The bio-Sensors, which are sensing the vital signs of human bodies, are largely used by the medical equipment. Recently, the sensor network technology, which composes of the sensor interface for small-seize hardware, processor, the wireless communication module and battery in small sized hardware, has been extended to the area of bio-senor network systems due to the advances of the MEMS technology. In this paper we have suggested a design and implementation of a health care information system(called u-EMS) using a bio-sensor network technology that is a combination of the bio-sensor and the sensor network technology. In proposed system, we have used the following vital body sensors such as EKG sensor, the blood pressure sensor, the heart rate sensor, the pulse oximeter sensor and the glucose sensor. We have collected various vital sign data through the sensor network module and processed the data to implement a health care measurement system. Such measured data can be displayed by the wireless terminal(PDA, Cell phone) and the digital-frame display device. Finally, we have conducted a series of tests which considered both patient's vital sign and context-awared information in order to improve the effectiveness of the u-EMS.
The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends and make suggestions regarding the future of information technology (IT) in the fashion industry. In this study, 437 papers written regarding IT fashion from five major journals published between 2000 and 2011 were examined. The research areas were then organized by subject and keyword, and divided into 16 high-context categories. Two IT fashion maps were constructed, one from a fashion consumer's perspective, and the other based on the fashion industry's supply chain. This study identified important trends in IT fashion such as: 3D scanners, 3D digital renderings of the human form, 3D digital garments, smart garments, mass customization, production automation, online shopping, home shopping, online communities, e-commerce, digital media, virtual reality, e-tail, the digital generation, E-CRM, and education. Data from body scans was collected and applied to production, and research on smart textiles was also carried out. As for IT fashion's service areas, the majority of the research focused on online shopping or online communication. Additionally, research done on avatars and cyber space, and studies on social networking services are shown. The results of this study indicated that a new field of research has opened and that current research has been developing. Also, this study showed what is needed to expand and strengthen IT fashion.

Hypervisor virtualize hardware resources to utilize them more effectively. At the same time, hypervisor's characteristics of time and space partitioning improves reliability of flight software by reducing a complexity of the flight software. Korea Aerospace Research Institute chooses one of hypervisors for space, XtratuM, and examine its applicability to the flight software. XtratuM has strong points in performance improvement with high reliability. However, it does not support SMP. Therefore, it has limitation in using it with high performance applications including satellite altitude orbit control systems. This paper proposes RTEMS XM-SMP to support SMP with RTEMS, one of real time operating systems for space. Several components are added as hypercalls, and initialization processes are modified to use several processors with inter processors communication routines. In addition, all components related to processors are updated including context switch and interrupts. The effectiveness of the developed RTEMS XM-SMP is demonstrated with a GR740 board by executing SMP benchmark functions. Performance improvements are reviewed to check the effectiveness of SMP operations.
This study was conducted to propose measures to improve crisis response to environmental issues by analyzing the news big data on the 'tap water larvae' situation and identifying related major keywords and topics. To accomplish this, 1,975 cases of 'tap water larvae' reported between July 13 to August 31, 2020 were divided into three periods and analyzed using topical modeling techniques. The analysis output 15 topics for each period. According to the result, the 'tap water larvae' incident, as reported in the media, is divided into the occurrence, diffusion, and rectification stages. The government's response and civilian risk consciousness and reaction could also be seen. Based on the result, the following measures to respond to environment risk is proposed. First, it is necessary to explore the various intertwined context with the 'tap water larvae' incident at its core and develop responsiveness to environmental problems through education which forms integrated views. Second, a role to monitor the environment must be implemented and civilian-participated environmental information must be shared through the application of internet communities. Third, the cultivation and deployment of environmental communicators who provide and communicate fast and accurate environment information is required. This study, as the first in Korea to use the topic modeling analysis method based on big data related to 'tap water larvae', has academic significance in that it has empirically and systematically analyzed environmental issues which appear as unstructured data. It also political significance as it suggests ways to improve environmental education and communication.
The virtual reality (VR) cartoon is a format of VR contents that leverage the characteristics of webtoons that provides the simple story line and graphical storytelling tools to strategically surmount limitations of VR contents design. The VR cartoon enables people to experience the imaginary three-dimensional space in the webtoon as a real space by the transformation of webtoon contents through VR prototyping. The VR cartoon successfully presents focused environment where people can readily pay attention to the contents without notable motion sickness. People have been familiar with the storytelling strategy in the context of published cartoons and webtoons, likely we've understood the narrative of a movie through the continuous scenes projected in the screen. Indeed, it has been recognized as a popular toolset of communication, where visual images are sequentially delivered by replacing multiple planar spaces to tell a story narrative. While there are discrete panels with the time and space resolution in the graphical cartoons, people can distill a commit closure based on their past experiences. This is a typical "grammar" of the cartoon, which can be extrapolated to the VR cartoon that provides a seminal storytelling strategy. In this article, we review how the storytelling strategy in webtoons has been transformed into that in VR cartoons, and analyze the key components of VR cartoons. We envision that our research can potentially create keystones to produce variety of new VR contents by reflecting various narrative media including cartoon as a 'sequential art'.
Communication of art and the expansion of roles are some of the important discourses of art. For a while, many attempts were made to overcome the enjoyment of art by only a few elites and the alienation of roles. In the meanwhile, due to its formative nature, media art has contributed to the various expansion of roles as a familiar art in society and by communicating with the public in various play contents and industrial context. This study will take a step further and examined whether media art can assess and be used in social issues through the characteristic analysis of 'media art information visualization.' The general field of information visualization only focuses on the clarity of information delivery, so it is effective for intuitively identifying various information. However, stiff visual expression must improve user-friendly functions in an era in which users' sensibility is increasing, and it only focuses on the effectiveness of information delivery that its secondary social problem such as personal information protection must be compensated. Thus, this research analyze the characteristics of case works to examine how the visualization of media art information can approach social problems creatively, seek the expansion of the role of art and compensate the areas that general information visualization is missing.
