린 건설 원리에 기초한 건설 생산 공정 분석 모델에 관한 연구 (Development of CPAM(Construction Process Analysis Model) based on Lean Construction Principles)

  • 본 연구에서는 작업 신뢰도 향상의 한 방안으로 기존 공정 관리 기법 상의 한계점을 분석하여 이를 보완하고자 하였다. 그 결과로써 린 생산 원리를 적용한 건설 생산 공정 개선 모델인 CPAM(Construction Process Analysis Model)을 제시하였다. CPAM의 변이 관리 기법을 통해 작업 변이를 최소화시켜 공정계획의 신뢰도 향상 및 생산 효율을 증대시킬 수 있도록 하였고 CPAM에서 제시된 세부작업 일정 계획과 주간작업계획을 통해 건설 현장의 작업 흐름에서 나타날 수 있는 자재, 장비, 인력등의 재고(Inventory or Work In Process, WIP)를 감소시킬 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 본 연구는 건설 생산을 작업 흐름의 관점으로 분석함으로써 기존의 분석에서 놓치기 쉬운 작업 흐름상에서의 불확실성을 최소화시키고 작업 처리량을 최대화시킬 수 있는 대안을 제시하는 데 그 의의가 있다.

  • In this construction case study, Crushed stone under 100mm diameter was carried out a test compacted construction for subgrade in the 3rd. runway of the 2th Incheon International Airport Construction area. Conforming to specification needs a minimum rolling compacted number 10 for upper subgrade 100% compaction degree indicated in Federal Aviation Administration and $K_{30}{\geq}20kgf/cm^3$ in plate bearing test. $K_{30}$ to be acquired 100% compaction degree of upper subgrade is confirmed to about $31kgf/cm^3$ from correlation $K_{30}$ vs relative compaction degree.

  • This paper presents a study conducted with the aim of developing a model of tendering based on a technique of artificial intelligence by managing and controlling the factors of success or failure of construction projects through the evaluation of the process of invitation to tender. Aiming to solve this problem, analysis of the current environment based on SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) is first carried out. Analysis was evaluated through a case study of the construction projects in Algeria, to bring about the internal and external factors which affect the process of invitation to tender related to the construction projects. This paper aims to develop a mean to identify threats-opportunities and strength-weaknesses related to the environment of various national construction projects, leading to the decision on whether to continue the project or not. Following a SWOT analysis, novel artificial intelligence models in forecasting the project status are proposed. The basic principal consists in interconnecting the different factors to model this phenomenon. An artificial neural network model is first proposed, followed by a model based on fuzzy logic. A third model resulting from the combination of the two previous ones is developed as a hybrid model. A simulation study is carried out to assess performance of the three models showing that the hybrid model is better suited in forecasting the construction project status than RNN (recurrent neural network) and FL (fuzzy logic) models.

낙동강교 ILM 가설에 따른 시공 중 계측 (Measurement during Construction of Nakdong Bridge by Incremental Launching Method)

  • As the volume of traffic in southern part of the republic of Korea grew, expansion of transportation was required. In that purpose, the railway between Samnangjin and Gwangyang is being extended to a double-track line. This construction includes Nakdong bridge located across Nakdong river. This truss bridge is constructed in incremental launching method (ILM) and composed of two sections, straight line and curved one. Bridge construction in the method goes with the shift of roller supports which results in the change of structural system. To accomplish safe construction, the measurement during the whole launching stages. The locations of member in severe condition and the corresponding response values were estimated through the preliminary construction stage analysis. Based on the analysis, the measurement during construction was planned. Several sensors and measurement devices were installed at appropriate locations. During the whole launching stages, the measurement was performed and the corresponding data were monitored and stored in real time. The comparison of the responses from the analysis and the measurement showed no indication of yielding of the structural members. Consequently, the construction of Nakdong bridge was concluded to be relevant.

  • Performance measurement and management in the construction industry has traditionally been regarded as the major factor for successful business execution. In addition, there is emphasis on the function of performance measurement and management that can early warn potential risks and poor performance in project execution environment changes. Previous studies have made various attempts to measure the quantitative performance of construction projects, and the research to derive the link between the results and the issue that can meet the future needs is expected to provide valuable information. The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trends based on the keywords presented in previous studies on the performance measurement and management of construction projects. Considering that the results presented in the existing literature can be an indicator of the evolution of the sector before it is applied to industry, the result of this study is expected to be used as a basic data to support the establishment of research direction in the future.

