The major purpose of this article is to analyze Lee Jema's idea of 'cultivating the self,' and therefore reveal a difference between his idea and 'cultivating and nurturing (the mind)' shown in traditional medicine and Neo-Confucianism. For this purpose, I first analyzed 'cultivating and nurturing (the mind)' of traditional medicine and Neo-Confucianism and showed Lee Jema's originality by studying philosophical foundations of Sasang constitutional Medicine. The idea of 'cultivating and nurturing (the mind)' is transcendental in that it pursues the unity between humans and the principle of natural changes or the Heaven. However, Lee Jema developed his own medical theory by analyzing an ontological structure of human beings and nature and life, and reinterpreting four beginnings on the basis of experience. He reinterpreted humans as a being in the structure of time and space, and relationships with others. In addition, he reinterpreted nature and life and four beginnings as the capability of wisdom and action and the function of mind and body. Therefore, he tried to overcome a transcendental thinking to aim for the unity of humans with the Heaven. Also, he discovered that the most important reason for disease is biased emotions (moral/private) because biased emotions influenced the function of mind and body. The causal relationship is the basis of his medical theory. Therefore, his idea of cultivating the self is focused on being careful not to make emotions biased. This reveals that even though Sasang constitutional theory came from the traditional medical theory and Confucian morality, it developed on a different philosophical foundation. In this regard, I tried to differentiate Lee Jema's idea of cultivating the self from 'cultivating and nurturing (the mind)' which aims for the unity between humans and the principle of changes or the Heaven.

The volcanic ash soils from the Jeju province have low available phosphate because of the high phosphate fixing power of the soils. Phosphorus fertilizerwas dressed after cultivating green manure crops and before cultivating potatoes in order to investigate potato yields, the available phosphate contents, and phosphorus balance in the soils. Green manure crops cultivated in this study were hairy vetch alone and hairy vetch and rye. During potato cultivation, four treatments were conducted in the experiments; NF (non fertilizer), P fertilizer ($N-P-K=0-25-0kg\;10a^{-1}$), NK fertilizer ($N-P-K=18-0-19kg\;10a^{-1}$), and NPK fertilizer ($N-P-K=18-25-19kg\;10a^{-1}$). There were no differences in the yields of potato stem and tuber from the cultivation plots of different green manure crops. However, in the plots with single-sown hairy vetch and mixed-sown hairy vetch and rye, the yields of potato stem and tuber were higher in the P fertilizer plot than in NF plot. The yield of tuber among the treatments with mixed-sown hairy vetch and rye was the highest in the NPK fertilizer plot. The available phosphate content in soils initially increased with time in all plots, but began to decrease gradually after Oct. 18. The available phosphate contents were high in the plots for phosphate fertilization, and the difference in available phosphate content between non-phosphorus fertilizer plots and phosphorus fertilizer plots increased with time. In the single-sown hairy vetch and mixed-sown hairy vetch and rye plot, the phosphorus balances in NF plot and NK fertilizer plot were very low, while those in the P fertilizer plot and NPK fertilizer plot were high. In conclusion, available phosphate contents in soil and the potato yields were increased by phosphorus fertilization when potatoes planted after cultivating hairy vetch and rye together, compared to hairy vetch alone.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Haiku writing on mindfulness and empathy cultivating of the graduate students majoring in clinical psychology, and that it would also serve as enhancements of self-compassion and acceptance. Twenty-two graduate students in clinical psychology were to writing a Haiku poem about nature, the situation and themselves during a semester. Before and after the Haiku Writing Programme, mindfulness, empathy, self-compassion, and acceptance were measured and the subjective responses were analyzed after the programme was completed. Even in qualitative analyses, there are positive changes on those constructs in Haiku writing. Finally, the meaningfulness of the study, limitations, and recommendations for future work were discussed.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of applying jigsaw cooperative learning to basic nursing practicums on self-directed learning ability, self-efficacy, and learning outcomes. Methods: This study was based on a non-equivalent control group design, and the subjects were nursing students. The study allocated 30 people in the experimental group and 30 people in the control group, and jigsaw cooperative learning was applied to the experimental group for 2 hours every week for a total of 8 weeks. The traditional educational method was applied to the control group. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS v26.0. Results: The experimental group to which jigsaw cooperative learning was applied showed statistically significant differences in self-directed learning ability (F=4.49, p=.038), self-efficacy (F=6.15, p=.016), and learning outcomes (F=19.48, p<.001) compared to the control group. Conclusion: By applying jigsaw cooperative learning to basic nursing practicums, this study confirmed its effect not only on the effective domain such as self-directed learning ability and self-efficacy, but also on learning outcomes in the practical domain. We propose future studies apply jigsaw cooperative learning to various practice classes to achieve learning outcomes that focus on cultivating students' practical capabilities.
