■ Objectives The purpose of this case report is to show the effect of Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM) on a patient with Miller Fisher Syndrome. ■ Methods A patient with Ataxia, Diplopia, Mydriasis diagnosed as Miller Fisher Syndrome was treated with herbal medication, acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, and press needles. Then we evaluated the improvement with the size of pupil, NRS(Numeral Rating Scale) of Diplopia, Assessment for Gait disturbance. ■ Results We could observe decrease in pupil size and NRS of Diplopia and improve in assessment for gait disturbance after the TKM treatment. ■ Conclusion This case showed the effect of TKM treatment on Miller Fisher syndrome.

■ Objectives This case study is to report the two cases of Ukgansan-gami on sleep-related behavior disorder after stroke. ■ Methods Two patients who had sleep-related behavior disorder after stroke were treated by Ukgansan-gami about a month. We evaluated these patients with the frequency and severity of symptoms. ■ Results During treatment period, decreases in both frequency and severity of symptoms were observed in two cases. ■ Conclusion Two patients who were suffered from sleep-related behavior disorder due to sequelae of stroke showed significant improvement of their symptom after taking Ukgansan-gami.

■ Objectives The purpose of this study is to report on a case that showed improvement in type 2 diabetic patients by using herbal medicine, Yeoldahansotang-gami. ■ Methods Yeoldahansotang-gami was given to patients with type 2 diabetes for 71days. To evaluate the effect, blood glucose was measured 4 times a day. As measured blood sugar, the frequency of hyperglycemia, changes in fasting blood sugar, changes in postprandial blood sugar, and changes in glucose variability were analyzed. The patient's insulin injection dose change was observed, and HbA1c and glycated albumin were measured. Follow-up was performed for 7 months to observe whether the treatment effect was maintained. ■ Results During treatment, the patient's blood sugar control, glucose variability, and HbA1c were improved, and insulin injection dose was gradually reduced and stopped. HbA1c and glycated albumin levels maintained improvement without insulin injection during the follow-up period. ■ Conclusion This study showed the effect of yeoldahansotang-gami on type 2 diabetes patient.

This is a case report of Raynaud's disease improved by Korean medicine treatment. A patient suffering with redness of the hands for more than five years took Yanggyeoksanhwa-tang or Geopungcheonggi-san for 3 months. The change in symptoms was assessed with photographs and evaluating the subjective symptoms of patient. After the 25th treatment, the redness of the hands and the subjective symptoms showed improvement. These findings suggested that Korean medicine treatment could be an effective option for redness of the hands due to Raynaud's disease.

A case of a 46-year-old Korean male with post-stroke insomnia that induced by intracranial hemorrhage was presented. He was treated with Transcutaneous electric acupoint stimulation (TEAS) at BL62 and KI6 once per a day for 17 days. We recorded the patient's sleep time and time of asleep, and used PSQI-K to assess severity of patient's insomnia symptom. After using TEAS, there was improvement in patient's insomnia severity and the time of sleep. From the result of this case, electrical stimulation at acupoint can may be effective in treating post-stroke insomnia.

■ Objectives The purpose is to report the case of Korean medicine in the treatment of bilateral superior altitudinal hemianopia after a stroke. ■ Methods The patient was treated with acupuncture, electroacupuncture, bee venom, and herbal medicine. The visual field defect was assessed using humphrey visual field analyzer and confrontation visual field test. ■ Results After treatment, humphrey visual field analyzer and confrontation visual field test showed improvement in field of vision ■ Conclusion This study suggested that Korean medical treatment could be an effective option for treating visual field defect after stroke.

■ Objectives The purpose of this case is to report the effectiveness of Korean medicine in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea. ■ Methods The patient was diagnosed as a Soeumin, one of the 4 constitution types in Korean medicine, and treated with herbal medicine, Osuyubujaijung-tang and acupuncture treatment. The severity of symptom was assessed using daily defecation frequency, Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) of abdominal pain, Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS) score and Irritable Bowel Syndrome - Quality of Life (IBS-QOL) score. ■ Results After treatment, the defecation frequency was reduced from 6 to 2 times a day, and the severity of abdominal pain was reduced from NRS 6 to NRS 2. Also, GSRS score was decreased from 18 to 4 and IBS-QOL score was improved from 70.59 to 81.18. ■ Conclusion This study suggested that Korean medical treatment could be an effective option for treating irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea.

■ Objectives The purpose of this case study is to report the effectiveness of Gami Ssanghwa-tang on the restless legs syndrome patient. ■ Methods The patient was treated with Korean medicine, including herbal medication Gami Ssanghwa-tang for 26 days and acupuncture for once a week as an out patient. The evaluation was performed using the Korean versions of the International Restless Legs Scale(K-IRLS). ■ Results After 34 days of treatment, the K-IRLS total score improved from 24 to 8. And at the follow up session(7 days after end of treatment), the K-IRLS total score improved to 0. ■ Conclusion This study suggested that herbal medicine, Gami Ssanghwa-tang might be effective in Restless legs syndrome.

Objective: This case study reported the effectiveness of adjuvant Korean therapy on gait disturbances induced by drug-induced Parkinsonism. Method: A patient suffering from frontotemporal lobe dementia was diagnosed with drug-induced Parkinsonism and treated with adjuvant Korean therapy, including herbal medicine and pharmaco-acupuncture. The evaluation was performed by monitoring the length of time and number of steps during an 8 m gait, using the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS). Results: After 17 days of adjuvant Korean therapy, the UPDRS score improved from 32 to 16. The length of time for the 8 m gait improved from 20 seconds to 14 seconds. The patient also showed a decrease in the number of steps during the 8 m gait from 43 to 22. Conclusion: This case suggests that adjuvant Korean therapy can be effective for drug-induced Parkinsonism.

This study reported a case of hot flashes in a patient after coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) infection. The patient in this case was hospitalized for eight days and improved after the administration of Korean medicine, mainly Yangkyuksanwha-tang. We evaluated the patient's subjective discomfort daily, and the patient kept a diary of hot flashes every day. After treatment, the degree and frequency of hot flashes were greatly improved and continued two weeks after discharge. In addition, the accompanying hyperhidrosis improved from Grade 2 to Grade 0. This study suggests that Korean medicine might be effective in combating the hot flashes of soyangin-type patients.
