Cultivating mathematical creativity is one of the aims in the recently revised mathematics curricular. However, there have been lack of researches on how to nurture mathematical creativity for ordinary students. Perspective of Realistic Mathematics Education(RME), which pursues education of creative person as the ultimate goal of mathematics education, could be useful for developing principles and methods for cultivating mathematical creativity. This study reanalyzes RME from the points of view in mathematical creativity education. Major findings are followed. First, students should have opportunities for mathematical creation through mathematization, while seeking and creating certainty. Second, it is vital to begin with realistic contexts to guarantee mathematical creation by students, in which students can imagine or think. Third, students can create mathematics in realistic contexts by modelling. Fourth, students create the meaning of 'model of(MO)', which models the given context, the meaning of 'model for(MF)', which models formal mathematics. Then, students create MOs and MFs that are equivalent to the intial MO and MF given by textbook or teacher. Flexibility, fluency, and novelty could be employed to evaluate the MOs and the MFs created by students. Fifth, cultivation of mathematical creativity can be supported from development of local instructional theories by thought experiment, its application, and reflection. In conclusion, to employ the education model of cultivating mathematical creativity by RME drawn in this study could be reasonable when design mathematics lessons as well as mathematics curriculum to include mathematical creativity as one of goals.
This study was intended to determine how developed Smart learning teaching-learning program on the unit of Solar system and Star affected on science-related attitude, science learning interest and academic achievement. The unit of Solar system and Star was selected among 5th grade science curriculum contents to design smart learning teaching-learning program. Smart learning instruction program utilized a various contents of smart equipment and made learners to do problem solving through their interaction and cooperation. The results of this study were as follows: First, smart learning instruction improved the science-related attitude and the science learning interest and the academic achievement of the experimental group students significantly. Sencond, the survey and the individual face-to-face data shows the positive effects of smart learning instruction. Especially, the satisfaction was high on the attitudes and interests in the classroom and the students regarded the classroom activities as interesting games by using the smart devices. On the basic of the conclusions, this work suggested the direction of the future studies, such as necessity of developments and researches on Smart learning teaching-learning program about other units or other subjects, such as measures of the increasing the intrinsic interest on science rather than Smart learning elicit simple interest and attitude.
This research aims to perform an in-depth investigation about meanings and essence of working as clinical research nurses in local general hospitals. In order to interpret and reveal the meanings of role experience, data were collected from objects of 7 participants for 3 months. Data were analyzed by ethnographic research tools of Spradley. Themes conducted from this study were 'new experience about social learning process' and 'joys and sorrows through study participants ', 'lack of specialized learning course in nursing curriculums' and 'roles of general research planner', 'one's own work space' and 'proactive work environment that is relaxing and filled with consideration for others', 'hardship of being temporary employees. Clinical research nurses have experienced expansion of roles through new social learning processes. Conclusively, this study will provide useful basic data to develop new curriculum about clinical research nursing for nursing students and to improve working conditions for clinical research nurses.e purpose of this study is to design and implement a sign language dictionary for the deaf to understand information communication terminologies. When the deafs who have difficulties in communication use the internet, they can get help from this dictionary in accessing various types of information and expressing their intension. In order for the deaf to utilize the internet as efficiently as ordinary people, they must understand information communication terminologies first.
The STS contents, emphasized in the 6th curriculum, in the chemistry textbooks(II) were analyzed. The STS contents in textbooks showed average value of 2.7%. The chapter of ‘chemical bond and compound' were included 3.8% of STS contents. And the chapter of ‘atomic structure and periodic table', ‘state of material and solution', ‘science of material', and ‘chemical reaction' contained 3.2%, 2.2%, 1.9%, and 1.9% of STS contents, respectively. When the STS contents were analyzed by STS topics of Piel, the results are as follows; 33.7% on effect of technological developments, 27.5% on environmental quality and utilization of natural source, 19.6% on human engineering, 13.8% on energy, and 5.4% on sociality of science. However, there were no topics on population, space research and national defense. When the STS contents were analyzed by student activities of SATIS, most of the activities were research and case study. There were few field activities of practical investigation, problem solving and decision making, research design and stimulation. There were no activities of role play.

An increasing number of educators emphasize the affective domain in learning. Affective and cognitive objectives interact and can not be separated from each other. Good emotions and feelings assist students achieving optimally in the cognitive domain. Emotional intelligence harmonizes well with an affective science curriculum. The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of EQ(Emotional quotient) improvement program on students' EQ, science achievement, the science related attitudes, and science anxiety. A pretest-posttest control group design was employed. Subjects were 168 male and female first grade students in a middle school. A control group was instructed with a traditional teaching method, and an experimental group was instructed using EQ improvement program. Two groups were treated for 42 hours during 14 weeks. Two way ANCOVA and correlation analysis was performed using the SPSS. The results indicated that students who received EQ program got higher EQ and their science anxiety was lowered than students who were in a control group(p<.05). EQ program was not significantly effective on science attitude than the traditional instruction but, in the domain 'the enjoyment of science class' it was effective(p<.05). EQ program was significantly effective on students' achievement than the traditional instruction(p<.05).

