여자 중$\cdot$고등학교 학생들의 의복행동에 관한 연구 -교복을 중심으로- (Attitudes toward School Uniform and Clothing Behavior among High School Girls)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among the variables of attitudes toward school uniform, three aspects of clothing behavior, self-concept, and selected behaviors. Instruments used to test the hypotheses were 12 items selected from the Behavior Test by Laubach, The Perceptual Orientation Scale by Choi, 14 items to assess the attitudes toward school uniform, and 21 modified items to evaluate conformity, fashion, and modesty in clothing. The questionnaires were completed by 484 2nd grade junior and senior high school girls in Seoul. Statistical analysis was performed using the correlation coefficient, $x^2$-tests, and t-tests. The findings could be summarized as follows: 1) Perceptual Orientation and Behavioral Orientation were not significantly related to attitudes toward school uniform. 2) Perceptual Orientation and Behavioral Orientation were negatively related to clothing conformity, 3) Attitudes toward school uniform and clothing behavior were partially different by the grade level and the type of school. 4) Fashion was positively related to conformity, but negatively related to modesty in clothing.

액티브 실버층의 성별과 연령에 따른 건강 쾌적 기능성 소재 의류의 착용 행동 (Wearing Behavior of the Active Silver Generation to Functional Textiles Related with Gender and Age)

  • Studying awareness, importance, satisfaction, and wearing behavior of functional textiles for active silver generation related with gender and age is expected to contribute to clothing products development to improve and maintain their health and marketing strategy fit for user characteristics. For empirical research, a survey was developed and the aged 50 and above were 332 respondents. The results of the study are as follows. First, silver generation considered all the clothing comfort sensations important when wearing clothes, such as tactile sensation, clothing pressure sensation, thermal/wet sensation, and motion sensation in human physiological aspect. Also, stretchy fabrics were ranked first in awareness, the number of wearing times, and satisfaction of comfort functional fabrics. More than 30% of silver generation have fifteen items out of 36 functional clothes. Second, in analysis of awareness by gender on functional clothing products, women were more aware of health/safety-oriented fabrics than men were. Otherwise, men had more knowledge about the water-related properties of functional fabrics than women have, such as water/moisture absorptive and water-repellent/vapor permeable fabrics. While women have more indoor casual wear, men had more active sportswear. Also, women expressed a strong preference to the stretchy function of fabrics.

파운데이션 착용으로 인한 의복압과 주관적 감각의 비교 평가 (Comparative Evaluation of Clothing Pressure and Subjective Sensation Exerted by Foundation)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relation between clothing pressure and subjective sensation exerted by foundation. Nineteen females volunteered as subjects. Experimental foundations were brassiere with 70B, 70C, 75B and 75C size which were widely distributed in pilot test and two types of girdle of which size were 64, 70 and 76. Clothing pressure with an air pack system and subjective sensation were measured at 5 points in brassiere and 7 points in the girdle. As the result of this study, brassiere's band and girdle's waist line, of which clothing pressure are high, is needed to improve. Generally the more pressure makes the more tightness, however, in some regions more or less pressure can give comfort. The tightness rating may not only related to clothing pressure, but also related to factors such as body size, body fat, resilience of muscle and bone structure. Other subjective sensation such as tactile feeling, hot/wet feeling, etc. in addition to the study with consideration of these factors could be used in future research to evaluate the effectiveness of foundation.

양마비자(Diplegia)의 피복구성을 위한 인체계측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Body Measurement of Diplegia Individual for the Clothing Construction)

  • In order to get the basic information about the designing and manufacturing of special clothing which is suitable diplegia individuals, taking anthropometic measurements, the di-plegia's body dimension, standard dimension, their correlation, maximum, minimum, the relative deviation graph of Mollison and the body index were obtained. The writer examined their body development and abnormal somatotype and compared the difference with the normal somatotype. The results are as follows: 1 One characteristic of the body of diplegia individuals is that their lower parts are dis- proportionately developed, compared to their upper parts. 2. Diplegia individuals have smaller measurements than those of the normal; height, breadth, and circumference measurments of lower parts. And diplegia individuals have larger measur- ments; breadth and circumference measurements of upper parts, most of the length measur- ements. 3. In body index, diplegia individuals have lager measurments than those of the normals; most of index for stature and chest circumference and waist circumference index. And diplegia individuals have smaller measurments; most of the lower parts. 4. Change of somatotype according to age is unbalanced different from the normal's. 5. For the proportion of diplegia individuals, therefore a different pattern design of ciothing is required based on their special somatotype.

