Research on the Interactive Experience Design of Museum Cultural Product Customization Platform -Focusing on Shenyang Palace Museum (박물관 문화상품을 위한 플랫폼의 상호경험디자인에 대한연구 -선양고궁박물관을 중심으로)

  • The innovative development of museum cultural products is an important way for museums to play the function of cultural communication with their collections. In the context of consumer upgrading, traditional cultural product design and sales methods gradually fail to meet the diverse needs of consumers. This study aims to propose the construction of a customized interactive experience platform for museum cultural products, promote the development of museum cultural products, and facilitate the inheritance and preservation of museum culture. The research methodology analyzes the model and characteristics of existing cultural product customization platforms by collating existing literature studies, and distributes 159 questionnaires to investigate the needs of cultural product consumers, and finally combines the customization experience with existing e-tailing platform systems according to user needs, proposes a theoretical framework and conducts design practice and usability testing using the Shenyang Palace Museum as an example. The findings show that users have a high acceptance of the customized platform for cultural products and that the design of the customized platform can be used to promote the dissemination of the cultural connotations of museums, optimize the personalized user experience of cultural products, and provide new ideas for the development, design, and retailing of museum cultural products. Based on the above findings, this paper suggests that museums' cultural product development can utilize the design model of customized platforms to further enhance consumers' personalized service experience.

  • Due to the popularity of smart phones based on personal propensities and individual lifestyle changes customerized services is increasing interest in the individual. The system for personalized services make a difference in the public institutions, museum of science and history. In particular, museums and art galleries have a common motivation which is sightseeing. Museum for the history and science education a national purpose that is put, unlikely art gallery. Museum of science and History, unlike the theme parks have a combination of entertainment and education as a public institution is a large consensus. In order to achieve this objective, exhibits raise a sufficient commitment to and the exhibits should be described by age. Using augmented reality combined with effective entertainment and education measures, we propose the effective smart guide service strategies for museum.

  • Architecture is widely regarded as one of important fields representing their own culture. In most cities of our nation, there has been the tendencies of negligence in keeping its record properly to be used. So, the purpose of this study is to collect the basic informations and analyse them to develop the appropriate programs for us. This study aims to offer fundamental characteristics of functional configurations in architectural museums through comparative analysis between korean and foreign museums. In so doing, it deals with the relationship between identity of museum policy and its spatial program such as archiving center, exhibition center and communication-research center. For the prove of such relationship this study attempt to compare multiple cases such as MAXXI, Nai etc. Finally this study propose that, in considering the establishment of a new architectural museum, the space program should be considered as a continuous changing process in order to make the museum as a cultural multi-complex.

  • The number of galleries across the country is increasing as interest in cultural life increases due to the increase in national income. However, museum satisfaction is relatively low compared to other services. In this paper, we propose a service that provides preference information based on machine learning in embedded system environment in order to increase museum satisfaction. The proposed algorithm implements an embedded system using Raspberry Pi. Machine learning was used to find works similar to the viewer's favorite works, and several models were compared to select models applicable to embedded systems. By using the preference information, it is possible to effectively organize the gallery exhibition contents to increase the exhibition satisfaction and the re-visit rate of the museum.

  • With the real museum changing from a center of viewing to a center of experience and communication, virtual museums have become independent as well as auxiliary and alternative roles for real museums. Therefore, it is necessary to review the concept and meaning of virtual museums and analyze the attributes of each exhibition type. This paper categorizes the exhibition types of virtual museums into four categories and analyzes the interaction methods of each exhibition type. The essential characteristics of interaction subjects affect all four types, but the method of virtual expression is distinguished, and the exhibition type that actively utilizes the virtuality of exhibition space and work expands the user's experience and communication. In this study, various forms and methods of construction of virtual museums can be explored by providing characteristics and considerations for each type of exhibition during the planning and construction of virtual museums.

