Purpose: This study was conducted to identify ethical climate factors in hospitals and analyze their influence on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Methods: A convenience sample of 196 nurses from one national university hospital in J city participated in this descriptive study survey. Instruments included the Ethical Climate Questionnaire, Job Satisfaction Scale, and Organizational Commitment Scale. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ and factor analysis were done to test reliability and construct validity of the scales. Data were collected from March 15 to March 25, 2013 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, t-test, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Seven ethical climate factors were identified; laws and professional codes, social responsibility, company rules and procedures, self-interest, personal morality, efficiency, and friendship. Factors influencing job satisfaction were friendship (${\beta}$=.25), social responsibility (${\beta}$=.20), laws and professional codes (${\beta}$=.20), and educational level (${\beta}$=.27), explaining 37.6% of variance in job satisfaction. Factors influencing organizational commitment included social responsibility (${\beta}$=.29), friendship (${\beta}$=.27), laws and professional codes (${\beta}$=.23), and age (${\beta}$=.19), with explanatory power of 44.6%. Conclusion: Results can be used as preliminary data for developing new strategies to establish positive ethical climates in hospital environments and thus enhance nurses' job satisfaction and organizational commitment.
This study attempts to investigated the impact of mentoring function and job satisfaction and organizational commitment in the hotel kitchen employees. It is hypothesized that the function of mentoring will influence on the job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Data was collected from 362 in the Seoul, Jejn, Busan and Kyungju hotels. The result showed that all of those 3 sub causes of the mentoring functions was positively relation with job satisfaction; but the organizational commitment, only the role model function had a positive relation. This is the mentoring function, which the role to accomplish the role model function is most important to hotel kitchen employees. Furthermore, the hypothesis for the relation of job satisfaction and organizational commitment was turned down. The result of this study will be hopeful for the hotel industries which gave needs to establish to human resources management.
The purposes of this paper examines the extant to which congruence in leader and follower rating of LMX quality is related to organizational commitment, and perceptions of organizational politics(POPs). A conceptual model is introduced that identifies four combinations of leader and follower LMX ratings of Cogliser et al.(2009): balanced/low LMX(low leader and follower LMX), balanced/high LMX(high leader and follower LMX), follower overestimation(low leader LMX/high follower LMX), follower underestimation(high leader LMX/low follower LMX). The summary of results based on a sample of 236 matched pairs of leaders and followers in KOREA is as follows: First, balanced/high LMX and follower overestimation were associated with relatively high levels of affective organizational commitment, and perceptions of organizational politics. However, follower underestimation and balanced/low LMX was related to low levels of follower outcomes. In particular, follower underestimation and balanced/low LMX were significantly different from balanced/high LMX and follower overestimation. Second, perceptions of organizational politics was negatively related to affective organizational commitment in the four LMX relationship types. Especially, the negative relationship between POPs and organizational commitment was stronger for people who are low as compared with high in LMX quality. Theoretical and practical implications of our findings as well as directions for future research are provided.
The purposes of this study were to understand the organizational culture and to explore factors related to organizational commitment. The nationwide mailing survey was conducted using structured questionnaires from February 7th, 2013 to February 18th, 2013. With regard to the organizational culture, a relationship-oriented culture was predominant. The relationship-oriented culture(${\beta}=0.45,p<0.001$) and innovation-oriented culture(${\beta}=0.34,p<0.001$) had a positive influence on organizational commitment. This study has 56% of the explanatory power(F=14.83,p<0.001). The long-term care facilities with higher evaluation grades showed higher organizational commitment(F=7.18,p<0.001), which affected positively the evaluation of long-term care facilities (${\beta}=0.53,p<0.001$). On the basis of the above results, the conclusions were as follows: First, managers in the long-term care facilities should strive to build good relationships with staffs as to achieve greater organizational commitment and higher evaluation scores. Second, more researches are needed to find out how to improve the relationships among staffs.
The purpose of this study is to analyze that employee's job satisfaction and organizational commitment affect turnover intention according to freight forwarders's characteristics and personal characteristics. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, literature survey related to personal characteristics, job characteristics, organizational characteristics, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, turnover intention on studying employee was carried out and took an empirical analysis by the use of questionnaire method for employees in freight forwarders. According to the final result and conclusions are as follows; First, job characteristics was positively related to job satisfaction but were negatively related to organizational commitment. Organizational characteristics was positively related to job characteristics and organizational characteristics. Second, personal characteristics was negatively related to job characteristics and organizational characteristics. Finally, job satisfaction, organizational commitment were negatively related to turnover intention.

