The parts of equipment for semiconductor are protected by anodic aluminum oxide film to prevent corrosion. This study investigated contamination particle and cracking behavior of anodic oxidation in sulfuric acid containing cerium salt. The insulating properties of the sample were evaluated by measuring the breakdown voltage. It was confirmed that the breakdown voltage was about 50% higher when the cerium salt was added, and that the breakdown voltage after the heat treatment was 55% and 35% higher at $300^{\circ}C$ and $400^{\circ}C$, respectively. After heating at $300^{\circ}C$ and $400^{\circ}C$, cracks were observed in non cerium and cerium 3mM, and more cracks occur at $400^{\circ}C$ than at $30^{\circ}C$. The amount of contamination particles generated in the plasma is about 45% less than that of non-cerium specimens.

This research investigates the feasibility of using the thermoelectric power to monitor the thermal embrittlement in 2507 super duplex stainless steel (SDSS) exposed to a temperature between $280^{\circ}C$ and $500^{\circ}C$. It is well known that the precipitation of Cr-rich ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ phase as a result of the spinodal decomposition is the major cause of the embrittlement and the loss of corrosion resistance in this material. The specimens are thermally aged at $475^{\circ}C$ for different holding times. A series of mechanical testing including the tensile test, Vickers microhardness measurement, and Charpy impact test are conducted to determine the property changes with holding time due to the embrittlement. The mechanical strengths and ferrite hardness exhibit very similar trends. Scanning electron microscopy images of impactfractured surfaces reveal a ductile to brittle transition in the fracture mode as direct evidence of the embrittlement. It is shown that the thermoelectric power is highly sensitive to the thermal embrittlement and has an excellent linear correlation with the ferrite hardness. This paper, therefore, demonstrates that the thermoelectric power is an excellent nondestructive evaluation technique for detecting and evaluating the $475^{\circ}C$ embrittlement of field 2507 SDSS structures.
The formaldehyde is damage to the metal are known universally. However, the quantification of the damage level and degree of damage is not clear. This study was conducted to test the following steps using a gas corrosion tester, and then evaluated by the optical, chemical and physical measurement. First, it was confirmed the damage level of the metal specimen(silver, copper, iron, lead, brass) by the formaldehyde(0.5, 1, 10, 100, 500ppm). Second, weighted damage to the metal specimens were tested according to the temperature and humidity conditions under damage levels. Third, the damage of accelerated degradation metal specimens were examined under damage levles. As a result, at 500ppm / day, the optical, chemical and physical damage of lead have been identified, the optical damage of all metals are was observed. The optical damage of some specimens were weighted in $25^{\circ}C-50%$, $30^{\circ}C-50%$. Chemical damage to the lead specimen is 2.8 times, 1.3 times were weighted in $30^{\circ}C-80%$, $25^{\circ}C-80%$. Referring to formate ion concentration of the accelerated degradation metal, corrosion products of iron and brass were actived the reaction of the formaldehyde gas, oxide film of lead was blocked the reaction of formaldehyde gas.
Critical chloride content for corrosion initiation is a crucial parameter in determining the durability and integrity of reinforced concrete structures, however, the value is still ambiguous. Most of the studies reporting critical threshold chloride content have involved the experimental measurement of the average amount of the total chloride content at arbitrary time. The majority of these researches have not dealt with this issue combined with carbonation of concrete, although carbonation can significantly impact on critical threshold chloride content. Furthermore, the studies have tried to define the critical chloride content within the scope of their experimental concrete mix proportion at arbitrary time. However, critical chloride content for corrosion initiation is known to be affected by a lot of factors including cement content, type of binder, chloride binding, concentration of hydroxyl ions, and so on. It is necessary to define the unified formulation to express the critical chloride content for various mix proportions of concrete. The purpose of this study is to establish an analytical formulation of the critical chloride content of concrete. In this formulation, affecting factors, such as mix proportion, environment, chemical evolution of pore solution with elapsed time, carbonation of concrete and so on are taken into account. Based on the Gouda's experimental results, critical chloride content is defined as a function of $[Cl^-]$ vs. $[OH^-]$ in pore solution. This is expressed as free chloride content with mass unit to consider time evolution of $[OH^-]$ content in pore solution using the numerical simulation programme of cementitious materials, HYMOSTRUC. The result was compared with other experimental studies and various codes. It is believed that the approach suggested in this study can provide a good solution to determine the reasonable critical chloride content with original source of chloride ions, for example, marine sand at initial time, and sea water penetration later on.

