Extraordinary phenomena related to the transmission of light via metallic films with subwavelength holes and grooves are known to be due to resonant excitation and interference of surface waves. These waves make various surface structures to have optically effective responses. Further, a related study subject involves the control of light transmitted from a single hole or slit by surrounding it with diffractive structures. This paper reports on the effects of controlling light with a periodic groove structure with Fresnel-type chirping. In Fresnel-type chirping, diffracted surface waves are coherently converged into a focus, and it is designed considering the conditions of constructive interference and angular spectrum optimization under the assumption that the surface waves are composite diffracted evanescent waves with a well-defined in-plane wavenumber. The focusing ability of the chirped periodic structures is confirmed experimentally by two-beam attenuated total reflection coupling. Critical factors for achieving subwavelength foci and bounds on size of focal spots are discussed in terms of the simulation, which uses the FDTD algorithm.

In this paper, we propose a new close combat expert system to overcome the difference of combat damage assessments between combat units belong to their own model in Combined Arms Integrated Interoperability System(CAIIS) which will be deployed in the early future. When it happens to engage in a battle among combat units belong to their own model in CAIIS, the result of damage assessment is different severely. This is related to CAIIS's confidence and need to be overcome. We propose the expert system for close combat damage assessment with a decision tree. Simulation results show that the proposed expert system is valid well. Because the proposed expert system is made not as an independent system but as an inner module type of CAIIS, CAIIS will be simpler system than we expect. And we will hope to reduce the cost of CAIIS.
The HLA is the simulation architecture standard that the civilian and military simulation communities are deeply interested in. We can find various successful practices applying HLA to constructive simulations such as war games in domestics and overseas. However, any case of real-time distributed simulations has not been reported. The reason is that a message transmission period via RTI in a network layer varies according to computing power, simulation nodes, transmission types, and packet size; further a message processing time in an application layer depends on its processing methods, thus too difficult to set up real-time constraints for the enhancement of a real-time resolution. Hence, in this paper we have studied the real-time constraints of RTI for the development of the M-SAM simulator. Thus we have developed a HLA based pilot simulator using 6 PC's in LAN and then measured and analysed the performance of the RTI. As the results of our work, we could obtain the quantitative values for message delay, RTI overhead and RTI packet transmission ratio by a real operation scenario and loads, which are not shown in the previous works. We also expect that the results can be used as a guideline to set up the number of targets, transmission frequency and message processing method in the development of the M-SAM simulator and similar applications.
Commander and staffs on the battlefield are aware of the situation and, based on the results, they perform military activities through their military decisions. Recently, with the development of information technology, the demand for artificial intelligence to support military decisions has increased. It is essential to identify, collect, and pre-process the data set for reinforcement learning to utilize artificial intelligence. However, data on enemies lacking in terms of accuracy, timeliness, and abundance is not suitable for use as AI learning data, so a training model is needed to collect AI learning data. In this paper, a methodology for learning artificial intelligence was presented using the constructive wargame model exercise data. First, the role and scope of artificial intelligence to support the commander and staff in the military decision-making process were specified, and to train artificial intelligence according to the role, learning data was identified in the Chang-Jo 21 model exercise data and the learning results were simulated. The simulation data set was created as imaginary sample data, and the doctrine of ROK Army, which is restricted to disclosure, was utilized with US Army's doctrine that can be collected on the Internet.

In Korea, the training is performed through independent environments without interoperability among L-V-C systems. In the L system, training for large units is limited due to civil complaints at the training grounds and road restrictions. The V system is insufficient in training related to tactical training, and the C system lacks practicality due to a lack of combat friction elements. To achieve synchronicity and integration training between upper and lower units, it is necessary to establish a system to ensure integrated training for each unit by interoperating the currently operating L, V, and C systems. The interoperability between the C-C system supports Korea-US Combined Exercise. On the other hand, the actual development of the training system through the interoperability of L, V, and C has not been made. Although efforts are being made to establish the L, V, and C system centering on the Army, the joint composite battlefield and LVC integrated architecture technology are not yet secured. Therefore, this paper proposes a new plan for the future training system by designing and implementing the LVC integrated architecture technology, which is the core technology that can build the L-V-C interoperability training system. In conclusion, a division-level L-V-C interoperability training system can be established in the future by securing the LVC integrated architecture technology.