In this paper, we propose the role of job crafting in the relationship between leadership and organizational effectiveness in voluntarily carrying out each member's assigned tasks. This study surveyed the manufacturing, construction, service industries in Seoul and Gyeonggi province, identified the type of leadership they recognized, and empirically analyzed the organizational effectiveness of leadership. The purpose of this paper is to grasp the types of leadership acknowledged by the industry of manufacturing, construction, and service, and also to empirically analyze the organizational effectiveness of the leadership. The study measures the organizational effectiveness in terms of the job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and organizational citizenship behavior while classifying the leadership into coaching leadership, transformational leadership, and sensible leadership. In addition, the strictness of the analysis is imposed by estimating the simple least square model and ranking probit model. The results of the least square model is summarized as the following. Regardless of the different defining terms of organizational effectiveness, transformational leadership was shown to have the greatest organizational effectiveness. Sensible leadership positively effected job satisfaction whereas coaching leadership positively effected job satisfaction and organizational effectiveness. Compared to transformational leadership and coaching leadership, the impact of the sensible leadership was very much limited. The result of the ranking probit model is summarized as the following. First, sensible leadership had a positive impact on the member's job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Second, regarding the organizational citizenship behavior, coaching leadership showed greater impact than transformational leadership. This results contradicts the results from the simple least square model. If similar studies were to be conducted in the future, two models and the results must be compared. Third, as the leadership score increases by 1 point, there is greater possibility of having more than 4 points for all job satisfaction, organizational commitment, organizational citizenship behavior. Lastly, the analysis proves that job crafting has the mediation effect between the leadership and organizational effectiveness.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of multicultural competence on the organizational effectiveness of daycare teachers and to provide basic data to improve organizational effectiveness of daycare facilities. To achieve this goal, 258 childcare teachers attending C university were sampled for convenience and statistical processing was performed using PASW. First, there was a positive correlation between organizational productivity, organizational adaptability, and job satisfaction in the relationship between multicultural knowledge and organizational productivity, organizational adaptability, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction. second. The relationship between multicultural awareness and organizational productivity, organizational adaptability, and organizational commitment were all statistically correlated. Third, multicultural knowledge and multicultural awareness have positive effects on organizational commitment, organizational adaptability, and organizational productivity. Fourth, multicultural knowledge has a positive effect on job satisfaction. Therefore, in order to improve organizational effectiveness of day care facilities in the era of convergence, education programs related to multicultural knowledge and multicultural awareness are needed for daycare teachers.
The purpose of this study was to identify organizational effectiveness and organizational commitment according to participation satisfaction in leisure sports activities of police organization. To do this, the researcher selected five police stations using convenience sampling method targeting the police officers who participated in leisure sports activities among those police officers who were working in Gwangju Metropolitan City as of 2009. And as for the subjects of this study, total 200 police officers were sampled. Excluding 27 responses which were insincerely answered or not returned, 173 questionnaires were used for final analysis. The results were made as follows. First, the results from analysis revealed that contribution to public goods, social recognition, and individual accomplishment, which are sub variables of participation satisfaction, had influences on both job satisfaction and organization immersion which are sub variables of organization effectiveness. Second, results from analysis showed that value commitment and continuance commitment which are sub variables of organizational commitment were affected by contribution to public goods social recognition and public goods individual accomplishment, respectively. Third, the results from analysis revealed that both job satisfaction and organization immersion which are sub variables of organizational effectiveness affected value contribution, and that, only organization immersion had an influence on the continuance commitment.
More than 2 million foreigners were staying in Korea. In this study, the effect of individual and environmental characteristics of foreign workers on organizational commitment was empirically analyzed. A research model for empirical analysis was established. A research model was established independent variables by dividing them into four parts: personal desire, adaptability, organizational life, and social support and setting organizational commitment as dependent variables. Based on this research model, data collection for analysis was conducted in a survey method for foreign workers in Korea. An empirical analysis was conducted using SPSS 24 based on 200 valid sample of the respondents. The results of the empirical analysis were as follows. First, it was found that foreign workers' desire for achievement, language adaptability, relationships with supervisors and colleagues, future vision of jobs, and social support had a significant positive (+) effect on organizational commitment. On the other hand, the significant influence relationship of cultural adaptability was not tested. Second, factors that significantly affect organizational commitment was in the order of social support, relationships with supervisors and colleagues, future vision of jobs, language adaptability, and desire for achievement. Based on these research results, academic implications were presented, and practical implications were presented to increase the organizational commitment of foreign workers.
Background: The purpose of this study is to verify the impact of dental hygienists' working environment on organizational commitment and the mediating effect of psychological empowerment in the relationship between working environment and organizational commitment. Methods: A survey was conducted on 264 people working as dental hygienists between August 16 and August 23, 2023. The collected data were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and regression analysis. Results: In the dental hygienist work environment, all three subfactors (safety management system, manager's competency, and support system) had a significant positive(+) correlation between psychological empowerment and organizational commitment. Dental hygienists' work environment was found to have an effect on organizational commitment, and psychological empowerment was found to have a partial mediating effect in the relationship between work environment and organizational commitment. Conclusion: As a way to improve dental hygienists' organizational commitment, it is necessary to develop a strategic human resource management program to create a safe and positive work environment and to form an organizational culture in which managers can recognize the power of members and grant empowerment.
