  • Objectives: This study observes how providing family support - financial, emotional, and instrumental - is related to depression in babyboom women. Method: I analysed data from the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families 5th wave, collected by the Korean Women's Development Institute. The analysis was conducted using regression, t-test, Chi-square test, frequency analysis, and Pearson's correlation analysis. Results: Financial support for grown-up children, either married or unmarried, increases depression in babyboom women. In the dimension of instrumental support, caring for grandchildren reduces babyboom women's depression. It implies that contact with grandchildren is perceived as an emotional support rather than a physical burden. The results of this study also show that babyboom women are comforted by living with their own parents, but not by living with parents-in-law. The most impressive observation, however, is in the dimension of emotional support, which showed that the conversation with elderly parents reduces baby-boom women's depression, but that the conversation with married children increases it. The opposite directions in the effects seem to be related to the subjects of the conversations. The subjects of the conversation with children are mostly about problems and agenda of the children, while those with elderly parents are mainly about parents' health and care for each other. Conclusions: The results of the analyses suggest that babyboom women should become less involved with their grown-up children's lives. It also calls for the societal efforts to be put into building up the support system, especially for eco-boom generation, to reduce babyboomer's burden of supporting the children.

  • In order to analyze the factors influencing career maturity of general high school students, this study verified the moderated mediating effect of career exploration efficacy by the frequency of conversation with parents in the process of self-awareness and class attitude affecting career maturity. For the study of the second year of general high school, the results of verifying the moderated mediating effect using SPSS 22 and Model 7 of PROCESS macro from the results of the first year survey of the Korea Education and Employment Panel (KEEP) II are as follows. First, positive self-awareness and class attitude had a positive effect on career maturity. Second, career exploration efficacy mediates self-awareness, class attitude, and career maturity. Third, in the relationship between self-awareness and career maturity, there is no moderated mediating effect on career exploration efficacy by the frequency of conversation with parents. Fourth, in the relationship between class attitude and career maturity, a confrontation-moderated mediating effect on career exploration efficacy by conversation frequency with parents appears. Based on these studies, implications and future tasks for career maturity of general high school students were proposed.

  • This paper aims to design and implement a robot that will help teach children living habits and English conversation education in dual-income families using the open platform robot Q.bo one based on raspberry pi3 of a single board computer. The first function of life habit formation is to help children to wash their hands, to brush their teeth, homework and sleep regularly. The child is then photographed listening to the notification and acting so that the parent can identify and provide feedback. The second basic conversation education feature uses Google's DialogFlow to help children learn English naturally through simple English conversation through the robot. The two-functioning robot allows children from working families to feel secure by printing their parents' voices even when they are not at home. At the same time, it allows them to get into basic lifestyle, to have basic English conversation with robots, and to be interested in English early.

  • The purpose of this study is twofold: (i) to develop a teaching and learning plan and practical performance assessment tools for the improvement of teenager-parent communication and relationships as well as explore their effects on the communication in the everyday family life; and (ii) to find the underlying problems of teenager- parent communication through conversation analysis and to provide a improved dialogue model. We provided the experimental group with a performance task of communication training between teenagers and their parents in the real family situation while the control group practiced communication skills in a learning situation. However for both classes, before and after performance tasks were equally provided. The experimental group exhibited a longer conversation time with their parents, better communication skills, and higher degrees of relational satisfaction than the control group. Conversation analysis revealed that the experimental group reduced the use of blocking techniques in the teenager-parent conversations more than the control group, and all so raised the frequency of functional communications more than the control group. In both areas of communication in the experimental group was significantly improved, Most notably, a problem-solving case through no-lose conflict resolution methods was effective, succeeding by 70% in the e experimental group and 43.3% in the control group. Parents use blocking techniques like admonition, lecturing, blaming. sarcastic remarking, ordering and so forth, while teenagers use dispute, avoidance, blaming, and teasing in this order. The communication problems during the conversation process, teenagers' evasive and rebellious way of speaking instigates adverse communication responses from parents, so their conversation tends to unfold as ambiguous evasion opposed to: inquiring or evasion by short answers vs. ordering-preaching, or disputing vs. criticizing-making sarcastic, disputing vs. disputing-teaching, and criticizing vs. criticizing.