청소년들 자기표현과 외모 관심에 따른 교복제품 구매행동에 관한 연구 (The Buying Behavior for School Uniforms according to Adolescents' Assertiveness and Appearance Concerns)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify impacts of adolescent consumers' assertiveness and appearance concerns on their buying behaviors when they buy school uniforms. This research examined information sources and purchase evaluative criteria as related variables of clothing buying behaviors. The Internet survey was carried out to middle and high school students in Seoul. A total of 907 data were analyzed by factor analysis, frequency analysis and step-wise multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: From a result of factor analysis on adolescent consumers' assertiveness, appearance concerns and information sources and purchase evaluative criteria for buying school uniforms, each four variances showed factorial structures clearly. School uniform consumers' assertiveness and appearance concerns had significant influences on information sources and purchase evaluative criteria. Especially, an impact of conformity appearance concern was inclined to be high on information sources and purchase evaluative criteria.

여자 중학생의 신체성장에 따른 신체이미지 및 자기존중감, 의복태도 형성모델 (Formation Models of Body Image, Self-Esteem, and Clothing Attitudes as Related to Pubertal Physical Growth)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships among physical growth, body criticism from others, sociocultural attitude toward physical appearance, body image, self-esteem, and clothing attitudes. The data were collected from 439 junior high school girls living in Seoul, Korea, via a self-administered questionnaires, and were analyzed by factor analysis and LISREL models. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Among three sub-variables of physical growth, the height had a positive effect on the affective aspect of body image. 2) The body criticism from others had the effect neither on the sociocultural attitude toward physical appearance nor on the affective aspect of body image. 3) The sociocultural attitude toward physical appearance had a negative effect on the affective aspect of body image and a positive effect on the cognitive/behavioral aspect of body image. 4) The affective aspect of body image had a positive effect on the cognitive/behavioral aspect of body image, self-esteem, and clothing attitude. However, the cognitive/behavioral aspect of body image had the effect on clothing attitude. 5) The self-esteem had no significant effect on clothing attitudes.

의복의 구속성에 관한 연구(III) - 화운데이션의 의복압과 근활동과의 관계를 중심으로 - (Studied on Garment Restraint(III) - Relation between Clothing Pressure and Muscular Activity of Foundation -)

  • We studied relation between the clothing pressure applied by foundations(waist nipper, girdle, body suit) on the waist of bodies and muscular activity, feeling of tightness. The main results were summerized as follows ; 1. Clothing pressure applied by foundations was high in order of girdle>waist nipper>body suit, also clothing pressure was higher back than front and side, sitting on the chair than standing posture, ventral flection than repose. Individual differences, even if size of body was equal, were shown in clothing pressure applied by foundations with subcutaneous fat's amount in measuring region. 2. The muscular activity of rectus abdominis than obliquus externus abdominis was more affected by foundations in all kinds of postures and motions. Amplitude of electromyogram was high sitting on the chair than standing posture, but there was little difference with motion variation. The wearing girdle strongly affected on the muscular activities of rectus abdominis and obliquus externus abdominis as compared with waist nipper and body suit. 3. The value for feeling of tightness by wearing waist nipper was higher than girdle and body suit. Also the case when sitting on the chair and ventral flection, the value for feeling of tightness was high. When the foundations were on the body, most tightened on the region of the body was anterior abdominal region.

의류 제품의 속성에 대한 인지적 복잡성에 관한 연구 -의복 관여를 중심으로- (The Cognitive Complexity of Clothing Attributes -Focused on Clothing Involvement-)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the cognitive complexity of clothing attributes, which influence the preference and purchase intentions. The subjects of this study are 434 female college students and formal survey methodologies were used for collecting data. Those data were analyzed with SAS program, and various methods such as factor analysis, cluster analysis, conjoint analysis, path analysis of Lisrel were followed. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Clothing involvement consists of the affective factor and the cognitive factor. 2) The consumers were divided into three groups with regards to the degree of their clothing involvement. 3) Significant differences were found regarding the cognitive complexity of clothing attributes among these groups.

웰빙 의류상품 구매의도에 의복 추구혜택이 미치는 영향 -친환경 의류상품 및 건강 기능성 의류상품을 중심으로- (The Effects of Benefits Pursued to Clothing on the Purchase Intention of Apparel for Consumer's Well-being -Eco-friendly and Health-functional Apparels-)

  • This study investigates the effects of benefits pursued to clothing on the purchase intention of wellbeing oriented apparel products (eco-friendly and health-functional apparel). Data were collected from a total of 251 Korean females ranging from 20 to 50 years old and analyzed by SEM. Pragmatic benefit positively affected but aesthetical benefits negatively affected the purchase intention of eco-friendly apparel and health-functional apparel. The social benefit influenced the purchase intention of health-functional apparel but did not influence the purchase intention of eco-friendly apparel.
