaluation systems that do not consider the deep learning area, and only consider the percent error of 'reference value-measured value'. Therefore, a new performance evaluation method is needed. Therefore, in this study, individual error, interval error, and overall error are calculated by using a formula that considers deep learning performance indicators such as precision and recall based on data ratio and weight. As a result, error rates for measurement value 1 were 3.99 and 3.54, and rates for measurement value 2 were 5.34 and 5.07.

Detour Behavior on the Expressway using Route Travel Data (경로형 통행데이터 기반 고속도로 우회행태 분석)

  • Detour behavior on the expressway means that the driver uses the local road by passing the part of the expressway which is stagnant at the time of the traffic demand such as holidays. Since the detour rate was estimated through the survey at toll gate in the past, there was a difficulty in estimating the actual detour rate due to the small sample of the survey. In this study, we use DSRC-based route travel data to conduct empirical studies on detour patterns such as the estimation of actual detour rate, the improvement of travel time using detour road, and the correlation between traffic conditions on the expressway and detour rate. On the day of Chuseok and the day before Chuseok, the analysis of Giheung-DongtanIC→OsanIC and Seopyeongtaek IC→Walgott JC showed that the use of detour roads increased gradually during the congestion of the main line and travel time reduced when using detour roads, However, when the traffic congestion of the main line is not severe, the travel time increases when using the detour roads. The correlation between the traffic condition of the expressway and the actual detour rate has a negative correlation, which is consistent with the congestion pattern of the main line. The results of this study can be used to overcome limitations of detour pattern research based on surveys in the past and to establish a detour strategy for expressway sections where traffic demand is concentrated.

  • Currently, ITS (Intelligent Transport System) system is supporting a variety of services to be enhanced traffic's efficiency and driver's safety as developing of information communications and network technology. High data transfer communications such as Wibro, HSPA and WAVE are used for providing ITS services, but there are some differences from specification and performance applied. So, users who are employing the communication systems to transfer data whatever they want to have been suffering from use. In this paper, it is proposed that user can use various high data transfer communication systems wherever environments they are in using adaptation of system change. Also, it is implemented performance of system which uses alternate communication scheme in mobile terminal based on embedded platform.

Improvement of Traffic Information Contents of Portal Site focused on User's Satisfaction (이용자 만족도 중심의 인터넷포탈 교통정보 콘텐츠 개선방안)

  • Recently, use frequency for traffic information which provides shortest paths and traffic condition is increasing. Specially, in the survey, it is shown that users prefer internet portal sites which can be used the most easily among traffic information media. But, there are not many verification systems for traffic information contents of internet portal sites which collect and provide information than traffic information contents which are provided by public service. The purpose of this study is to investigate real accuracy and accuracy felt by users about information provided by portal sites. Therefore, in this research we verified accuracy of information by portal site with real field data and investigate real usage about contents and experienced accuracy by users through survey. Also, users' expectation and satisfaction were surveyed and the contents to be improved were selected by using IPA technique. By the result of accuracy verification by field data using portable DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication) devices, it is shown that average error was 14~32% and sometimes very high rate. Also, it is shown that 28.3 % of total respondents prefers the information by portal sites and 50 % of total respondents felt that contents of traffic information by portal sites are not accurate. Real-time traffic condition was selected as the most inaccurate one among all contents of traffic information and it was analyzed that intensive efforts for improving information about real-time traffic condition are needed.

Preliminary Study Related with Application of Transportation Survey and Analysis by Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(Drone) (드론기반 고속도로 교통조사분석 활용을 위한 기초연구)

  • Most of the drone (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) research in terms of traffic management involves detecting and tracking roads or vehicles. The purpose of analyzing image footage in the transportation sector is to overcome the limitations of the existing traffic data collection system (vehicle detectors, DSRC, etc.). With regards to this, drones are the good alternatives. However, due to limitation in their maximum flight time, they are appropriate to use as a complementary rather than replacing the existing collection system. Therefore, further research is needed for utilizing drones for transportation analysis purpose. Traffic problems often arise from one particular section or a point that expands to the whole road network and drones can be fully utilized to analyze these particular sections. Based on the study on the uses of traffic survey analysis, this study is conducted by extracting traffic flow parameters from video images(range 800~1000m) of highway unit segments that were taken by drones. In addition, video images were taken at a high altitude with the development of imaging technologies.
