대학생의 도서관 이용 만족도가 대학 생활 만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (The Effects of College Students' Library Satisfaction on College Life Satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 대학 도서관 이용 만족도가 대학생의 대학 생활 만족도에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 서울 소재 두 곳의 사립 대학교 대학생들 360명을 대상으로 두 차례의 설문조사를 실시하였다. 일차 조사 결과, 시설 만족도와 교육 서비스 만족도의 영향을 통제한 상황에서, 대학 도서관 이용 만족도가 대학 생활 만족도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이차 조사에서는 도서관 서비스 품질 변수를 세 가지 차원(직원, 자원 및 서비스, 시설 및 환경)으로 추가하였으며, 분석 결과, 도서관 서비스 품질이 도서관 이용 만족도에 유의한 영향을 미치고, 도서관 이용 만족도는 대학 생활 만족도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 재확인되었다. 또한 두 집단 분석 결과, 도서관 이용 수준이 높은 집단에서 낮은 집단보다 도서관 이용 만족도가 대학 생활 만족도에 미치는 영향이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 한 이론적, 실무적 시사점이 논의되었다.

대학도서관의 연구지원서비스에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Research Support Service of College Libraries)

  • 이 연구에서는 대학도서관의 연구지원서비스를 정의하고, 국내외 주요 대학도서관에서 제공하는 연구지원서비스를 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 국내 대학도서관은 일반적으로 온라인상에서 도서관 서비스제공 빈도가 상대적으로 저조하였다. 또한 상대적으로 국외대학도서관에서 제공하는 연구지원 전문서비스보다는 서지교육과 원문제공서비스, 상호대차서비스 등과 같은 일반적인 도서관 서비스만을 제공하였다. 또한 연구윤리 관련 정보서비스가 상대적으로 부족하였다. 그리고 연구단계별 연구지원서비스는 자료수집단계에 집중된 경향이 있으며, 그 외 연구계획단계와 논문작성단계의 서비스는 미흡한 것으로 나타났다. 미국 대학도서관은 대학 소속 연구자와 학자 간의 커뮤니케이션을 위한 공간을 도서관 홈페이지를 통해 제공하고 있었다.

Study on Librarian Service Providers' Awareness and Perceptions of Library Services for the Disabled

  • The purpose of this study is to improve library promotional marketing for the disabled by identifying requirements of public library disability services. This study aimed to investigate librarian service providers' awareness of library programs for the disabled in order to prepare a systematic plan for promoting such library services. Research methods used are a literature analysis and survey. First, the ratio of respondents with experience promoting activities and services for the disabled was less than 50%. Second, regarding methods for promoting library disability services, the respondents used library homepages, press releases, library user guides, library newsletters, and library pamphlets in that order. Third, when asked what kind of PR media the library disability service providers had experience with and how often they use it, library boards and banners were the most common response. Fourth, suggested improvements to the current design and content of PR materials included: clearer word choice (or greater understandability), more detailed descriptions, simpler layouts, and more interesting or eye-catching content in that order. Fifth, the library disability services which are in the most need of public relations were guide information for library disability services, Library and Information Service (DOI services and search services), using alternative materials and the library collection, and aiding the information search. Overall, when evaluating the promotion of disability services in Korea, the library's public relations for disabled services needs to improve because currently neither librarians nor the disabled community they are targeting has frequent or quality experience with it. Thus, the policy department for the library disability services must develop a variety of promotional strategies adjusted for each type of the disability and distribute PR materials to service providers individually, making sure to utilize effective PR methods.

