  • Ortho images created by aerial photogrammetry have been used in large areas but they are uneconomical for small areas and continuous change observation. The drones have been developed for military purposes, and recently they are being used crop management and analysis, broadcast relay, meteorological observation and disaster investigation and so on. Also there were a lot of studies of expensive commercial drone. In this paper, lower price self-assembly drone usable for in small areas, Obtained images and produced Orthomosaic and DSM using mission planner which is a normal digital camera and open source program, and postprocessing was used Pix4d software. GCP errors are X-coordinate 3.4cm, Y-coordinate 2.4cm, Z-coordinate 4.2cm. It seems like the self-assembly drone can be used for various fields.

Semi-automatic Extraction of 3D Building Boundary Using DSM from Stereo Images Matching (영상 매칭으로 생성된 DSM을 이용한 반자동 3차원 건물 외곽선 추출 기법 개발)

  • In a study for LiDAR data based building boundary extraction, usually dense point cloud was used to cluster building rooftop area and extract building outline. However, when we used DSM generated from stereo image matching to extract building boundary, it is not trivial to cluster building roof top area automatically due to outliers and large holes of point cloud. Thus, we propose a technique to extract building boundary semi-automatically from the DSM created from stereo images. The technique consists of watershed segmentation for using user input as markers and recursive MBR algorithm. Since the proposed method only inputs simple marker information that represents building areas within the DSM, it can create building boundary efficiently by minimizing user input.

  • With standard orthorectification algorithms, one can produce unacceptable structure duplication in the orthophoto due to the double projection. Because of the abrupt height differences, such structure duplication is a frequently occurred phenomenon in the dense urban area which includes multi-history buildings. Therefore, occlusion area detection especially for the urban area is a critical issue in generation of true orthophoto. This paper deals with occlusion area detection with visible height based approach from aerial imagery and LiDAR. In order to accomplish this, a grid format DSM is produced from the point clouds of LiDAR. Next, visible height based algorithm is proposed to detect the occlusion area for each camera exposure station with DSM. Finally, generation of true orthophoto is presented with DSM and previously produced occlusion maps. The proposed algorithms are applied in the Purdue campus, Indiana, USA.

The role of Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 for the absorption of iron preparations in children with iron deficiency anemia

  • Purpose: To determine whether Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 plays a role in absorption of iron preparations given to children with iron deficiency anemia (IDA). Methods: We performed a quasi-experimental study involving pre- and postintervention tests using a control group in North Sulawesi province, Indonesia, between July and September 2017. We conducted a single-blind controlled trial that included primary school children who were diagnosed with IDA based on reticulocyte hemoglobin equivalent (Ret-He) levels <27.8 pg/L. Results: A total of 66 children were randomized into 2 groups. Thirty-four children received iron preparations with the addition of L. reuteri DSM 17938 (group 1), whereas the other 32 received iron preparations alone (group 2). The baseline Ret-He levels before intervention were similar in both groups. After 14 days of intervention, mean Ret-He level in group 1 changed from $24.43{\pm}1.64$ to $28.21{\pm}1.72pg/L$ (P=0.000). Mean Ret-He level in group 2 changed from $24.31{\pm}1.42$ to $27.03{\pm}2.14pg/L$ (P=0.000). Statistical analysis showed a significant increase in Ret-He levels in both groups; Ret-He levels were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Children with IDA receiving iron preparations with L. reuteri DSM 17938 for 14 days show higher Ret-He levels than those receiving iron preparations alone.

  • Recently, it is used to join an building to an underground shopping-area in urban. When we construct Seo-Cho Complex building which is in Seoul, we also construct an underground passage to the Gangnam underground shopping-area. But it is difficult to excavate in the downtown area, because excavations induce traffic jam and public discontent. Considering safety, a confined area, settlements, we decided to use DSM(Divided Shield Method) which is based on messer shield. This paper will produce our experience and the results provide a useful guide in a connection tunnel

  • The RFM (Rational Function Model), as an alternative to physical sensor models has been widely used for photogrammetric processing of high resolution optical satellite imagery. However, the application of RF modeling to the SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) is very limited. In this paper, stereo radargrammetric processing of TerraSAR-X stereo pairs with RFM is implemented and analyzed. The investigation has shown that the accuracy of TerraSAR-X DSM is similar to that of the commercial S/W product. Finally, it is demonstrated that RFM is effective and feasible in the application to the radargrammetric SAR image processing.

  • An important purpose of screening DSM(Demand Side Management) programs is to determine which programs or technologies seem to be moot worthy of further development, given the characteristics of the particular utility system. Complication found in screening DSM technologies is the consideration of costs and benefits from several perspectives : the utility, society, participants, free riders and nonparticipants. In this paper, a nation-wide DSM screening model is presented using a rigorous mathematical formulation on the financial basis and the concept of marginal coots considering all affected parties inside the nation is fully exploited.

Estimating the Forest Micro-topography by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) Photogrammetry (무인항공기 사진측량 방법에 의한 산림 미세지형 평가)

  • Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV) photogrammetry provides a cost-effective option for collecting high-resolution 3D point clouds compared with UAV LiDAR and aerial photogrammetry. The main objectives of this study were to (1) validate the accuracy of 3D site model generated, and (2) determine the differences between Digital Elevation Model(DEM) and Digital Surface Model(DSM). In this study, DEM and DSM were shown to have varying degree of accuracy from observed data. The results indicated that the model predictions were considered tend to over- and under-estimated. The range of RMSE of DSM predicted was from 8.2 and 21.3 when compared with the observation. In addition, RMSE values were ranged from 10.2 and 25.8 to compare between DEM predicted and field data. The predict values resulting from the DSM were in agreement with the observed data compared to DEM calculation. In other words, it was determined that the DSM was a better suitable model than DEM. There is potential for enabling automated topography evaluation of the prior-harvest areas by using UAV technology.

  • In the case of Drone Photogrammetry, the "pixel to point tool" module of Metashape, Pix4D Mapper, ContextCapture, and Global MapperGIS, which is a simple software, are widely used. Each SW has its own logic for the analysis of aerial triangulation, but from the user's point of view, it is necessary to select a SW by comparative analysis of the coordinate values of geospatial information for the result. Taking aerial photos for drone photogrammetry, surveying GCP reference points through VRS-GPS Survey, processing the acquired basic data using each SW to construct ortho image and DSM, and GCPSurvey performance and acquisition from each SW The coordinates (X,Y) of the center point of the GCP target on the Ortho-Image and the height value (EL) of the GCP point by DSM were compared. According to the "Public Surveying Work Regulations", the results of each SW are all within the margin of error. It turned out that there is no problem with the regulations no matter which SW is included within the scope.

  • This paper is about the examination and selection of the special method applied to the railway tunnel which will lie under the road. Moreover, the road was constructed on the weak ground. Eventually, we select DSM, considering geological condition, stability during construction of the railway tunnel, and economic efficiency. The 3D-analysis, performed with PENTAGON-3D and MIDAS CIVIL-3D, shows that allowable standards are all satisfied. In the design of the railroad tunnel under the road at low depth, this paper will give useful data for the selection of the tunneling method.