In this paper, algorithm and testable circuit to find all PSF(Pattern Sensitive Fault ) occured in RAM were proposed. Conventional test circuit and algorithm took much time in testing because consecutive test for RAM cells or f-dimensional memory struciure was not employed. In this paper, methodology for parallel RAM-testing was proposed by compensating additional circuit for test to conventional RAM circuit. Additional circuits are parallel comparator, error detector, group selector circuit and a modified decoder used for parallel testing. And also, the constructive method of Eulerian path to obtain efficient test pattern was performed. Consequently, If algorithm proposed in this paper Is used, the same operations as 32sxwor4 lines will be needed to test b x w=n matrix RAM. Circuit simulation was performerd, and 10 bits x :If words testable RAM was designed.
A jointed rock slope stability evaluation was simulated by a discontinuous deformation analysis numerical method to investigate the process and safety factors for different crack distributions and different overloading situations. An optimized method using Discontinuous Deformation Analysis for Rock Failure (DDARF) is presented to perform numerical investigations on the jointed rock slope stability evaluation of the Dagangshan hydropower station. During the pre-processing of establishing the numerical model, an integrated software system including AutoCAD, Screen Capture, and Excel is adopted to facilitate the implementation of the numerical model with random joint network. These optimizations during the pre-processing stage of DDARF can remarkably improve the simulation efficiency, making it possible for complex model calculation. In the numerical investigations on the jointed rock slope stability evaluations using the optimized DDARF, three calculation schemes have been taken into account in the numerical model: (I) no joint; (II) two sets of regular parallel joints; and (III) multiple sets of random joints. This model is capable of replicating the entire processes including crack initiation, propagation, formation of shear zones, and local failures, and thus is able to provide constructive suggestions to supporting schemes for the slope. Meanwhile, the overloading numerical simulations under the same three schemes have also been performed. Overloading safety factors of the three schemes are 5.68, 2.42 and 1.39, respectively, which are obtained by analyzing the displacement evolutions of key monitoring points during overloading.

Recently, various researches have been studied to support service-oriented IoT networking. This is because the IoT environment coexists with various service devices for providing the service in a certain unified area. Thus, in this network environment, an effective data delivery service is not provided in a network configuration. Also, in order to provide efficient IoT services in this network environment, new scheme is necessary to recognize services by themselves and to construct network structures for each service. In this paper, we propose a service oriented self-constructive network (SO-SCN) scheme that can construct a service-oriented network in IoT environments composed of various service devices. The proposed scheme is a method that can minimize the network overhead required for service provisioning and extend the network lifetime. Through simulation, we show that the proposed service oriented self-construction network scheme improves the performance, in terms of the number of packets generated for end-to end data transmission and the end-to-end delay.
As global competition for green car, that is environmentally friendly car, is getting tougher, the governments and the related industries are putting their core efforts in its diffusion. However, the green car sales are disappointing so far. To overcome the gridlock, it is necessary to develop concrete analytical framework to understand the diffusion process. Based on causal loop analysis from the previous work, we have identified main variables and relationships of them in the diffusion process and developed a stock-flow diagram and mathematical formula for the main components. The model would be applied for further quantitative simulation on the diffusion process of green car and other innovative goods as well. Also, we have suggested constructive insights for the policy makers and for the related industries. First, it is important to increase consumers' willingness to consider through marketing and word of mouth to accelerate the diffusion process. Second, in the perspective of the industry, the market share of green car should be increased at the earliest possible stage and this could be done by enhancing each components of green car attractiveness(e.g. price, driving range, social infra). Third, companies should develop a balanced investment between consumer and technology sector through a flexible financial policy. Fourth, the government continuously has the role of investing in the related R&D and social infra building. We expect the green car diffusion model and related formula from the research can provide meaningful tools to analyze the diffusion process of other new and innovative goods based on its deep researched literature review.

Based on two dimensional model partition method proposed in Part 1, Part 2 provides detailed model specification and implementation. To mathematically delineate a model's behaviors and interactions among them, we extend the DEVS (Discrete Event Systems Specification) formalism and newly propose CE-DEVS (Combat Entity-DEVS) for an upper abstraction sub-model of a combat entity model. The proposed CE-DEVS additionally define two sets and one function to reflect essential semantics for the model's behaviors explicitly. These definitions enable us to understand and represent the model's behaviors easily since they eliminate differences of meaning between real-world expressions and model specifications. For model implementation, upper abstraction sub-models are implemented with DEVSim++, while the lower sub-models are realized using the C++ language. With the use of overall modeling techniques proposed in Part 1 and 2, we can conduct constructive simulation and assess factors about combat logics as well as battle field functions of the next-generation combat entity, minimizing additional modeling efforts. From the anti-torpedo warfare experiment, we can gain interesting experimental results regarding engagement situations employing developing weapons and their tactics. Finally, we expect that this work will serve an immediate application for various engagement warfare.