  • The core of character and concept in an exhibition space of contemporary museum is that the place for relics and materials changes into the place for spectators, the static exhibition place changes into the dynamic exhibition place, and the place for learning naturally during amusement. In other words, it could convey the conceptual exhibition object which is not the material object called a relic, it could be a place where is to investigate, participate, experience and enjoy with easily method to general public, and ordinary people are supposed to experience with integrative the world of intellectual, cultural and artistic which is inconcionsly rising a dimensiov. In order to response positively the change of these exhibition concept itself, exhibition system will be established through the analysis of realistic exhibition objects with the visulatization of theme or thought of an exhibitiov. In process of conveying image, the effective and concrete exhibition method and technique should be measured in order to realize the communication between spectators and exhibition objects. The purpose of this study is to find the methodology which is enable to establish the exhibition theme and presentation system through the selection and analysis of exhibition objects in major cases of a musem of ecience and engneering, to find the process model till the methodology applies to the space scheme, and to find finally the designed indicators which is applicable to the progress of exhibition desigv.

  • Opened on November 2008, as the public exhibition center of a telecommunication company, T.um is dedicated for delivering the future ubiquitous technologies and business vision of the company leading domestic mobile communication business to the global expected clients and business partners. Since the public opening, not only over 18,000 audiences in 112 nations have been visiting T.um, but also the public media have been releasing news regarding the ubiquitous museum constantly. By the reasons, T.um is regarded as a successful case for public exhibition centers. The most distinguished quality of the museum is established by the Location Based Service technology in the initial construction stage. A visitor in anyplace of T.um can be detected by digital devices equipped GPS systems. The LBS system in T.um allows visitors to get the information of relevant technologies as well as the process of how to operating each content at his own spots by smart phone of which wireless network systems make it possible. This study is focusing on analyzing and defining the T.um special qualities in terms of technologies to provide the basic data for following exhibition space projects based on LBS. The special method of experiencing contents can be designed by utilizing the network system applied to T.um in the planning stage.

  • When people visit other countries, the first place to go would be either a museum or an art gallery because it might be the most effective way that people could understand culture and history of the place in a short time. It can be alleged that a museum must be an important cultural space because people can experience their life, history and art there. According to these cultural importance, the purpose of this study is to suggest the environmental design of $\boxDr$Design Museum$\boxUl$ through the Transparency of the Cubism. The Transparency means a capability of transmitting light so that objects on the other side can be seen clearly. The Concept of the Transparency could be taken effects in architecture by overlapping facets or space. By understanding formative properties of the Cubism, which especially focused on Transparency, 1 would like to propose the environment as an art and the exhibition-environment as a way of communication. As it were, the study can be valued as a new approach on condition that formative feature is interpreted with modern terms and the ‘Digital technology’ is not used a tool of representation but a tool of thought in terms of design. Moreover, it has a great significance that formative language of the Cubism will be able to be applied to the environmental design through the experimental and creative design process.

  • Computers and communication technologies have been brought tremendous change to various aspects of an ever-fast changing world at present. Particularly, the use of internet and cyberspace is widespread in every comer of our life. We developed a cyber shell museum using an animation technology. It was developed for educational purposes, and accessible through the world wide web of internet. Cyber shell museum is consisted of five compartment including rare shells, marvelous shells, shell of the world, the shell of Korea and its story of shells. The database contains the pictures and related information of the shell and it implies not only animation display but also text information. The files of database were classified depending on the species, genus, family, order, and class and division of the shell. Picture of shells is displayed and user may reach the image and virtual view information by clicking through the object displayed. This provides multiple techniques to user may manipulate, visualize and interact with image on the web. And every such transformation as translation, rotation, and scaling can be applied in the picture interactively for the convenient and effective viewing.

Design and Development of U-Museum System by utilizing RFID (RFID를 이용한 U-Museum 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • Despite continuous changes these days, exhibit management methods have not changed that much. To solve th problem, some systems like bar code, color code, IrDA, etc. are being used, but still many problems remain. For the problem-solving, "Exhibt Management System with RFID" is designed and its prototype is developed, which can reduce resources and efforts to manage exhibits through that an operator confirms exhibit information and inputs any damage on the exhibit on the site by using RFID system. The system purposes to improve efficiency of exhibit management by allowing an operator to check all information of exhibitions in real time using a portable reader that recognizes tags of 900MHz band manually attached to each exhibit.
