  • In Korea, the productivity of the construction industry is evaluated at a very low level, and the utilization of the elemental technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is also very low compared to other industries. In order to solve this problematic situation, it is necessary to identify the demand for technology improvement in the specialty construction industry that is directly in charge of construction in projects. Therefore, this study aims to investigate improving construction competitiveness and the demand for technology improvement in Korea's specialty construction industry. First, the concept and status of classification of the specialized construction industry were identified, and a questionnaire was organized. Second, a survey was conducted on experts construction experts, and the demand for technical improvement of the specialty construction industry was derived by applying AHP and cluster analysis. The results of this study will serve as a practical reference for policy development, R&D direction, and technology development roadmap to enhance construction competitiveness in the future, and ultimately will help to present directions to improve the construction competitiveness of the construction industry.

  • This paper seeks to Produce a typology of enterprise-support services. Drawing upon this typology, this study will attempt to identify the status quo of the government enterprise-support services system and also examine the demand for and supply of these services according to regional differences and industrial characteristics (old versus new). Based on results of the survey taken in the Seoul software industry cluster especially around the Seocho, Gangnam-Gu, the Daejeon ICT industry cluster and the Gumi electronics industry cluster, it can be said that the demand for and supply of enterprise-support services are differentiated by the nature of an industry, the characteristics of a region and the growth stage of a firm. Finally, some policy suggestions will be addressed.

  • Many economic development practitioners view cluster theory and analysis as constituting a general approach to strategy making in economic development, which may lead them to prioritize policy and planning interventions that cannot address the actual development challenges in their cities and regions. This paper discusses the distinction between strategy formation and strategic planning, where the latter is the programming of development strategies that are identified through a blend of experience, intuition, and analysis. Cluster theories and analytical tools can provide useful informational inputs into a strategy making effort and they can also be helpful for programming specific interventions (i.e., strategic planning). However, they should not be used as the exclusive or even predominant framework for filtering information about the competitive advantages of a region or for formulating strategy. To do so forces strategy making into a conceptual box defined by only one highly stylized theory of regional growth and development.

  • Through sensor nodes it can obtain behavior, condition, location of objects. Generally speaking, sensor nodes are very limited because they have a battery power supply. Therefore, for collecting sensor data, efficient energy management is necessary in order to prolong the entire network survival. In this paper, we propose a method that increases energy efficiency to be self-configuring by distributed sensor nodes per cluster. The proposed method is based on the ANTCLUST. After measuring the similarity between two objects it is method that determine own cluster. It applies a colonial closure model of ant. The result of an experiment, it showed that the number of alive nodes increased 27% than existing clustering methods.

  • The purpose of this study is to classify the cities on sustainability assessment score studied in advance using cluster analysis, to present efficient management and policy direction based on analysis of sustainability index in 45 cities of all over Gyeongsangnam and Gyeongsangbuk-do. According to the results of cluster analysis, 45 cities were classed into 4 clusters by "livable-welfare city", "environmental -ecological city", "scientific-technological city", and "industrial-economic city". The livable-welfare cities must keep superior environmental sustainability, promote small and medium sized business on regional characteristic. The environmental-ecological cities have to change agriculture into future environmental industry such as ecotourism, bio-industry and landscape agriculture. The scientific-technological cities are going to need support of government scale such as income enlargement of citizen and stable job security. Finally, the industrial-economic cities must increase environmental management plants and improve quality of life through securing green spaces, maintaining public peace and applying UIS because of low quality of environment and life.

  • Cloud computing is a robust technology, which facilitate to resolve many parallel distributed computing issues in the modern Big Data environment. Hadoop is an ecosystem, which process large data-sets in distributed computing environment. The HDFS is a filesystem of Hadoop, which process data blocks to the cluster nodes. The data block placement has become a bottleneck to overall performance in a Hadoop cluster. The current placement policy assumes that, all Datanodes have equal computing capacity to process data blocks. This computing capacity includes availability of same storage media and same processing performances of a node. As a result, Hadoop cluster performance gets effected with unbalanced workloads, inefficient storage-tier, network traffic congestion and HDFS integrity issues. This paper proposes a storage-tier-aware Robust Data Placement (RDP) scheme, which systematically resolves unbalanced workloads, reduces network congestion to an optimal state, utilizes storage-tier in a useful manner and minimizes the HDFS integrity issues. The experimental results show that the proposed approach reduced unbalanced workload issue to 72%. Moreover, the presented approach resolve storage-tier compatibility problem to 81% by predicting storage for block jobs and improved overall data block placement by 78% through pre-calculated computing capacity allocations and execution of map files over respective Namenode and Datanodes.

  • An cluster web server system, one has the problem that does the low availability occured by the high chance of the server failures and it is not easy to provide high performance and availability occuring software aging. In this paper, running cluster web sewers consists of n primary servers and k backup servers, propose software rejuvenation model on performance and switchover time. Based on the various system operational parameters, we calculate to evaluate the rejuvenation policy such steady-state probabilities, availability, and downtime cost. And we validate the solutions of mathematical model by experiments based on various operation parameters and fud that the software rejuvenation method can be adopted as prventive fault tolerant technique for stability of system.

  • This paper searches for a potential path of Korean clusters to be competitive global innovation clusters (CGICs) and provides appropriate policy interventions to promote the cluster formation process in Korea. It argues that clusters which have their distinctive competitiveness are created as the cluster members are collectively responding to the switching forces in a rapidly changing capitalist economy. The Korean economy has acquired various assets through the rapid economic progress and these can be efficiently utilized for the creation of globally leading clusters in Korea. The process is not just copying the one and only Silicon Valley model but to create the distinguished Korean model of locally embedded innovation. That requires a recreation process of innovation clusters in Korea.

  • A cluster tool used in many kinds of semiconductor processes for improving the performance and the quality of wafers has a simple configuration, but its schedule is not easy because of its parallel processing module, a lack of intermediate buffers, and time constraints. While there have been many studies on its schedule, most of them have focused on full cycles in which identical work cycles are repeated under constant task times. In this research, we suggest strategies of start-up transient scheduling which satisfies time constraints and converges into a desirable steady schedule for full work cycle. The proposed schedules are expected robust under the stationary stochastic task times. Finally, we show that the strategies make schedules enters the desirable steady schedule and robust using the simulation.

  • In SMEs, technological innovation is recognized as an important tool in terms of sustainable growth. This study analyzed the determinants of technological innovation by using the information of the corporate panel DB composed of local SMEs. The internal factors were added with technological innovation capacity and production capacity and the industrial cluster environment was first applied to external factors. Also, whether the industrial cluster environment influences technological innovation through R&D capabilities, the mediating effect was tested with the Sobel Test. Among the internal and external factors, the most important determinant was marketing ability, and a policy was proposed to develop measures to increase R&D capability with mediating effect. Among the technological innovation variables, which are dependent variables, the most determinant factor was the proportion of new product sales. For this, it is considered that additional research such as longitudinal research with the concept of repetition and parallax using the corporate panel DB is necessary.
