요통, 좌골 신경통 환자에서의 지속적 경막외 차단의 효과 (The Effect of Continuous Epidural Block in Lumbago and Sciatica)

  • Extradural block is a form of treatment described as early as the beginning of the present centuries. It has since had positive criticism from a number of authors in different countries. Epidural injections of steroids with or without local anesthetic have become an occasional method of conservative treatment in sciatica & lumbago, especially in acute case. We assess the results of continuous epidural block with steroids and local anesthetics in sciatica & lumbago. From July 1994 to June 1995, we treated 46 case of lumbago and sciatica using continuous epidural block with steroids and local anesthetics. After placement of 17-Gauge Tuohy needle in the epidural space by the technique of loss of resistance, 0.25% bupivacaine 5 cc and triamcinolone 40 mg was administered and then epidural catheter was placed and connected to multiday infusor(Paragon) using 1% lidocaine with continuous infusion rate of 1 ml/hour. Usually, the catheter was removed after 1~2 weeks and then treated with the physical therapy. At the time of patient's discharge, 69.5% of all cases showed excellent or good results. Of particular note, 26 of the 46 cases were followed up by telephone. At present, in using Of particular note, 26 of the 46 cases were followed up by telephone. At present, in using continuous epidural block procedure, a relief in symptoms showed in 65.5% of these 26 cases. Continuous epidural block provides shortening of the recovery time from pain, avoidance of long period bed rest and early physical therapy and exercise. Therefore, continuous epidural block is simple and safe in the treatment of lumbago and sciatica, especially in acute phase.

폐용제에 함유된 입자의 건조 및 분리용 연속식 순간 진공건조시스템 해석 (Analysis of a Continuous and Instantaneous Vacuum Drying System for Drying and Separation of Suspended Paricles in Waste Solvent)

  • 본 연구는 입자가 혼합된 용제를 이중판형 열교환기 내에서 가열 및 증발과정을 통해 건조이자와 용제로 분리하여 회수하기 위한 연속식 순간 진공건조 시스템 해석에관한 것이다. 진공건조시스템은 용제 공급펌프, 이중관형 열교환기, 진공 스프레이 챔버 및 응축기로 구성된다. 연속적으로 공급되는 용제는 이중관형 열교환기 내에서 가열, 팽창 및 증발되며 관 출구부에서 팽창된 증기가 진공 스프레이 챔버 내로 분사되고 증기는 응축기로 수송되어 용제로 회수되고 입자는 관성력에 의해 증기로부터 분리되어 건조된다ㅣ. 안료입자가 함유된 벤젠 및 알킬벤젠의 분리 및 회수성능 실험을 수행한 결과, 습분양 1.1%로 건조된 안료입자를 94% 회수하였고, 99.9 wt%의 고순도 벤젠을 88% 회수하였다. 평균직경이 $6.5\mu\textrm{m}$인 안료입자를 진공건조시스템의 이중관형 열교환기에서 관출구부의 고속 분사에 의한 폭발적 분산력에 의해 입경이 14%감소된 $5.6\mu\textrm{m}$ 크기의 건조 안료입자를 회수하였다. 따라서 진공건조시스템은 용제에 함유된 입자를 건조 및 분리하여 미분제 제품으로 히수하는데 효율적이며 폐용제 정제용으로 적용이 가능하다.

이온교환 칼럼 크로마토그래피를 이용한 난백에서 Lysozyme의 연속추출 (Continuous Separation of Lysozyme from Egg White by Ion Exchange Column Chromatography)