Purpose: This research delves into the relationship between self-leadership and procrastination behavior in banking distribution networks. Based on the self-determination theory, the study explores how organizational commitment mediates the relationship between these variables. Moreover, the research considers the vital role that intrinsic motivation plays in enhancing and reinforcing these connections. Research design and methodology: Using data from 384 bank employees and partial least squares structural equation modeling, the research found evidence to support the theory. This methodological approach enabled the investigation to uncover the intricate links between self-leadership, procrastination behavior, organizational commitment, and intrinsic motivation. Results: The findings strongly support the hypotheses, indicating a negative association between self-leadership and procrastination behavior at the workplace; conversely, a positive correlation was found between self-leadership and organizational commitment. The discovery further strengthens the results that intrinsic motivation amplifies the positive relationship between self-leadership and organizational commitment. Conclusions: This research underscores the importance of cultivating a culture of self-leadership among banking distribution network employees. By doing so, procrastination can be substantially reduced, enhancing both productivity and overall performance. The study's insights are particularly valuable for organizational leaders in the banking sector, as they provide actionable pathways to foster a more committed, motivated, and efficient workforce.
The purpose of this study is to discuss the current status and limitations of convergence education in universities and to explore new possibilities of engineering convergence education by analyzing characteristics and cases of self - design semesters as convergence education. As a result of this study, it was found that the education for fostering convergence ability is insufficient for the viewpoint of education. The types of convergence education could be classified into three categories. However, the concept and paradigm of convergence education has not been established precisely because it is made in a 'top-down' manner by the government. In addition, there was a limit of the lack of a foundation to operate the convergence education. However, A university's self-design semester, it shows the possibility of cultivating the overall convergence ability by giving autonomy and subjectivity to learners and through the acquisition of contextual knowledge and the ability of collaboration.

Dental education is gradually transitioning to competency-based education system, which aims to help dentists achieve certain core competencies by means of various systems, such as curriculum accreditation. This study examined satisfaction with dental school education and the differences in the perceived importance and self-assessment of competencies among general dentists, in an attempt to propose a desirable direction for dental education. A questionnaire was administered to new general dentists who graduated from a dental school within the past 10 years. The results of the survey were analyzed using the Importance-Performance Analysis to understand differences in dentists' perceptions. Overall satisfaction with education was low in terms of the curriculum's relevance to actual practice and its capacity for cultivating required competencies. Furthermore, many of the respondents strongly perceived the need to improve dental education. Additional investigations into the satisfaction with education showed no difference. Among the seven key competency domains, dentists perceived Health Promotion to be important and also assessed themselves as having high competence. However, regarding the perceived importance of the remaining domains, self-assessment of competence was low for Professionalism, Communication & Interpersonal Skills, Knowledge Base, Information Handling & Critical Thinking, Clinical Information Gathering, Diagnosis & Treatment Planning, and Establishment & Maintenance of Oral Health. The results of this study suggest that a competency-based education model should be developed and incorporated into dental education to set performance standards and to promote systematic self-assessment in order to foster the development of competence in dental students.
