  • In this study, the kindergarten teachers and elementary school teachers were surveyed to see the level relevance of the kindergarten and primary school curriculums. As a result, first, the kindergarten curriculum was generally appeared appropriate to the level of kindergarten students. However, in practice, a significant amount of the first grade curriculum were taught in the kindergarten. Second, the variation of mathematical abilities among the begining students was very large, and this variation also affected the students' achievements. Third, both kindergarten teachers and elementary school teachers wished for adjustments of the level of mathematics curriculum.

  • Practical Mathematics is one of the career elective subjects in the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum for high school. This study examined how well the practical mathematics textbooks reflect the recommendations and visions suggested by related professions and organizations with respect to career preparation, especially for students enrolling in engineering industry-focused specialized high schools. Also, this study looked more closely into the contents of practical mathematics in terms of the consistency among different textbooks and the advancement from middle school contents in similar domains.

  • The purpose of this study is to help the efficient and practical teaching and learning of a mathematic subject in schools by comparing and analyzing the sixth and seventh curriculum of mathematics on the basis of the demand that the current curriculum should be improved, made, and adapted newly. This paper 1. studies the meaning of the curriculum and the theory of the curriculum of mathematics 2. looks into the history of the curriculum of mathematics from the first to the sixth. 3. compares an outline of the sixth and seventh curriculum. As a result, it exhibits the great difference in giving students choices for subjects and nullifying the meaning of the subject distinction, which means a new system with consistency based on the concept of a grade system instead of the present school system. 4. summarizes the result of comparing and analyzing the sixth and seventh curriculum which will be practiced from the year 2002 5. The beginning of the seventh curriculum in high schools will be from the year 2002 and the ministry of education is expected to take proper actions for its successful settlement, yet at this point this study gives some suggestions for its smooth and normal operation.

This study examined the issues and the problems related with the 7th optional mathematics curriculum, and gave the message about th: methods of implementation. For this, we analyzed the result of the questionnaire survey which consisted in the question about the 7th optional mathematics curriculum. 264 high school mathematics teachers are participated in this survey. We found the result that the 7th optional mathematics curriculum has the problem in contents and management. So, this study gave not only the problem but also the various concrete methods for management of the 7th optional mathematics curriculum. We hope that mathematics education members research and argue about the optional mathematics curriculum for next curriculum.

  • The history of mathematics is an important part of Chinese highschool mathematics curriculum. The current 2003 revised curriculum in China refers directly to the history of mathematics and presents it as one of the optional series. Moreover, they publish separate history textbooks for mathematics according to the 2003 revised curriculum. The importance of the history of mathematics in Chinese highschool curriculum, which was revised in 2017, has increased. This study aims to analyze the contents of the highschool curriculum and mathematics history textbooks, which were revised in 2003. Based on the results of analysis, we make suggestions on the use of mathematics history for teaching mathematics in Korea.

  • This study intends to suggest implications by comparing the high school mathematics curricula between Korea and the UK ahead of the 2022 revision of the mathematics curriculum. The UK has revised assessments to emphasize mathematics after age 16 since 2017. Thus, in this study, the contents of Key Stage 4, Core Maths and A-level, which correspond to the UK high school mathematics curriculum, were examined and compared with Korean high school math subjects. In the UK, mathematics education is more emphasized at the high school level. The national curriculum emphasized 'numeracy and mathematics', and students' selection for mathematics courses were expanded. In order to prepare for the future society, new mathematics subjects and evaluations were developed and implemented, and the A-level mathematics was improved. In addition, the subject-centered content was developed and continuously handled from Key Stage 3 to the high school stage. It was structured to facilitate mathematics' internal and external connection by linking it with the subjects of other areas.

  • There are some geometry achievement standards presented indistinctly in middle school mathematics curriculum revised in 2011. In this study, indistinctness of some geometric topics presented indistinctly such as symbol $\overline{AB}{\perp}\overline{CD}$ simple construction, properties of congruent plane figures, solid of revolution, determination condition of the triangle, justification, center of similarity, position of similarity, middle point connection theorem in triangle, Pythagorean theorem, properties of inscribed angle are discussed. The following three agenda is suggested as conclusions for the development of next middle school mathematics curriculum. First is a resolving unclarity of curriculum. Second is an issuing an authoritative commentary for mathematics curriculum. Third is a developing curriculum based on the accumulation of sufficient researches.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and implement an alternative elementary mathematics curriculum to enhance creative problem solving ability. The curriculum consisting of three main elements was developed. The three elements are content knowledge, process knowledge and creative thinking skills. The curriculum contents and the units were developed by mathematics educators, elementary educators, psychologists, elementary school teachers and curriculum specialists for 3 years. In order to test the effectiveness of the developed curriculum, the 5 units based on a problem-based-learning (PBL) method were implemented in a 5th grade class as an experimental group during the second semester. For the comparison group the ordinary lesson based on the 6th national mathematics curriculum was implemented during the same period. Performance assessment was developed and used for the pre and post test. T-est was use to testify that the effect of the curriculum is statistically signigicant. The results of the test showed that the experimental group progressed significantly in the creative problem solving ability, but the comparison group did not.

It is a "differentiated" curriculum. The basic directions of the 7th mathematics curriculum are as follows: 1. Offer various mathematical subjects for "Selective Educational Period" (Grades 11 and 12). 2. 30% reduction of mathematical contents. 3. The reconciliation of domain names of school mathematics. 4. The use of computers and calculators in mathematics classrooms.

  • In this study, considering the OECD's DeSeCo and 2030 projects, the curriculum to develop competency was expected to be more emphasized, and the evaluation standards of the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum for elementary school in Korea and the Australian curriculum were analyzed in depth. To this end, the capabilities newly emphasized in the OECD 2030 Project were examined in detail and examined how the Australian elementary school mathematics curriculum included capabilities in achievement standards and content descriptions. The achievement standards of elementary school mathematics curriculum in Korea and Australia were matched, and the contents of number and arithmetic domain were compared and analyzed, and the skill verbs included in the achievement standards were analyzed and compared to see how their competencies were reflected in the achievement standards. Based on the results of the analysis, implications for improving math achievement standards were derived to faithfully reflect the capabilities into the mathematics curriculum.