Frequency variation in construction stages and model validation for steel buildings

  • This study aims to monitor the variation of modal frequencies of steel buildings during their construction sequence. In this respect, construction of a steel building is followed by vibration based measurements. The monitored building is a three-story educational building within a building group whose structural system consists of steel moment resisting steel frames and eccentric braces. Five different acceleration measurements in two perpendicular directions are taken on five different construction stages, starting from the erection of the columns and beams ending with the completion of the construction. The recorded measurements are transferred into frequency domain and the dominant frequencies for each case have been determined. The change in the dominant frequencies is evaluated with the existing construction stages and performed constructional works between the stages. The last measurement, performed on the building in service, revealed the first two dominant frequencies as mutual in X and Y direction, showing that these dynamic modes are torsional modes. This result is investigated by numerical analysis performed with finite element model of the building constructed for design purpose. Lower frequencies and different mode shapes are determined from numerical analysis. The reason of lower frequencies is discussed and the vibration survey is extended to determine the effects of an adjacent building. The results showed that the building is in strong relation with an adjoining building in spite of a designed construction joint.

Numerical study of stress states near construction joint in two-plate-girder bridge with cast-in-place PC slab

  • For reducing construction cost, two-plate-girder bridges are getting popular in Japan. This type of bridge employs a PC slab, which is often cast-in-place. In such a case, concrete is not usually cast over the whole slab at one time: some portions are constructed earlier than the rest. Therefore, a construction joint is inevitably created. Due to the drying shrinkage of concrete, tension stress may occur in concrete slab. High tensile stress can be expected near the construction joint where concretes with different ages meet. Moreover, prestressing is not applied over the whole length of slab at one time. This may also serve as a source of tensile stress in the slab. Thus there is a chance that cast-in-place PC slab, especially near the construction joint, may be subjected to tensile cracking. In the present study, stress states near the construction joint in the cast-in-place PC slab of a two-plate-girder bridge are investigated numerically. The finite element method is employed and the three-dimensional analysis is conducted to see the influence of dry shrinkage and prestressing. The stress states in the PC slab thus obtained are discussed. The simplified model of a plate girder for this class of analysis is also proposed.

건설사고 예방을 위한 근로자의 불안전한 행동과 휴먼에러와의 관계 분석 (An Analysis of Relationship between Unsafe Acts and Human Errors of Workers for Construction Accident Prevention)

  • Construction industry is becoming more advanced, but safety accidents are not decreasing and unsafe act (UA) and human errors (HE) are the main causes of safety accidents. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the relationships between unsafe acts and human errors for construction accident prevents. Specifically, the Correlation Analysis is used to quantify 24 combinations of the relationship between the UA and HE. Then, the Kano Model, and Timko Satisfied Coefficient was utilized to find 6 combinations for construction accident prevention plans. As the result of Timko Satisfied Coefficient, an interview was conducted with three safety managers and 6 safety prevention plan is proposed. Through these results, it is expected that the combination of 24 accidents will be basic data of safety management. Especially, the proposed safety prevention plans considering the characteristics of 6 combinations with high correlation can contribute to prevention of safety accidents at the construction site.

EXPLORING THE KEY FACTORS FOR BIM ACCEPTANCE IN CONSTRUCTION ORGANIZATIONS

  • Substantial research has been performed on the data standards and exchanges in the AEC/FM industry over the past several years. The growing popularity of BIM technology is based heavily upon a perception that the technology can facilitate the sharing and reuse of information during a project life-cycle. Although many researchers and practitioners are in agreement about the potential applicability and benefit of BIM in construction, it is still unclear why BIM is adopted, and what factors enhance implementation of BIM. Thus, BIM acceptance and use remains a central concern of BIM research and practice. Therefore, we propose the key factors affecting the acceptance of BIM in construction organizations using factor analysis. The key factors for BIM acceptance are identified through a literature review in TAM (Davis 1989) and related theories, and consolidated by interviews and pilot studies with professionals in construction industry. Based on the factors, a questionnaire was designed and sent out to construction organizations such as contractors, architects, and engineers in Korea. Total 148 completed questionnaires were retrieved. Using factor analysis, key factors were grouped into six dimensions. These findings will clarify what the highly prioritized factors are, and can also be used in an assessment tool for the performance of BIM utilization.

  • 모듈러 공법에 대한 정책적 지원과 시장 확대의 방안이 마련되고 있는 실정으로 활성화를 위한 명확한 과제 제시와 분석이 필요한 시점이다. 이에 본 연구는 모듈러 공법의 활성화를 위한 핵심과제의 제시를 목적으로 하였다. 기존 연구 분석을 통해 개선과제를 고찰하고 전문가 자문을 통해 보완하여 30개의 핵심과제를 도출하였다. 이후 설문조사를 실시하여 핵심과제에 대한 중요도-시급성 분석을 수행하고 우선순위를 도출하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 모듈러 건축의 활성화에 필요한 핵심과제의 해결을 위한 전략적인 접근에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.