This study is for the preservation plan of the tradition space which is performed by the damage status analysis through performing the value assessment. Especially, it is an experimental study for finding the process and methods by analyzing the major element for the value assessment of the selected object's damage status through the expert group who are systematized in their interest to conserve the traditional structure in traditional space. For that purpose, this study should be performed by the fundamental understanding of the physical property of the Supyo-bridge and the condition of the selected site's environment. Meanwhile, this study has been done that 'map of the damage status distribution' for making records of damage status of the Supyo-bridge on the property utilized field measurement adapted by photogrammetry and assessment guidelines, which are for investigation on damage status of objects that are standardized 'Raccomandazioni Normal' which could be said construction culture assets management guidelines of Italian government. As the result of investigation, damage status of each part in the Supyo-bridge was mostly composed of damage by sediment and corrosion and in case of 9 damage types including corrosion, in consideration of physical and chemical properties and distribution status of those elements, it is made an judgement that is not working as a threatened factor regarding security of the Supyo-bridge. On the contrary, for the improvement landscape, in case of 'Thermoclastism' phenomenon observed in 'upper floor', 'Myungae stone' and 'bridge pier' is that when taking it into consideration that is widely distributed concentrated on the bridge pier, surface reinforcement job along with elimination of damage part will be judged to be requested for earliest treatment.
In this study, a catalyst slurry was prepared with a Pt/C catalyst, Nafion ionomer solution as a binder, an ionic liquid (IL) (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate), deionized water and ethanol as a solvent for the application to polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs) at high-temperatures. The effect of the IL in the electrode of each design was investigated by performing a cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurement. Electrodes with different IL distributions inside and on the surface of the catalyst electrode were examined. During the CV test, the electrochemical surface area (ESA) obtained for the Pt/C electrode without ILs gradually decreased owing to three mechanisms: Pt dissolution/redeposition, carbon corrosion, and place exchange. As the IL content increased in the electrode, an ESA decrement was observed because ILs leaked from the Nafion polymer in the electrode. In addition, the CVs under conditions simulating leakage of ILs from the electrode and electrolyte were evaluated. When the ILs leaked from the electrode, minor significant changes in the CV were observed. On the other hand, when the leakage of ILs originated from the electrolyte, the CVs showed different features. It was also observed that the ESA decreased significantly. Thus, leakage of ILs from the polymer electrolyte caused a performance loss for the PEFCs by reducing the ESA. As a result, greater entrapment stability of ILs in the polymer matrix is needed to improve electrode performance.

Recently electric devices and fuel economy technologies of battery have influenced more deep cycle of dynamic behavior of battery. I also causes to reduce battery life-time. This study proposed that aging battery model is focused for increasing of battery durability. The stress factors of battery aging consist of discharge rate, charging time, full charging time and temperature. This paper considers the electrochemical kinetics, the ionic species conservation, and electrode porosity. For prediction of battery life cycle we consider battery model containing strong impacts, corrosion of positive grid and shedding. Finally, we validated that modeling results were compared with the accelerated thermal measurement data.

Recently, many countries are making efforts for the development of ocean resources because the necessity and importance of the ocean resources are increased. Underwater sensor networks have emerged as a very powerful technique for many applications, including monitoring, measurement, surveillance and control and envisioned to enable applications for oceanographic data collection, ocean sampling, environmental and pollution monitoring, offshore exploration, disaster prevention, tsunami and seaquake warning, assisted navigation, distributed tactical surveillance, and mine reconnaissance. The idea of applying sensor networks into underwater environments (i.e., forming underwater sensor networks) has received increasing interests in monitoring aquatic environments for scientific, environmental, commercial, safety, and military reasons. The data obtained by observing around the environment are wireless-transmitted by a radio set with various waves. According to the technical development of the medium set, some parameters restricted in observing the ocean have been gradually developed with the solution of power, distance, and corrosion and watertight by the seawater. The actual matters such as variety of required data, real-time observation, and data transmission, however, have not enough been improved just as various telecommunication systems on the land. In this paper, a wireless management system will be studied through a setup of wireless network available at fishery around the coast, real-time environmental observation with RF sensor, and data collection by a sensing device at the coastal areas.

Surface energy, being an important material parameter to control its interactions with the other surfaces plays a key role in bio-related application. Carbon films are found very promising due to their characteristics such as wear and corrosion resistant, high hardness, inert, low resistivity and biocompatibility. The present work deals with the deposition of carbon films using unbalanced facing target magnetron sputtering technique. The discharge characteristics were studied using optical emission spectroscopy and correlated with the film properties. Surface energy was investigated through contact angle measurement. The ID/IG ratio as calculated from Raman spectroscopy data increases with the increase in power density due to the higher number of sp2 clusters embedded in the amorphous matrix. The deposited films were smooth and homogeneous as observed by Atomic force microscopy having RMS roughness in the range of 1.74 to 2.25 nm. It is observed that electrical resistivity and surface energy varies in direct proportionality with operating pressure and has inverse relation with power density. The surface energy results clearly exhibited that these films can have promising applications in cell cultivation.
Cycle life test was carried out to evaluate the failure modes of the gel type nth batteries at $C_5$ currents and $100\%$ DOD. When the batteries were charged at constant voltage of 2.40 V and 2.50 Vi respectively, cycle lift was over 1,000 cycles. The batteries lost 426.4 g and 391.2 g of electrolyte far each case after the weight measurement. The battery charged at 2.50 V was shown to have a better cyclic performance than charged at 2.40 V, and the amounts of electrolyte loss was proportional to charge factor. After cycle test, the micro-structure of positive active material was completely changed and the corrosion layer of positive grid was about $50{\mu}m$. Failure mode of the positive plate of the gel type battery was a shedding of the positive active material, and the cause of discharge capacity decrease was found to be a electrolyte loss.