A Study on the User Demand Forecasting and Improvement Plan of Gimpo City Library Service

  • With accommodation of a population of many young people and families due to Hangang River New Town Housing Project and development of railway station spheres, a need is increasing to improve the quality of public libraries service for Gimpo citizens and to establish more libraries. This study thus analyzed the book lending data of Gimpo City libraries, and the city's libraries-related social media big data in an effort to forecast the users, and thus to propose four library service improvement measures. First, in terms of book gathering and book development policy plans, a proposal was made to expand good books for children and youth, and to expand general original-language books related to learning of English, and English books for children. Second, in terms of the establishment of additional libraries or specialization strategy, a proposal was made to establish exclusive children's libraries or English libraries, and to establish library specialization strategy with a focus on children and English themes. Third, in terms of library culture programs, a proposal was made to provide library culture programs in relation to children education and to expand weekend library culture programs. Fourth, in terms of library facilities, considering the convenience of parking facilities, a proposal was made to establish libraries near apartment complexes.

전문대학도서관의 공간구성 특성에 따른 이용만족도 연구 (A study on user Satisfaction of the Junior College Library based on its Characteristics of Space Composition)

  • This study is about user satisfaction of the Junior College Library based on its characteristics of space composition. For this, we studied characteristics of space composition targeting the libraries in colleges in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. First, in case of study of characteristics of space composition for books and library data, student satisfaction for traditional and normal library areas was high. It means that the service based on library areas should start from normal library areas as well as there is a change about space as the type of data in libraries change to electric data and multimedia. Second, If we look at the space for a reader and a user, satisfaction for a normal reading room was high. we can also see that satisfaction for a computer room and a multimedia reading room was not higher but still high. Also, the reason why satisfaction for a multimedia reading room that provides various activities was high was that the complex of a library space is needed to provide users with various activities. Third, in case of space for programme function and meeting, satisfaction for the room of video information and the group study room was high. we can see that user satisfaction for the space got high basically when a user is satisfied with the proper information technology based on interaction Fourth, as a result of variance analysis of 3 spaces of Junior College Library and the services, the size of the space of service does not influence user satisfaction directly. Even the space is small, if it decorates variously like with a lighting for a user, a window seat to meet the nature of users and has specific factors such as space reservation using internet, user satisfaction is high. If we summarise the result of this study, to make user satisfaction for speace in a Junior College Library higher, not just we need to try to make it extend as a educational, a cultural place but we also need to accept the student's requirement that the space also needs to be extend as a complex cultural space.

대학도서관 서비스 품질 평가 기준 개발에 관한 연구 (A Development of Service Quality Evaluation Criteria for Academic Libraries in Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 학술도서관 서비스 품질에 대한 국내 외의 최근 연구 동향을 살펴보고, 지난 2010년과 2011년에 각각 실시된 '대학도서관 시범 평가'와 '전문대학도서관 시범 평가'를 진단하고, 2015년 3월 27일 공포(법률 제13222호)된 "대학도서관진흥법"과 2015년 9월 28일 제정(대통령령 제26547호)된 "대학도서관 진흥법시행령"의 시행에 따른 향후 '대학도서관 평가'에 대해 전망하였다. 그리고 국내 외의 대학도서관 서비스 품질 평가 기준의 사례 분석을 통해 그리고 우리나라의 대학도서관 서비스 품질 평가 기준 개발에 있어서 참고하거나 적용해야 할 주요 시사점을 도출하였다.

장애 대학생의 도서관 서비스 만족도 분석 (Analysis of the Library Service Satisfaction of College Students with Disabilities in Korea)

  • 현재 많은 장애 대학생은 교육적 불평등, 문화적 격리, 정보문맹, 광범위한 캠퍼스 활동에서의 차별에 직면하고 있다. 그러나 장애학생의 최대 장애요소는 학습에 필요한 지식정보에 대한 접근의 부재나 어려움이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 도서관은 장애학생을 차별하지 않아야 하며, 정보자원 및 서비스에 대한 동등한 접근과 이용을 보증해야 한다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 논문은 장애학생을 대상으로 설문 및 면담조사한 결과에 근거하여 대학도서관의 시설과 공간서비스, 직접적 및 간접적 서비스, 총체적 서비스에 대한 만족도와 요망사항을 분석하고 서비스 만족도 제고방안을 제시하였다.

