  • This study aimed to develop organic design and propose references on an origin and developing factors of the organic design as looking into previous researches on furniture design. Expressive features with curves observed in the furniture design have been interpreted as organic meanings, and the study also approached grounds for the organic design elements while talking about developments of new materials and digital technology. In addition, the study presented a possibility explaining that these organic design elements might have been derived and developed from Art Nouveau. State-of-the art technology of the digital era in the 21st century has been built upon more creative concepts, and as this technology gets combined with the digital technology, it is, now, changing but also improving both morphological aspects and design methodologies. In the midst of this change, when it comes to factors to develop the organic design, creation of various new materials and state-of-the art digital technology are considered to be immediate factors to changes in the design. As morphological thinking using digital media develops, geometric thinking and such form are realized which eventually would lead us to furniture design of a new concept.

  • Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Russian public has been rapidly adapting to belated globalization, consistent with the ever-changing market economy. The purpose of this study was to investigate the social background and modern fashion of Russia after the collapse of the Soviet system and consider the characteristics of modern Russian fashion that have emerged in various ways amid the social changes. This study has significance in expanding the breadth of understanding the rapidly growing modern Russian fashion by considering modern Russian fashion and preparing the foundation while filling the need for research on the Russian fashion market, which has great potential. In the scope of the study, we investigated fashion from the post-2000s, when consumption began in earnest after Russia suffered a period of social and economic turmoil and switched to a liberalistic economy in 1991, to the present. In addition, we conducted an analysis focusing on the works of fashion designers who came from Russia and actively participated in work activities in Russia or abroad. Russian fashion designers reflect the unique cultural characteristics of Russia in their designs and incorporate Russian art into their designs to represent new fashion. Through continuous attempts for creative fashion design, modern Russian fashion will be developed in more diverse ways in the future. Thus, a follow-up study using various approaches to Russian fashion is needed.

Engineers design, develop, manufacture the products and services are strongly asked competency of different new creative practices. This means while industrial structure has been shifted from mass production to various allied production and social engineering based production, qualifications of engineers are required to individual creative competency as alternatives. In order to improve the competency, engineer become the creative people have ability to develop the professional knowledge competency and expand the competency to convergence the new product and services with sensing the life and social structure shift, human engineering, psychology, and emotion. • In this study, the STEAM elements and convergence types which appeared in the creative and convergent activities in authorized elementary school science textbooks for 5th and 6th graders were analyzed. For this study, creative and convergence activities presented in 9 different science textbooks for 5th and 6th graders were selected and the STEAM elements and convergence types were analyzed by each publisher, grade-semester, and science field. The results of this study are as follows. First, there was a large variation by publisher in the total frequency of STEAM elements and the frequency of each element in creative and convergence activities. Second, the ratio of convergence type consisting of two elements was very high, and the higher the number of fused elements, the lower the ratio appeared in overall. Third, the art (A) element had the highest frequency in all grade-semesters, and the technology (T), engineering (E), mathematics (M) elements differed in the distribution of frequency by grade-semesters. Fourth, the engineering (E) element in the 'integration' field, and the art (A) element in the fields of 'movement and energy', 'material', 'earth and universe', and 'life' had the highest frequency.

  • This paper intends to focus on the practical activities and historical significance of network art, that is, 'net art' as an artistic form that depends on network technology. This is because the appearance of net art, which constructs a new interactive art that cooperates and exchanges with each other beyond the boundaries of time and space, can be a contemporary alternative in overcoming the limitations of traditional art. Another important research area to be considered in this paper is net art curating, as well as considering the significance of net art in art history. As new media art that is defined as a 'process' rather than a complete object, net art is a digital art that requires functions such as aesthetic appropriation, dissemination, and mediation performed online, unlike physical presentations with high perfection in exhibition halls. It is accompanied by a new social and cultural curatorial. This appearance requires both artists and curators to reorganize the strategy that net art curating in technoculture should have. Therefore, this paper attempts to question the creative strategies of net art in the wave of globalization in the 21st century, and to examine the artistic meaning and critical value of the experimental net art curatorial method that emerged through the realm of new technology and media. For this purpose, this paper demonstrated key examples of net art works and exhibition projects that started with Fluxus in the 1960s and are spreading all over the world in the 2000s.
