  • In general, the forming process of the curved hull plates consists of sub tasks, such as roll bending, line heating, and triangle heating. In order to complement the automated curved hull forming system, it is necessary to develop an algorithm to classify the curved hull plates of a ship into standard shapes with respect to the techniques of forming task, such as the roll bending, the line heating, and the triangle heating. In this paper, the curved hull plates are classified by four standard shapes and the combination of them, or saddle, convex, flat, cylindrical shape, and the combination of them, that are related to the forming tasks necessary to form the shapes. In preprocessing, the Gaussian curvature and the mean curvature at the mid-point of a mesh of modeling surface by Coon's patch are calculated. Then the nearest neighbor method to classify the input plate type is applied. Tests to verify the developed algorithm with sample plates of a real ship data have been performed.

  • This paper examined the applicability of convex hull, which is defined as the minimal convex polygon including all points, to assessment model for effective region. In order to validate the applicability of the convex hull to assessment model for effective region, a genetic algorithm was adopted as a optimum technique, and an artificial neural network was adopted as a prediction model for material properties. The mix-proportion obtained from the proposed technique is more reasonable than that obtained from previous work.

  • RTLS (Real Time Locating Systems) are used to track and identify the location of objects in real time. RTLS generally consist of tags, readers and engine etc. and applied in various environments. One problem encountered in RTLS is constraints for setting up readers according to environments. In these challenging environments, it is necessary to develop techniques that can use mobile readers. As mobile reader increase, whole reader increase. And it is necessary to develop technique that can select useful readers. Selected readers including mobile readers take effect performance of RTLS. This paper introduces the technique for selecting good readers using the convex hull algorithm. The result show the good performance which based on tag's location error and reduce the networking overhead.

  • The proposed paper extracts the region of interest from the x-lay input image and compares it with the reference image. The x-ray image has the same shape, but the size, direction and position of the object are photographed differently. In this way, we measure the erection difference of darkness and darkness using the similarity measurement method for the same object. Distance measurement also calculates the distance between two points with vector coordinates (x, y, z) of x-lay data. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves the accuracy of ROI extraction and the reference image matching time is more efficient than the conventional method.

  • Reviews are very important for potential consumer' making choices. They are also used by manufacturers to find problems of their products and to collect competitors' business information. But someone write fake reviews to mislead readers to make wrong choices. Therefore detecting fake reviews is an important problem for the E-commerce sites. Support Vector Machines (SVMs) are very important text classification algorithms with excellent performance. In this paper, we propose a new incremental algorithm based on weight and the extension of Karush-Kuhn-Tucker(KKT) conditions and Convex Hull for online Review Spam Detection. Finally, we analyze its performance in theory.

  • This paper presents an optimum mixture design method for proportioning a concrete. In the proposed method, the search space is constrained as the domain defined by the minimal convex region of a database, instead of the available range of each component and the ratio composed of several components. The model for defining the search space which is expressed by the effective region is proposed. The effective region model evaluates whether a mix-proportion is effective on processing for optimization, yielding highly reliable results. Three concepts are adopted to realize the proposed methodology: A genetic algorithm for the optimization; an artificial neural network for predicting material properties; and a convex hull for evaluating the effective region. And then, it was applied to an optimization problem wherein the minimum cost should be obtained under a given strength requirement. Experimental test results show that the mix-proportion obtained from the proposed methodology using convex hulls is found to be more accurate and feasible than that obtained from a general optimum technique that does not consider this aspect.

  • In this paper, vision-based positioning algorithm for melon harvesting robot is presented. RGB value of the input image was converted into HSI value then, melon area was extracted after performing the binarization using HUE value. After morphological filtering was applied to remove noise, outermost boundary points were obtained using border following and convex hull method. Elliptical fitting for melons was perform by the RANSAC algorithm, the center point of ellipse, the length of the short and long axis, and rotation angle were obtained. We verified the effectiveness of the proposed method by various simulation experiments and confirmed actual feasibility of the proposed method by applying to the real melon.

  • In this paper, we propose the feature points extraction method of hand region using vision. To do this, first, we find the HCbCr color model by using HSI and YCbCr color model. Second, we extract the hand region by using the HCbCr color model and the fuzzy color filter. Third, we extract the exact hand region by applying labeling algorithm to extracted hand region. Fourth, after finding the center of gravity of extracted hand region, we obtain the first feature points by using Canny edge, chain code, and DP method. And then, we obtain the feature points of hand region by applying the convex hull method to the extracted first feature points. Finally, we demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through some experiments.

  • In this paper, we study the containment control problem for second-order multi-agent systems, which consists of multiple leaders and followers. The goal is to drive the followers toward the convex hull spanned by the leaders. Thus, the swarm behavior can be obtained by controlling the entire group by the leaders. This paper considers the leaders move at a constant speed and the followers have input saturations. Moreover, we assume that the followers can exchange information with neighbors, and only relative state information is available. Under these assumptions, we propose the Proportional-Integral based distributed control algorithm to solve the containment control problem with moving leaders. Moreover, based on Lasalle's invariance principle, the conditions for the control gains that guarantee the convergence of the followers to the convex hull spanned by the leaders are investigated, and it was shown that it can be designed only using the system parameter. Finally, the simulations are conducted to validate the theoretical result.

  • In this paper, we present an algorithm to determine the abnormal behavior through a CCTV-based behavioral recognition and a pattern of hand using ConvexHull. In the existing way that using CCTV for crime prevention, facial recognition is mainly used. Facial recognition is the way that compares the faces that are seen on the screen and faces of criminals for determining how dangerous targets are, however, this way is hard to predict future criminal behavior. Therefore, to predict more various situations, abnormal behaviours are determined with targets' incline of arms, legs and bodys and patterns of hand movements. it can forecast crimes when an acting has been getting within common normality out, comparing whose acting patterns with the crime patterns.
