  • The effects of deposition variables on SnO2 CVD were investigated for SnCl4+O2 reaction at 300∼700$^{\circ}C$, Psncl4=1${\times}$10-5∼1${\times}$10-3 atm, and Po2=5${\times}$10-4∼1 atm. A thermodynamic equilibrium study on Sn-Cl-O system has been performed with the computer calculation. The calculation indicates that major species participating the reaction in SnCl4 and not intermediate species, SnCl2. Good uniformity of the film thickness was obtained at the flow rate of 11cm/sec, which resulted from the stable gas flow in our cold wall reactor. The experimental results showed that apparent activation energy of the deposition was about 13.5Kcal/mole below the temperature of 500$^{\circ}C$ and the deposition mechanism was controlled by surface reation. The behavior of deposition rate on the reactant partial pressures could be explained with the Langmuri-Hinshelwood mechanism. X-ray study demonstrated that SnO2 film deposited at temperatures above 400$^{\circ}C$ were polycrystalline with tetragonal rutile structure and grew with (211) and (301) preferred orientations.

  • Umbilical cord blood has been recently considered an attractive potential alternative as a source of stem cell transplantation to curing diseases such as leukemia, cancers, immune disorders. Normally the stored system of the umbilical cord blood specimen is equipped with a computer-controlled robotic arm that enables the samples to locate the identification places in liquid nitrogen tank at regulated temperature as about $-196^{\circ}C$. As the half of robotic arm is in the air and the rest part is submerged in liquid nitrogen, the temperature of robotic arm varies from ambient to liquid nitrogen temperature. In this study the temperature variation of upper part of arm above tank lid was thermally analysed by using the commercial code of Ansys. The result of analysis was that the upper part of robotic arm was seriously frozen due to heat transfer from liquid nitrogen as low as -$120^{\circ}C$. In order to solve the frost problem of robotic arm, small PTFE tube block as resistance material was introduced into the lower part of tank lid instead of the whole stainless steel(SUS) robotic arm. The results showed that the temperature of robotic arm above the lid was higher enough, and this method would be one of the very effective measure to solve the problem.

  • Amphibious possible, and good fuel economy, so as leisure and transport has increased the use of hovercraft. Fire started in Korea, the prevalence is increasing in demand as the trend has been increasing steadily. In this paper, the hovercraft's forward and backward direction can be controlled in order to free the reverse bucket control system was developed. Control due to development by promoting the flow of air and turn right, turn left and easy to reverse the life-saving and stable at high speed, etc. has made possible the operation of hovercraft. The controller for the stability and fast response Fuzzy-PID method was used. To prove the validity of the proposed controller in Matlab simulation and the actual delivery at the firehouse, built into a model for the demonstration test was performed.

  • This study describes a pressure tracking control of hydroforming process which is used for precision forming of sheet metals. The hydroforming operation is performed in the high-pressure chamber strictly controlled by pressure control valve and by the upward motion of a punch moving at a constant speed, The pressure tracking control is very difficult to design and often does not guarantee satisfactory performances be-cause of the punch motion and the nonlinearities and uncertainties of the hydraulic components. To account for these nonlinearities and uncertainties of the process and iterative learning controller is proposed using Cerebellar Model Arithmetic Computer (CMAC). The experimental results show that the proposed learning control is superior to any fixed gain controller in the sense that it enables the system to do the same work more effectively as the number of operation increases. In addition reardless of the uncertainties and nonlinearities of the form-ing process dynamics it can be effectively applied with little a priori knowledge abuot the process.

  • While single-user spatial multiplexing multiple-input multiple-output (SU-MIMO) allows spatially multiplexed data streams to be transmitted to one node at a time, multi-user spatial multiplexing MIMO (MU-MIMO) enables the simultaneous transmission to multiple nodes. However, if the transmission time required to send packets to each node varies considerably, MU-MIMO may fail to utilize the available MIMO capacity to its full potential. The transmission time typically depends upon two factors: the link quality of the selected channel and the data length (packet size). To utilize the cumulative capacity of multiple channels in MIMO applications, the assignment of channels to each node should be controlled according to the measured channel quality or the transmission queue status of the node.A MAC protocol design that can switch between MU-MIMO and multiple SU-MIMO transmissions by considering the channel quality and queue status information prior to the actual data transmission (i.e., by exchanging control packets between transmitter and receiver pairs) could address such issues in a simple but in attractive way. In this study, we propose a new MAC protocol that is capable of performing such switching and thereby improve the system performance of very high throughput WLANs. The detailed performance analysis demonstrates that greater benefits can be obtained using the proposed scheme, as compared to conventional MU-MIMO transmission schemes.

  • The density of Memory has been increased by great challenge for memory technology; therefore, elements of memory become more smaller than before and the sensitivity to faults increases. As a result of these changes, memory testing becomes more complex. In addition, as the number of storage elements per chip increases, the test cost becomes more remarkable as the cost per transistor drops. Recent development in system-on-chip(SoC) technology makes it possible to incorporate large embedded memories into a chip. However, it also complicates the test process, since usually the embedded memories cannot be controlled from the external environment. We present a ARM processor-programmable built-in self-test(BIST) scheme suitable for embedded memory testing in the SoC environment. The proposed BIST circuit can be programmed vis an on-chip microprocessor.

  • To quantitatively estimate the effect of yellow sand(loess) fromt he Northern China, various soil sources having similar chemical compositions to yellow sands should be separated and identified. After that, mass contribution for yellow sand can be calculated. The study showed that it was impossible to solve this problem by the traditional bulk analyses. However, particle-by-particle analysis by a CCSEM (computer controlled scanning electron microscope) gave enormous potentials to solve it. To perform this study, seven soil source data analyzed by CCSEM were obtained from Texas, U.S.A. Initially, each soil date was classified into two groups, coarse and fine particle groups since the particle number distribution showed a minimum occurring at 5.2$\mu$m of aerodynamic diameter. Particles in each group were then classified into one of the 283 homogeneous particle classes by the universal classification rule which had been built by an expert system in the early study. Further, mass fractions and their uncertainties for each class in each source were calculated by the Jackknife method, and then source profile matrix for the 7 soil sources was created. To use the profile matrix in the study of source contribution, it is necessary to test the degree of collinearity among sources. The profiles were tested by the singular value decomposition method. As a result, each soil source characterized by artificially created variables was totally independent each other and is ready to use in source contribution studies as a receptor model.

  • In the building process of FPSOs(floating production, storage and offloading units) is the increasing demand of high performance piping joints that can be installed on its turret system and maintain smooth and long-term flow of ultra-high pressure crude oil, being subjected to external excitations such as wind and wave on the sea. Following such a trend, in this paper, a new-type piping joint of four effective degrees of freedom has been designed, and its dynamic characteristics predicted through mathematical modeling and computer simulations. Moreover, via an example it was shown how the yaw motion in particular can be independently controlled for future durability test despite strong kinetic couplings.