This paper described the types and characteristics of educational programs in major natural history museums of the world. Data were collected from the websites, annual reports, and written materials of the Natural History Museum at London, Australian Museum at Sydney, Field Museum of Natural History at Chicago, Smithsonian Museum at Washington D.C, Royal Tyrrell Museum at Canada and American Museum of Natural History at New York. As the result of this study, we presented ten types of educational programs, which were moveable museums, workshops, lecture/courses, festival/events, discovery activities, scientific exploration/research projects, field trips, youth curators/internship, loan materials and camp/tours. We also described the examples equivalent to each program type. The characteristics of educational programs provided by museums as informal learning settings were analyzed in terms of their themes, participation levels, connection with exhibition, relation to curriculum, and learning activity levels. Information in this paper will assist science teachers, museum educators and curators: (1) to design and implement various types and contents of educational programs; (2) to use characteristics of educational programs to assess and develop them; (3) to make important contributions to science education that involves the introduction of various scientific aspects and collections to the public, and the use of programs for science learning and teaching coherent to existing curricula.

Purposes of this study were to explore the process of experience that science teachers go through when participating in peer coaching meetings to improve teaching ability and to find out factors that affect each process of experience. The data were collected through recording of peer coaching meetings, videotapes of science class, and interviews. All the data were analyzed after transcription. The results of the study showed that even though Teacher K broke the ice and formed consensus among the peers by developing Content Representation (CoRe) at the beginning of the meetings, he became self-defensive rather than receptive of peers' opinions on the recorded class at the discussion session. But as the peer coaching went on, he realized that peer coaching was not about evaluation but rather on improving his teaching ability. In turn, he was able to look at his teaching in a more objective point of view and accepted suggestions from peer coaching discussion. The self-reflection of Teacher K acted as the key factor in the efforts to improve his teaching ability. He sought the concrete alternatives through the class analysis with fellow teachers and showed major changes in his teaching practice from the language habits, pronunciation, and speed of his speech to the interaction with students and class design. However, there was little change in knowledge of curriculum and assessment due to his strong orientation to improve students' grades as an academic high school teacher. Likewise, it was found that while peer coaching exert a strong influence on instructional methods and strategies of Teacher K, his strong orientation to improve students' grades hinders a balanced development of subcomponents of PCK.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of instruction applying 3D Planetarium Software (Starry Night Pro 6.0) in terms of the learners' science achievement, changes of attitude (attitude toward science as well as scientific attitude), and self-directed learning ability. Participants were 198 $8^{th}$ graders. This study adopted a quasi-experimental research design in which experimental group was taught with 3D planetarium software vs. control group with traditional lecture-centered teaching method for 6 hours. The effects were investigated by independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test The results are as follows. The instruction using 3D planetarium software was more effective than the traditional lecture-centered curriculum in science achievement and self-directed learning ability. However, there were not meaningful differences in analyzing attitudes related science, the results that were so effective in elevation for self-directed learning could be gained. Students were interested in instruction applying 3D planetarium software, which was helpful for them to understand the content knowledge. Results showed that instruction with 3D planetarium software applied was effective in $8^{th}$ grade science learning.
Until now, research to integrate art activities and science education have been making steady progress in the field of primary education and early childhood education that are directly involved in the art education of students. However, some science educators were interested in visualizing the artifacts by using design principles and experimental results through STEAM education. So, when conducting lessons for integrating science education with art activities, research is needed on the changing of the students' ability. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of science experiments in collaboration with art activities for students' self-directed learning skills and creative personality in elementary school. This study was applied to 30 students(16 male, 14 female) of 4th grade in Changwon C elementary school. The teaching materials of this study was extracted some of the experiments from the 2007 revised national curriculum in elementary science textbook and 'Teachers for Exciting Science'. Experimental treatment was performed over a total of 10 class 5 subjects and a pre-post test was conducted through G-TAGAS. As a result, science experiments in collaboration with art activities have improved significantly students' self-directed learning skills and creative personality.
In knowledge based society of 21c, engineers require not only their own speciality but also engineering basic competency such as creative thinking, the ability of working together, the ability of communication. Engineering colleges responsible for educating engineers consider developing curriculum including Engineering Basic Competency which is reflecting the needs of the times. By utilizing the accreditation programs of engineering education, UK-SPEC of UK Engineering Council, EA(Engineering Australia) standards/handbook of the Institute of Engineers Australia, O*NET of U.S. Occupational Network, this study generates core elements of engineering basic competency to prove the capability of engineering basic competency required to desired engineers. Core constituents derived from the study were categorized into 3 major areas of the basic engineering literacy in Humanities and Social Sciences(HSS), the ability of Creativity Engineering Design, Career development and each category and constituents were surveyed and checked by engineers in the field to deduce engineering basic competency that should be educated in the engineering college.