  • As a society rapidly advances in technology and industry, various demands for information arc increasing and becoming more specialized than every before. The college library can no longer restrict its service to the people or, the campus alone. There is no fundamental change in its place on a college campus, but it has an additional role to play: to meet the demands for information from the community outside of the campus. Thyre is no denying that there are public libraries meant to serve the comnlunity and some small spacialized libraries to support certain institutions. But it is also well known that these libraries are inadequate to satisfy the demands for information in a highly diversified and specialized soceity of today largely due to lack of facilities, funds. and personnel. Under these circdmstances, it is almost imperative that the college library open its door to the community. It was attempted in the article to point out the nccds of cooperation between the college library and the community for economic and intellectual advancement on thc campus and in the community. Various ways of making the college library available to the community werc also discussed.

대학도서관 정보사서의 정보서비스 효율성 평가 (An Evaluation for Effectiveness of Information Services by Reference Librarians at College and University Libraries in Korea)

  • The objective of this study is to search for a theoretical and practical solution to the question of what is the most effective and qualitative method of information service for the college and university libraries in Korea. Assuming the maximum service or total service theory in information services, therefore, it appears natural that the subject specialist who is highly knowledgeable in his subject is indispensable in raising the quality of information librarians. The procedure of this research was as follows: There was no college and university library employing any full-time subject spceialist in Korea. This research, however, was proceeded on the assumption that subject specialists are already employed in all of the college and university libraries after the subject specialist system is established. The least qualification of subject specialist is limited, based on the criteria given by the foreign literature, to those who have master's degree in Library Science and bachelor's degree in any other subject area, those who have bacholor's degree in Library Science and master's degree in any other subject area, or those who have both bacholor's and master's degrees in Library Science with minor in any subject field . To prove the research hypothesis that the subject specialist will perform his role more efficiently than the generalist in effectively providing information service based on both accuracy and speed, this research as an obtrusive testing method analyzed the effectiveness by presenting information questions to the generalists and subject specialists who are information librarians in college and university libraries. For this study 20 librarians working at 12 university libraries were tested for performance levels of information services. The result showed $59.75\%$ an absolute performance rate and $75.20\%$ an adjust performance rate. Compared to Thomas Childer's 1970 study in which he used the unobtrusive testing method, these results were $5\%$ higher in the absolute performance rate and $11.36\%$ higher in the adjust performance rate. In comparing the generalist with the subject specialist in efficiency of information service, while the absolute performance rate was $57.08\%$ and the adjust performance rate was $73.08\%$ in the case of the generalist, the absolute rate was $63.75\%$ and the adjust rate was $78.38\%$ in the case of specialist, therefore, the efficiency of the subject specialist was $6.67\%$ higher in the absolute performance rate and $5.30\%$ higher in the adjust performance rate than that of generalist. But the factor of speediness was excluded from the analysis because of the difference between the time the interviewers recorded and the time the interviewee recorded. On the basis of the result of this research, it should be desirable to educate subject specialists and employ them as information librarians and for them to function as efficient subject specialists in order to improve the effectiveness of information services, the nucleus of the raison d'etre of college and university libraries.

국.공립도서관 비교평가연구 -전국 46개 4년제 대학도서관을 중심으로-

  • The purpose of this study is put emphasis on the importance of the library statistics. e. g., more than ten related current library statistics were inaccurated each other, so whole of statistic figures is not to be trusted. This research is make an attempt to more accurate information about library situations. Especially, with special reference to basic library statistics in the [Bulletin of National & College University libraries](Vol. 1-14, 1983-96, published by Council on National College & University Libraries), take the 24 major factors to compare and evaluate with 46 national and public university libraries. Analyzing 24 factors including 5 subjects. These subjects are as follows: 1) Total numbers of staffs with faculty members and students enrollment 2) Whole library collection of monographs and serial and publishcations. 3) Annual university budgets and library material expenditures. 4) Library facilities and building square measure. 5) Library service situation with circulation, inter-library loan/borrow and monograph D/B build up.
