고온 초전도 자속흐름 트랜지스터에 적용된 전자냉각 특성 시뮬레이션 (Characteristics Simulation of Electronics Cooling for a High-Temperature Superconducting Flux Flow Transistor Circuit)

  • An equivalent circuit for the superconductor flux flow transistor(SFFT) was combined with high temperature cooling device, based on the analogy between thermal and electrical variables using the high-temperature superconductor(HTS), is proposed. The device is composed of parallel weak links with a nearby magnetic control line. A model has been developed that is based on solving the equation of motion of Abrikosov vortices subject to Lorentz viscous and pinning forces as well as magnetic surface barriers. The use of thermal models the global performance of thermal cooling circuit and signal system to be checked by using electrical circuit analysis programs such as SPICE.

Computer modeling of tornado forces on buildings

  • A tornado changes its wind speed and direction rapidly; therefore, it is difficult to study the effects of a tornado on buildings in a wind tunnel. In this work, the status of the tornado-structure interaction is surveyed by numerical simulation. Various models of the tornado wind field found in literature are surveyed. Three-dimensional computer modeling work using the turbulence model based on large eddy simulation is presented. The effect of tornado on a cubic building is considered for this study. The Navier-Stokes (NS) equations are approximated by finite difference method, and solved by a semi-implicit procedure. The force coefficients are plotted in time to study the effect of the Rankine-Combined Vortex Model. Some flow visualizations are also reported to understand the flow behavior around the cube.

  • In this study, various fundamental experiments including durability and time-dependent deformation are performed to compile a database for a utilization of high-strength concrete for PSC bridges. In the mix design, concrete strength at early age when prestressing forces are introduced to the PSC member and slumpflow suitable for pumping of concrete are considered to make a concrete fit for PSC bridges. The main parameters investigated are the kinds and replacement ratios of mineral admixtures and low-heat cement. Experimental tests on durability include penetration of chloride ions, freezing-thawing, combined deterioration, and simple adiabatic temperature rise test. In addition, time-dependent deformation such as creep, drying and autogenous shrinkage, which is particularly important factor in the design and construction of PSC bridges, is tested and analyzed.

  • This paper presents a model for evaluating the contribution by arch action to shear resistance in shear-critical RC beams. Based on the relationship between shear and bending moment in beams subjected to combined shear and bending, The behavior of a beam is explicitly divided into two base components of the flexural action and the tied arch action. The compatibility condition of the shear deformation that deviates from Bernoulli bending plane is formulated utilizing the smeared truss idealization with an inclined compression chord. From this shear compatibility condition in a beam, the shear contribution by the arch action is numerically decoupled.

자동차 조립 작업에서의 직업성 요추부염좌의 위험도에 대한평가 (An Evaluation of Automobile Assembly Jobs for Low Back Injury)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevailing ergonomic conditions regarding low back injury in an assembly factory, In this study, analytic biomechanical model and NIOSH guidelines were applied to evaluate risk levels of low back injury for automobile assembly jobs. Total of 246 workers were analysed. There were 10 jobs with greater back compressive forces than 350kg at L5/S1. Also there were 44 jobs over Action Limit in terms of 1981 NIOSH guidelines. This could in part be explained by the ergonomic conditions of the companys analysed as not hazardous, with a relatively low duration of 'combined' extreme work posture. However, more ergonomic intervention could be done based on those results.

  • The electromagnetic suspension system, which is a kind of magnetic levitation, can be categorized into two groups; separate lift & guidance system and combined lift & guidance system. This paper deals with the latter system, in which lift and guidance forces are generated by a pair of staggered magnets with the inverted U- shaped rail. In this work, a rigid body bogie-truck and a twist response type of bogie-truck, which are constructed by two magnetic wheels consist of two staggered magnet pairs, are modeled, and curvature running characteristics of both types obtained by simulation are presented. Simulation result showed that curvature running characteristics of twist response type of bogie-truck is better than that of rigid body bogie-truck.

  • 콘크리트 격납구조물의 돔과 링빔은 서로 접합된 상태로 단면력 분포에 있어 상호 영향을 미치기 때문에 연계 해석이 필요하다. 이 연구에서는 축대칭 회전쉘의 막이론을 적용하여 본설계시의 유한요소해석에 앞서 돔과 링빔의 초기 형상이나 링빔의 프리스트레스 수준을 효율적으로 결정할 수 있는 기법을 제안하였다.

Energy constraint control in numerical simulation of constrained dynamic system

  • In the analysis of constrained holonomic systems, the Lagange multiplier method yields a system of second-order ordinary differential equations of motion and algebraic constraint equations. Conventional holonomic or nonholonomic constraints are defined as geometric constraints in this paper. Previous works concentrate on the geometric constraints. However, if the total energy of a dynamic system can be computed from the initial energy plus the time integral of the energy input rate due to external or internal forces, then the total energy can be artificially treated as a constraint. The violation of the total energy constraint due to numerical errors can be used as information to control these errors. It is a necessary condition for accurate simulation that both geometric and energy constraints be satisfied. When geometric constraint control is combined with energy constraint control, numerical simulation of a constrained dynamic system becomes more accurate. A new convenient and effective method to implement energy constraint control in numerical simulation is developed based on the geometric interpretation of the relation between constraints in the phase space. Several combinations of energy constraint control with either Baumgarte's Constraint Violation Stabilization Method (CVSM) are also addressed.

四重積分에 의한 船舶推進軸系의 配置에 關한 硏究 (Alignment Calculation of Marine Engine Shafting System by Quadruple Integration Method)

  • Alignment of marine engine shafting generally implies a judicious slope alignment of supporting bearings in order to achieve acceptable values of bearing reactions and shaft stresses for all deformation conditions of hull. Authors developed a computer program, which computes the bearing reaction forces, the bearing reaction influence numbers and etc, using quadruple integration method. And the results of calculation for a 26,000 DWT steam container carrier were in good agreements with those of foreign shipyard. Also they introduced the optimization technique of slope alignment combined technical economic basis, and as a result of comparing characteristics of shafting in case of straight alignment whit those in case of slope alignment, the latter was found to be much better than the former.

현가장치의 성능향상을 위한 지능형 제어로직에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Knowledge Based Control Algorithm for Performance Improvement of the Automotive Suspension System)

  • Automotive suspension system is a mechanism for isolation of the vibration coming from the road inputs. Recently, the electronically controlled suspension systems which may improve ride and handling performance have been developed. Here, the continuously controlled semi-active suspension system is focused. As a mechanism to control damping forces continuously, a solenoid valve is used. The modeling for the solenoid valve is introduced briefly, a vehicle dynamics modeling is constructed, and then combined system model is completed. To design the efficient control algorithm for the semiactive suspension system the knowledge based fuzzy logic is applied and the technique how to apply the sky-hook theory to the fuzzy logic is developed. Finally, to confirm the improvement of performance the computer simulation is carried out.
