  • In recent highly competitive business environment, collaboration has become one of the important business strategies for companies to survive and/or prosper. There are many different types of collaboration strategies, and it is crucial for companies to select the right ones according to the types of collaboration they require. To select the right type of collaboration options for business, in the past research, there have been two important criteria to classify collaboration types, namely governance (who makes key decisions - one kingpin participant or all players?) and membership (can anyone participate, or just select players?). In this research, we add a new classification criterion, recognition of collaboration purpose, which means whether collaborators know or do not know the purpose of collaboration in advance. Recently, we see many cases in which social media data are used in many unknown purposes a priori. In this research, we add such cases to develop new classification model.

  • This paper explains a performance analysis of an error detection system running on nested session management of cloud computing collaboration environment using rule-based DEVS modeling and simulation techniques. In DEVS, a system has a time base, inputs, states, outputs, and functions. This paper explains the design and implementation of the FDA(Fault Detection Agent). FDA is a system that is suitable for detecting software error for multimedia remote control based on nested session management of cloud computing collaboration environment.

  • A collaboration supporting system, which enables multi-user collaboration and communication in Internet environment, is being a new indispensable tool to compete and collaborate with business peers. A collaboration supporting system in distributed environment requires scalable and open system architecture to rapidly deploy a new technology and trends. In this paper, we propose such a collaboration supporting system where communication API is using XMI(Extended Markup Language)-based SOAP(Simple Object Access Protocol)protocols, which is independent on programming language and platform. In our system, sever components are developed with EJB(Enterprise Java Beans). System analysis, design, and development are based on UML(Unified Modeling Language).

  • Web-based collaboration platforms present construction project teams with an opportunity to improve the efficiency of document exchange, better control project communications and enhance team collaboration. However, many construction professionals are still not convinced that these platforms, in their current form, are fit-for-purpose and yield sufficient efficiencies for the construction procurement process. In an attempt to improve the current ICT diffusion process, this paper evaluates the implementation of a web-based collaboration tool on the Lane Cove Tunnel (LCT) project in Sydney, Australia. Moreover, the paper provides strategies for achieving more effective implementation of web-based collaboration platforms in the construction sector.

  • The World Wide Web (Web) is one of the most popular internet tool on now, In this reason most of common user, they understand the Web is internet and Web content is also important issues on this side. However, commonly Web content created by one of Web content creator and sometime they refer the another document and link. In these kinds of environments cause tile delivery of incorrect information or linking to another Web user. There are lots of way to protect the incorrect information deliveries to Web user and the most famous one is Computer Supported Cooperation Work (CSCW). This supports the multi-user environment on single system environment, but this needs more additional things in the current internet environment Current internet defined as distributed information network not tile traditional client-server environment. Specially, Intranet environments need to support the heterogeneous system environment like several Rinds of database, systems like PC, Mac and UNIX workstation, and etc. In this reason, we need collaboration and this would serve the common user interface to all of Web user. In these paper, we review the current concept of CSCW and grouoware that are major concept of collaboration and definition, classification and problem analysis of the collaboration. Finally, we suggest the construction method of collaboration environment for Web.

  • The primary research questions in this paper are why and how competing firms collaborate, not compete, in the virtual marketplace, e.g., B2B marketplace in the Internet environment. In order to answer the questions, we take on a system dynamics simulation approach: we consider two broad e-collaboration strategies: · Exclusive e-business strategy If the firm adopts this strategy, it allocates all of its resources (available for e-business development) to its own e-business capability building only. · Collaborative e-business strategy When the firm adopts a collaborative e-business strategy, it invests not only in its own, but also the industrys e-business capability building. From the system dynamics simulation results, we conclude that e-collaboration pays off in the long run: although it is hard to tell whether the collaborative strategy is better than the exclusive one during the initial period, it is unambiguous that the collaborative e-business strategy Performs much better in the long run. We infer that such collaboration could occur when the firms realize that they benefit from the expansion of the market demand due to their collaboration. That is, in order for such collaboration between competing firms to be sustainable, such collaboration should create more demand in the market so that each company could earn more profit even if it gets less in terms of market share.

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the influence of clinical learning environment and attitude toward physician-nurse collaboration on professionalism in nursing students. Method: The sample consisted of 317 nursing students. Data were collected from October 10 to December 20, 2014 and were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS statistics version 19. Results: The mean score for clinical learning environment was 3.15 out of 5. The mean score on the Jefferson scale attitude toward physician-nurse collaboration (JSAPNC) was 3.31 out of 4. The mean score for professionalism was 3.70 out of 5. The predictors of professionalism were major satisfaction, 'care vs cure' for the JSAPNC and 'patient relationship', 'student satisfaction' for clinical learning environment. Conclusions: Based on these results, educational programs to improve attitude toward physician-nurse collaboration and clinical learning environment should be developed.

  • To support asynchronous collaboration among remote users, collaborative applications provide collaboration services and environment through virtual workspaces. In general, collaborative applications support collaboration based on desktop-based personal computers, using the features such as resource sharing or asynchronous communication among users. Unfortunately, since those applications mainly run on personal computers, they do not easily support collaborative works in various places. In this paper, we describe the development of smartphone collaborative application which provides effective collaboration facilities like resource sharing through various types of workspaces or group communication, communicating with a WebDAV-based collaboration server. The developed application provides users with high accessibility through multi-touch/touch-slide based user-interfaces in mobile environment. To support effective communication with a collaboration server, we also present a WebDAV-based collaboration library using a collaboration protocol designed to analyze easily the responses from the collaboration server.

  • As today's business environment becomes more globalized and distributed, the importance of collaboration is rapidly increasing. This Paper Presents a systematic approach to collaboration strategy planning. The framework suggests that a Collaborative Process Map needs to be identified first. Then, Collaboration Maturity of an enterprise is evaluated. Based on the Collaborative Process Map and Collaboration Maturity Evaluation, Collaboration Execution Plans are systematically established. A case study shows that the proposed framework can successfully be applied to the strategic collaboration planning of semiconductor industry

  • In this paper, we describes a Compact Distributed Object Group Framework(CDOGF) for mobile collaboration service in ubiquitous computing. CDOGF support network connections of sensors and devices, management of mobile computing devices, and grouping of objects for mobile collaboration service according to the logical area. For this, we defined methods for detail functions and interface. And, we classified into four interactions of that sensors and a application, the CDOGF and a application, between the components of the CDOGF, the CDOGF on a mobile device and the DOGF on a server. We also defined mobile collaboration environment by analyzing existing technologies. In this environment we used the TMO scheme for interaction and the TMOSM for distributed middleware. Finally, we implemented u-hospital application that applied this environment. This application collects environment and health information by PDAs in wards. Also, It provides the information service for patient management task.