  • 식품 및 의약품 원료로 이용되고 있는 Iysozyme을 난백으로부터 이온교환 크로마토그래프를 이용하여 연속추출하였다. 사용된 수지는 지금까지 수율, 순도, 작동용이성에서 가장 효과적이라고 밝혀져 있는 Duolite C-464 양이온교환수지를 선택하여 $Na^+$형으로 $pH\;7.9{\pm}0.1$로 평형화하여 사용하였다. 조제용 자동 Liquid Chromatography(LC) system(column size ; i.d. 50 mm, bed volumn ; 1020 ml)에서 수지 평형화, 난백접촉, rinse, lysozyme용출 순으로 cycle을 연속적으로 반복하면서 시행하고 그 재현성을 관찰하기 위해 각 cycle별 rinse끝점과 용출끝점의 UV level을 비교하였다. 그 결과 rinse끝점은 19 cycle까지 30% 이하를 유지하였다. 용출 끝점은 17 cycle까지는 30% 이하에서 비교적 안정하였으나 18 cycle 이후 부터는 50% 이상으로 용출능력이 현저하게 감소하였다. 또한, 회수율 비교에서 17cycle까지는 90% 이상을 유지하다가 18cycle에서는 72%, 19 cycle에서는 65%로 격감하였다. 본 추출 정제 lysozyme은 전기영동상 단일 band로 나타났고, densitometer로 측정한 순도는 99% 이상이었다.

침몰선 잔존유 회수작업 평가모듈 개발에 관한 연구 (Assessment Module Formulation for the Trapped-Oil Recovery Operations from Sunken Vessels)

  • 각종 해양사고로 인해 유조선, 대형 여객선 및 화물선 등이 해저에 침몰하는 경우 선적된 화물유 또는 연료유는 해양환경에 대한 직접적 위험요소로서 안전하고 신속한 제거가 요구된다. 침몰선 잔존유 회수작업에서는 국내외 구난업체가 현장여건을 반영하여 다양한 방법 및 기술을 활용하고 있으나 작업과정 전반에 대한 합리적인 평가모듈에 대한 연구는 현재까지 비교적 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 잔존유 회수작업 평가모듈 설계를 목적으로 상이한 작업환경에서 수행된 작업사례들의 자료를 조사하여 작업과정 단계를 사전준비, 작업실행, 작업완료 단계로 구분한 후 세부공정별 핵심요인을 도출하였다. 이후 이 핵심요인들을 평가할 수 있는 평가지표들을 구성하는 방식으로 평가모듈을 설계하였다. 평가에서 특정인의 주관적 의견을 최대한 배제하기 위해 최대한 계량적으로 평가할 수 있는 데이터 지표들로 평가항목을 구성하였으며, 잔존유 회수작업 사례에 적용하여 결과를 분석하고 그 유용성을 일부 검증하였다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 침몰선 잔존유 회수작업 방법 및 기술 평가모듈을 각 회수작업의 사전 또는 사후 적정성을 검증하는데 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 또한, 과거 또는 미래의 여러 작업사례 평가데이터 축척 및 피드백이 지속적으로 이루어진다면 잔존유 회수작업 전반에 대한 안전성, 효율성, 현장적용성 제고에 기여할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

A simple and efficient data loss recovery technique for SHM applications

  • Recently, compressive sensing based data loss recovery techniques have become popular for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) applications. These techniques involve an encoding process which is onerous to sensor node because of random sensing matrices used in compressive sensing. In this paper, we are presenting a model where the sampled raw acceleration data is directly transmitted to base station/receiver without performing any type of encoding at transmitter. The received incomplete acceleration data after data losses can be reconstructed faithfully using compressive sensing based reconstruction techniques. An in-depth simulated analysis is presented on how random losses and continuous losses affects the reconstruction of acceleration signals (obtained from a real bridge). Along with performance analysis for different simulated data losses (from 10 to 50%), advantages of performing interleaving before transmission are also presented.