Purpose - Recently on-the-job training (OJT) has become the most preferred training and development method with the emergence of the concept that workplace is the best place where learning take place. But many researchers argue that OJT is not helpful for the performance of organization because OJT is not systematic and mostly depend on quality of trainer. Since Jacobs & McGriffin introduced S-OJT (structured OJT), there has been plenty of researches. But most of the researches have focused mainly on employee's attitude and organizational performance caused by S-OJT and neglected a holistic approach of S-OJT as a system. S-OJT need to be analyzed comprehensively to understand training performance because S-OJT is operated as a system consist of input, process, and organizational context. Although S-OJT may create unintended consequences, there were few researches to explore them. Thus, the purpose of this study is to identify the critical success factors for S-OJT and to find unintended consequences of it. Research design, data and methodology - We conducted a case study on M business unit of A company which developed and has been implementing S-OJT program for years. We designed and prepared the process, collected and analyzed data for the study. We set the theoretical framework to analyze the case after reviewing theories and previous studies on S-OJT. We collected and analyzed internal reports and interview results of the employees of the M business unit. We tried to collect as many information as possible to secure the validity of the research results. Results - The critical success factors identified in the study are as follow. First, it is important to select and train proper trainers for S-OJT. Second, it is needed to develop structured training module. Third, organization have to use effective communication system like on-line community. Forth, trainer should have proper skills for training such as facilitating skill, coaching skill, and delivering skill etc. Fifth, proper learning place is needed. Sixth, organizational support is important especially, immediate supervisor support and concern is critical. Eleventh, it is needed to consider situational contexts. Among them, overload to the trainer will affect the effectiveness of S-OJT. In this study, we found an additional unintended consequence. "To teach is the best way to learn." Experience as a trainer give employee an opportunity to organize one's knowledge and skill and to attain facilitation skill, coaching skill, and relation skill. Thus, organization may use S-OJT to train the potential talent. Conclusions - Many organizations introduced S-OJT to train the newcomers because S-OJT drew attention as an important tool to develop employees. Following this trend, there has been increasing number of researches to find the results of S-OJT and identify the determinants of S-OJT success. However, most of the researches concentrated on finding effects of some factors neglecting holistic approach. This study tried to identify critical success factors affecting effectiveness of S-OJT by using case study and find additional unintended consequence. The results of the study will be useful for organizations which have a plan to adopt S-OJT.
Companies as well as the Korean government show growing attention to the Smart Work which is enabled by the ongoing development of information and communication technologies (ICTs). Smart Work can be regarded as an extended version of telecommuting or distance work and defined as "working efficiently and conveniently regardless of time and place utilizing ICTs." Smart Work currently puts its emphasis on the work and life balance by changing the ways of working. Despite its emphasis on work and life balance, it is expected the boundaries between work and nonwork would blur, work and nonwork boundaries may become more permeable, and role conflicts would occur more times than before. To find ways to enhance work and life balance while escaping from expected conflicts in the context of Smart Work, we investigate the work and nonwork boundary strengths and the factors affecting them. In the course, we consider asymmetries between the work and nonwork boundary strengths and bidirectional nature of work and nonwork permeability. We develop two research models having work and nonwork boundary strengths as respective dependent variables. We empirically found that work role identification and nonwork-to-work permeability had influences on the boundary strength at work and that work-to-nonwork permeability affected the boundary strength at nonwork. However, nonwork role identification did not show any significant influence on the boundary strength at nonwork.
The G20 summit is the premier forum for international economic cooperation and it will be held in Seoul in November 2010. However, protests are expected during the Seoul summit, as a part of the deepening global war against capitalism. The Korean Police need to deal with these protests effectively in order to provide security to the participating leaders and make the meeting run on wheel as planned. The current study attempts to analyze the death of Ian Tomlinson who died in the context of a heavily policed protest during 2009 G20 London summit. There are number of unique features regarding this incident, such as the public scrutiny of police conduct through video footage, the police use of excessive force, and the process to hold the police to account for misconduct. This incident caused serious damages to the public's faith in the British police. Based on the analysis, this study found that during the G20 London summit British police had the problems such as the lack of the clear standards on the use of force, improper training in the use of force, poor communications with the media and protesters, inappropriate use of the close containment tactic, and the failure to display police identification. Therefore, this study suggests the inducement of peaceful protests, the adoption of a set of standards on the use of force, public order training that is more directed and more relevant to the public order challenges facing the Korean police, improvement of the communication with the media and protesters, enhancement of individual officer's accountability as public order policing strategies for G20 Seoul summit meeting. However, the most fundamental principle is that Korean police must place a high value on tolerance and winning the consent of the public.

In recent years, because of the development of ubiquitous technology in healthcare research is actively progress. Especially, healthcare service area is change to home for the elderly or patients from hospital. The technology to identify residents in a home is crucial for smart home application services. However, existing researches for resident identification have several problems. In this case, residents are needed to attach of various sensors on their body. Also relating private life, it is difficult to apply to resident's environment. In this paper, we used constraint-free sensor and unconscious sensor to solve these problems and we limited using of sensor and indoor environment in the way of working economical price systems. The way of multi-resident identification using only these limited sensors, we selected elements of personal identifications and suggested the methods in giving the weight to apply these elements to systems. And we designed the SABA mechanism to tract their location and identify the residents. It mechanism can distinguish residents through the sensors located each space and can finally identify them by using the records of their behaviors occurred before. And we applied the mechanism designed for applications to approve this location tracking system. We verified to the location tracking system performance according to the scenario.