Methods: This study used the data from 2,578 fourth grade elementary school students from the first waves of the Korean Child Youth Panel Study(KCYPS) 2018. The data were analyzed using correlation analysis and stepwise regression analysis. Results: First, there was a significant corelation between children's happiness and socio-economic variables such as parental education level, family's income, and family type. Second, it was found that the main effect of all sub-factors of parenting attitude and conversation hours between parent and child on children's happiness was statistically significant. Third, only the interaction effect between structural parenting attitude and parent-child conversation hours was statistically significant. That is, children who had more conversations with parents with structural parenting attitudes providing guidelines ware reported to be particularly happy. Conclusion/Implications: This study is meaningful in examining overall quantitative and qualitative effects of the relationship between parent and child to understand parental factors impacting children's happiness.

  • This study suggestes that the improvement of oral care through on investigation of the effects of oral care on children by parents. This investigation was done on Sep. 29 1999 through Oct. 8 examining 376 of elementary, 1grade, 2grade, 3grade students in Kyunggi-Do. The content of the questions was analzed with a t-test and a one-way ANOVA; the relation to the oral care on children by parents with oral care behavior was analyzed by a Pearson's Correlation Coefficient. The results are as follow; 1) Statistically women were higher(F=-2.675, p<0.01). The average of the oral care of children was 2.34, man averaged 2.29, woman are raged 2.32. Statistically women were also higher(F=4.682, p<0.052). 2) The more educatior the mother had higher, the higher the grade. Statistically there was a difference(F=6.756, p<0.01. The oral care of children above Uni graduate(M=2.38), high (M=2:23), middle graduate(M=2.Z3). Statistically, the higher the academic degree, the more optimistic(F=4.114, p<0.05). 3) In the oral care on children by parents, when the conversation with the family was often 2.17, there was little difference(F=7.343, p<0.01). In the oral care of children was 2.45, there was little difference(F=7.343. p<0.01). As a result, the conversation with family affects the behavior. 4) In the oral care of children, if the food that they like was fruits, vegetables, and fresh food, the average was 2.37, very high. There was little difference in other cases(F=-3.179, p<0.05). We can conclude that fresh food affects the oral care of children. 5) In the oral care on children by parents, when the course of knowledge on the oral care was viewed by a grandfather(M=2.02), grandmother(M=2.05), father(M=2.14), mother(M=2.08). There was little difference(F=2.666, p<0.05). 6) In oral care, if the level of income was viewed high level(M=2.42), middle(M=2.34), 10w(M=1.88), there was a little difference(F=3.300, p<0.05). 7) The relation of the oral care on children by parents and the oral care was normal. In other words, the more management by parents, the more management by children.(p<0.01) Therefore in this study, the oral care on children by parents effect the oral care behavior of children. To improve the mouth health of children, the parents's interest in their children must be constant. Also, it is needed to develope an education program where parents and children can be educated.

  • The current study attempted to explain how family members' communication competence and personality such as locus of control, impulsivity, and optimism influenced their family relationship satisfaction. In addition, we examined which variables among these would predict highly the family relationship satisfaction by conducting the regression analyses. We also included demographic variables such as gender of offsprings, age and education level, and conversation time among family members as the control variables that may have influenced the family relationship satisfaction. Results showed that the higher the communication competence, internalness, and optimism were, the higher the family relationship satisfaction was whereas the higher the impulsivity was the lower the relationship was. for offspring, her/his own communication competence and impulsivity, the conversation time with her/his father, and the impulsivity of the parents in order were the best predictors of the their family relationship satisfaction. For father, his own communication competence, wife's impulsivity and optimism, and the conversation time with his offsprings in order predicted his family relationship satisfaction. For mother, her own communication competence and education level were the strongest predictors of her family relationship satisfaction. The results clearly demonstrated that the family members' communication competence and conversation time among themselves as well as their personality are playing an important role in explaining the their family relationship satisfaction. lastly, the limitations of the current study, and suggestions and implications for future studies were discussed.