A novel 622Mbps burst mode CDR circuit using two-loop switching

  • This paper describes a novel burst-mode clock and data recovery (CDR) circuit which can be used for 622Mbps burst mode applications. The CDR circuit is basically a phase locked loop (PLL) having two phase detectors (PDs), one for the reference clock and the other for the NRZ data, whose operations are controlled by an external control signal. This CDR was fabricated in a 1-poly 5-metal $0.25{\;}\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS technology. Jitter generation, burst/continuous mode data receptions were tested. Operational frequency range is 320Mhz~720Mhz and BER is less than 1e-12 for PRBS31 at 622Mhz. For the same data sequence, the extracted clock jitter is less than 8ps rms. Power consumption of 100mW was measured without I/O circuits.

UASB 공정에서 불활성화된 입상미생물의 활성변화 (Variation of Activation of Inactivated Granular Microorganisms in the UASB Process)

  • The recovery posibility of granular sludge inactivated due to high organic loading at stawrt-up stage of UASB reactors was examined at various storage periods while kept at a constant temperature of $35^{\circ}C$. It was noticed that the inactivated sludge kept without feeding recovered microbial activity much faster than that kept with continuous feeding. The activity of the sludge gradually recovered to the point where the organic removal rate of 0.15g of 0.15g COD/g VSS-day at the inactivated stage had changed to 0.36g COD/g VSS-day after 60 days of storage without feeding, which was similar to the active granular sludge activity of 0.38g COD/g VSS-day. There was no significant different in the characteristics of activity recovery between granular sludge and smashed sludge.

공기 중 박테리아 포집을 위한 습식 사이클론의 CFD 해석을 이용한 설계 및 성능 평가 (Design and Performance Evaluation using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis of Wetcyclones for the Collection of Airborne Bacteria)

  • We present the development of a wetcyclone sampler designed for the sampling of airborne bacteria. The wetcyclone design involves a combination of two traditional cyclone shapes and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis to validate its effectiveness in terms of pressure drop and collection efficiency. The wetcyclone exhibits a collection efficiency of over 90% for bacteria, specifically targeting Staphylococcus aureus. Additionally, the wetcyclone enables continuous bioaerosol sampling using a liquid medium (deionized water), demonstrating a concentration ratio exceeding >105 and a stable microbial recovery rate of 81.9%. The application of real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and the colony counting method ensures precise measurement of the concentration ratio and microbial recovery rate.

  • Disasters that occur most frequently in rural areas are drought, flood, damages from wind and cold weather. In order to overcome the damage caused by natural disasters, various projects related to safety and disaster prevention. However, Government-centered disaster recovery operating system showed difficulties to utilize the natural scenery and ecological environment of rural villages. So the participation of the residents is necessary. Therefore, this study aims to find a more effective disaster recovery direction by suggesting the application method, Inhabitant-friendly improving a village environment contents in Rural Disaster Villages, for continuous disaster management. The research methods were literature analysis, interviews, and expert discussion. As a result, it was found that the rural disaster village environmental improvement facilities, inhabitant-friendly recovery system, and inhabitant-friendly village environment contents and suggests a application method of inhabitant-friendly village environment contents. The research will be used as basic data when preparing a guide for improving the environment for residents in rural villages.

SDN에서 데이터 평면 장애를 해결하는 빠른 우회 기법 (Faster Detouring for Data Plane Failures in Software Defined Networks)

  • Successful deployment of the Software Defined Network (SDN) depends on its ability to cope up with network failures. There are various types of failures that may occur in an SDN. The most common are switch and link failures. It is necessary to recover the network from failures for a continuous service availability. But for the real-time services fast recovery from the failure is required to minimize the service disruption time. In the proposed work, we focused on minimizing the recovery time after the failure is detected. Once the failure is detected, the controller involvement is needed to dynamically reroute the failure disrupted flows from the failed component to an alternate path. The aim of the proposed scheme is to provide a traffic management scheme which can react to the dynamic network events by rapidly modifying the forwarding behavior of the switches for faster in-band network adaptability. The proposed scheme (1) Considers the shared data and control path delay (2) Optimally utilize the network resources (3) Eliminates the need of constant monitoring overhead at the controller which results into faster detouring and ultimately rapid recovery.
