사출금형 냉각회로의 최적설계자동화에 관한 연구 (A Study on automatic optimization of cooling circuit design in injection mold)

  • Cooling circuit of injection mold affects part quality and cycle time of injection molding process. Examination on mold cooling circuit is usually omitted in part design stage because cooling circuit is designed in the mold design stage. It is desirable to examine mold cooling circuit with respect to part quality in the part design stage. In order to make the examination process convenient and fast, cooling circuit design should be automated without intervention of skilled designer. In this study, optimization of cooling circuit design is automated with commercial softwares; Visual DOC and Moldflow MPI. Effect of initial value for optimization is examined for the optimization result.

  • The injection mold cooling circuit optimization was studied with a response surface method in the previous research. It took so much time to find an optimum solution for a large product due to an extensive amount of calculation time for the CAE analysis. In order to use the optimization technique in the actual design process, the calculation time should be much reduced. In this study, we tried to reduce the number of design variables with the concept of the close relationship between the depth and the distance of cooling channel. The optimum ratio of the distance to the depth of cooling channels for a 2-dimensional problem was 2.0 so that the optimum ratio was again sought out for 4 large automotive parts. Therefore, the number of design variables for the cooling circuit optimization can be reduced in half, resulting in much faster running time for the optimization as a design tool.

  • The paper presents the development of a cooling circuit design system that automatically creates 3D cooling circuit on a given section plane conforming to design specifications, generates 3D solid model of cooling line segments defined on a 2D sketch plane, and verifies interference of 3D cooling channel with the molding die surface. The system was developed mainly for designing plastic injection molding die of vehicular lamp, which helps the mold designer to rapidly construct cooling circuits but also reduce designer's unintended mistakes by conforming to the dimensional design specifications. It is used by an injection molding die manufacturing company in Korea, and reported approximately 20% reduction of cooling channel design time.

  • The cooling stage greatly affects the product quality in the injection molding process. The cooling system that minimizes temperature variance in the product surface will improve the quality and the productivity of products. The cooling circuit optimization problem that was once solved by a response surface method with 4 design variables. It took too much time for the optimization as an industrial design tool. It is desirable to reduce the optimization time. Therefore, we tried the back-propagation algorithm of artificial neural network(BPN) to find an optimum solution in the cooling circuit design in this research. We tried various ways to select training points for the BPN. The same optimum solution was obtained by applying the BPN with reduced number of training points by the fractional factorial design.

멀티패스 밀폐식 냉각탑의 성능특성에 대한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Study on Performance Characteristics of a Closed Circuit Cooling Tower with Multi Paths)

  • A closed circuit cooling tower having high temperature of cooling water and small water flow rate is investigated. To study the characteristics of the heat transfer of heat exchanges in a cooling tower with multi paths a numerical method is used. The results show that the staggered tube arrangements in a bank show better performance than aligned ones for temperature variation with various outer diameters of tube bundles. In case of one pass, the 15.88 mm tube case shows about 9% better performance than the 25.4 mm tube case. In two paths, the tube outside diameter of 15.88 mm show about 14.4% better results than the 25.4 mm diameter case.

Performance of a 2 Room Multi-Heat Pump with a Constant Speed Compressor

  • In order to improve the performance of a 2 room heat pump with a constant speed compressor, the optimum refrigeration circuit of the heat pump with different cooling and heating capacities is developed by applying capillary tubes. The refrigeration circuit is composed of four parts; a heating circuit, a cooling circuit, a by-pass circuit and a balance circuit. The performance of the 2 room heat pump are investigated from a rating experiment and a reliability experiment, using the calorimeter. Results of the rating experiment show that the capacity of heat pump is about $93\%$ of the design value. In particular, the capacity of the cooling single operation is about $13\%$ higher than the design value, and the capacity of the heating multi operation is about $5\%$ higher than the design value. From the reliability experi-ment, it is found that the lowest driving voltage of the compressor is about $75\%$ of the rating voltage. Also the compressor is reoperated normally under the flood back and the over load.

  • 다양한 곡률반경의 연속에 의하여 살 두께 차가 큰 jar50ml의 성형가공시간 단축과 품질향상을 위하여 금형을 급속 냉각시키면 void, 후로우 및 변형 등의 불량이 발생하게 된다. 제품내측과 외측의 온도조절을 충분히 할 수 있는 캐비티부와 코아부에 나선형 냉각회로 구조와 가열과 냉각을 자동 제어할 수 있는 시스템을 Jar금형에 적용함으로 우수한 품질과 생산성향상의 효과를 얻을 수 있다.

  • An equivalent circuit for the superconductor flux flow transistor(SFFT) was combined with high temperature cooling device, based on the analogy between thermal and electrical variables using the high-temperature superconductor(HTS), is proposed. The device is composed of parallel weak links with a nearby magnetic control line. A model has been developed that is based on solving the equation of motion of Abrikosov vortices subject to Lorentz viscous and pinning forces as well as magnetic surface barriers. The use of thermal models the global performance of thermal cooling circuit and signal system to be checked by using electrical circuit analysis programs such as SPICE.

  • In the study, Three-dimensional drawing parts for conformal cooling circuit cavity & core and their 3D Metal parts using DMLS(Direct MetalLaser Sintering) and NC integrated machining center were showned. For conformal cooling circuit cavity and core parts, I discussed its practicality to DMLS multiple machinins process introducing general manufacturing process and comparing with them.

  • The purpose of this study is to consider the performance and exhaust characteristics in the practical engine according to the cooling water temperature change of engine and to set up the optimum cooling condition and to obtain the optimum operating condition of thermostat in the cooling system. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, authors have used the following procedure. 1. This study is to investigate the influence of the cooling water temperature on the engine performance and the exhaust gas, authors regulated the cooling water temperature by using the special closing circuit and measured the concentration of exhaust gas by using the exhaust gas measuring system in the exhaust pipe. 2. This study carried out the experiment by regulating the opening degree of throttle valve and engine speed in the dynamometer and by changing the cooling water temperature, at the same time kept air-fuel ratio constant and made the spark ignition time MBT(Minimum spark advance for Best Torque) 3. This study measured the cooling water temperature by using the K-type thermocouple centring around the easy over-heated parts and by installing a special closing circuit. Therefore, in this study, authors intend to examine the influence of the cooling water temperature on the engine performance, exhaust gas and present the basic materials needed in the engine design including the optimum operating time control system for the cooling water temperature.
