  • Comtemporary popular culture fosters information exchanges through the development of digital products. Digital products may lead, or may be led, by outline popular culture. However, popular culture is possible off-line as well. There are certainly diverse classes of people who use digital products; however, the major users are those who mainly use the networks. These users have ample access to information and thereby lead popular culture and also are led by it. Surely, it is not only the popular culture that digital products take into consideration. In modern times, personal computers and the Internet are changing into privately owned digital products. Amid the collective tendency of popular culture, the owned products emphasize the fact that it is ′mine only.′It would be goad if ′interesting′materials, something that teenagers like, are added to digital products. Surely, there is a limit to ′interesting′ materials, but the materials of "S or energy," which has a certain sense of humor as well as giving out fresh energy, can be considered in digital product esign. It can be considered a modern pattern, or at least the addition of a new value, and not the old-time pattern of the "Ten Long-Living Animals." More popular and diverse colors are needed in the mix of digital products used by adults who are middle-aged or elderly. If altered colors are applied to the digital products as much as popular culture changes, it can assist the elderly with their weakened physical abilities.

  • Design prototype is described from the stately aspect as a principle of formative art, and from the shapeable aspect of physical feature. The prototype can be a common denominator which is contained in one nation's culture, art and life, as the thing which corresponds to the daily industrial craft, architecture and art's production intention and activity with the thought and background of the culture. We have formed the design prototypes with time and space in the process which absorbs and integrates the new culture. Modern Korean design's prototype can be seen in the late Chosun. As the upper culture and sub-culture were combined, the active culture was developed. Nobody can deny that Chosun's culture and art becomes a basis of today's design and Korea's beauty. In creating the design prototype, the natural environmental factors such as topography and climate are the most important. Such natural environmental factor led the design recognition of art and craft art, as well as an architecture and indoor environment's form. Korea design produced the artisan sprite which is devoted to a moral duty and instinct as our nation's nature and emotion, and ensured the emotional process not the rational process. So, it created naturalism which accepted the material and shape. Our design prototype's path tracking as an energy of future society's new design identity, can be the important theme for our design development.

  • The design trend of train nose has been developed through interrelation of social culture and trains. Along with the changes of social culture and train nose of the advanced railway countries (United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, Korea) have been divided into the 6 periods from the 1800's to 2008. First, the design changes on the Image scale, Munsell system, Design positioning map of train nose have been confirmed. Second, the design trend of train nose through social culture has been analyzed. Last, the research on the design trend on train nose of each country has been done. The result shows that the design trend of train nose is a progressively structural, practical, popular, humane, eco-friendly and state-of-the-art design trend.

  • With the acceptance of western culture, our traditional culture is in the crisis of disappearing. This is especially evident in the clothing and textile field. Therefore it seems essential to apply the traditional Korean aesthetics to our clothing. The purpose of this study is to reconstruct the types of design and analyse the characteristics of patterns expressed in traditional roof-tile. This study attempted to use the roof-tile patterns as motive for all tapestry and fashion design work to realize a creative expression of formative world through on-screen restructuring. The traditional roof-tile patterns were selected for this study because they must be the products created with our ordinary aesthetic values and techniques, and thus may represent our people's unique culture. After all, the expression for a work should be based not on simple representations of a given object but on restructuring of diverse unique forms according to worker's subjective senses. • The culture industrial design classification is the major factor to develop the various potential abilities, promote a new value to change and maximize the competitiveness of industry and the nation. Accordingly it is important to comprehensively understand and recognize the changing of this new design paradigm with its structural contents. In order to have universality data need to be made a classification system in advance for the policy, strategy, analysis indicator and assessing the culture industrial design classification. This study build CIDC that structure divided into three sections(A,B,C) with divisions(medium), classes(small) and groups(specific field) of numeric code from "01" or "001" and increasing their numbers. CIDC is set up in order to search for differences and referential character through comparisons with design-related classification systems as well as making a role of the basic under data for this field.c under data for this field.

  • The Hallyu wave based on K-pop and K-culture has increased the global interest in Korean culture. Therefore, to satisfy consumer demand, there is an attempt to develop a variable fashion design using traditional Korean culture. Transformable fashion design causes changes in form and meaning according to various situations and needs and can induce active participation of consumers. Therefore, we intend to propose a transformable fashion design that is based on traditional Korean culture but appears in a new form and meets the needs of consumers of fashion design. Among Korean traditional culture, wrapping cloths, bojagi are practically used by ordinary people until now, and their shape and use change according to the user's needs. This study intends to derive expression characteristics by examining the expression tendencies of bojagi and to develop transformable fashion designs through the derived data. The purpose of this study is to make and propose transformable fashion designs in real life using the expression characteristics of Korean bojagi. As the method of this study, we first conducted a literature review. Through this, a case study of empirical production was conducted in parallel with the development and production of transformable fashion designs using bojagi. A total of three illustrations and six variable fashion designs were developed. Two of the six works are transformable fashion design that change through movement and expansion of the square shape, the prototype of the bojagi, and two works are modular, bringing changes in function through combination and separation. The work was produced as a multi-purpose transformable fashion design that can be used as clothes or a bag.
