This study was conducted to investigate factors contributing to clinical competence for nurses. A descriptive correlational study design was used. Participants were 163 nurses from a general hospital. Data were collected using self-administerd questionnaire. There were significant differences in clinical competence according to scholarship, department type, preceptor experience, future plan, continuing education participation. The clinical competence had significant correlations with the clinical experience, critical thinking disposition and clinical decision making. Factors influencing clinical competence were critical thinking disposition, department type, and clinical experience, which explained about 50.3% of total variance. we suggest that continuing education program to enhance critical thinking disposition warranted for development of clinical competence for nurses.

The purpose of this study is to develop the Clinical Kinesiology Class Contents(: CKCC) by utilizing movies and investigate the effects of its application to clinical kinesiology learning. The developed CKCC were applied to the clinical kinesiology classes for 47 second year student of physical therapy and occupational therapy in K college in G City. CKCC includ movie scenes that can demonstrate the action of muscles effectively, for better student understanding, as has already been shown widely. The interest and understanding of CKCC by the class was analysed. The results show that the developed CKCC is very effective implement for stimulating students' interest(p<0.05) and understanding(p<0.05) of clinical kinesiology classes.
Objectives : In each section of Huangdineijing, we reviewed how the actual clinical application of Five-Transport-points was reflected and looked at the pattern of the application at the time. Methods : The contents related to Five-Transport-points in Huangdineijing were collected from each part, and analyzed. Results : There was a great difference in the number and contents of the clinical application of each Five-Transport-point for each 12 meridian, and only 28.3% of all Five-Transport-points had been related to clinical treatment. In addition, in specific applications, spring point, stream point, and sea point were used more often than well point, and Five-Transport-points between the same meridian or different meridians were used in combination as needed. Conclusions : Five-Transport-points described in Huangdineijing are intended to be operated within the overall framework structurally or functionally with a certain principle, but as a result of comprehensive analysis of specific examples of clinical application, there was a difference in the application between Five-Transport-points. This indicates that at the time of the establishment of Huangdineijing, which was the early stage of the development of Traditional East Asian Medicine, a variety of miscellaneous acupuncture methodologies were used in addition to those based on five elements principle.
Importance recognition of the nursing management(N. M.) clinical practice contents and the actual practical experience were studied against 289 students of 3 nursing schools who had undergone the senior N. M clinical practice. The most important item they considered from the practical evaluation was responsibility followed by interpersonal relationship, trust, communication, and ethic. For the importance of the N. M. contents, nursing unit management was considered as the most important(4.37/5). Abilities they could actually experience from the clinical practice were nursing unit management(22.0%), understanding of nursing management(20.7%), and human resource management(19.8%). And, abilities they could never experience were marketing(52.4%) and financial management(44.0%). Since there was an inconsistency between the importance of contents students recognized and the actual experience, I suggest a completion of standardized protocol of N. M. clinical training and implementation of management training exclusive preceptor system.

Objectives: This study was aimed to develop a Korean Medicine (KM) clinical practice guideline (CPG) of Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy (NVP). Methods: We conducted a questionnaire survey targeting KM doctors belonging to the Association of Korean Medicine by e-mail. We received 1,023 responds, and analyzed the answers. Results: 1. 83.0% of respondents knew the concepts and contents of CPG, and 98.1% had practical use plan. 2. 82.1% of respondents used pattern identification diagnosis for NVP patients, and the most commonly diagnosed pattern was spleen-stomach weakness (脾胃虛弱) with 41.3%. 3. The most frequently used treatment for NVP patients was KM combined treatment (46.7%). Herbal medicine+acupuncture (46.8%) was most used among KM combined treatments, and herbal medicine (37.1%) was most used among KM single treatments. 4. Among the contents of CPG for NVP, the fields of interest were selected in the order of KM treatment, KM-Western medicine cooperative treatment, KM diagnosis, prevention and regimen management. In the 'diagnosis part', the use of the symptom evaluation scale questionnaire was 41.8%, higher than the KM pattern diagnosis (34.4%). In the 'treatment part', herbal medicine accounted for 33.8%, higher than that of acupuncture (including electro-acupuncture) at 23.7%. 5. As for the expected development effects, opinions on evidence-based, safety, clinical use, and standardization were the most common. Conclusions: We figured out KM doctors' recognition of KM clinical practice guideline, clinical diagnosis, treatment on NVP to make the contents of the CPG reflecting the clinical situation.
The purpose of this study is to empirically examine how much the electronic clinical trial data management system actually enhances its efficiency. While the development of clinical trial markets highlights the significance of data management with increasing rate of adoption of electronic systems, its effects have not been fully supported with rigorous evidences. Particularly, the adoption rate of electronic clinical trial systems is low in domestic clinical trials markets. This study attempts to analyze the effect of the systems for reminding the importance of e-data management in clinical trials. The measurement indicator is experimented with the time related data collected from a multi-center clinical trial case. The result showed that the speed of the electronic clinical trial processes can be improved. The implication of this study lies in its first attempt to empirically analyze the effect of electronic clinical data management systems. Furthermore, application of the indicator in conjunction with electronic clinical trial processes is expected to facilitate strategic data management.

Due to the acceleration of medical information age, the semantic interoperability of clinical information is rising up as a major issue. The laboratory results are known as the best significant area among clinical information to be required for exchanging and sharing. The aim of this research is to develop the clinical contents model for exchange laboratory results. This research was conducted from March 2008 to September 2008. Firstly, the method is to get the attributes and codes from LOINC which is one of the standard medical terminology system related to laboratory and the Reference Information Model(RIM) of Health Level 7(HL7). Secondly, the attributes from each work process around orders and reports of laboratory was analyzed. We evaluated the attributes whether they could be represented into the attributes contained in HL7's RIM. Thirdly, the prototype for hemoglobin case using the structure of clinical contents model and defined attribute. Fourthly, the face validity was done by one laboratory physician with four clinicians. The assessment contents were for the suitability involved in representation and exchange with proposed model. The results shows that the model corresponds with the aim of the research. Eventually the proposed model for the exchange of laboratory results could contributes to information interchange according to laboratory area for the future.
The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting clinical practice-related fatigue among undergraduate nursing students. The data were collected from a questionnaire distributed among 129 juniors and seniors (3rd and 4th year students) in nursing college at the G city, who were at the end of clinical practice. Multiple regression analysis found that the significant major predictors of clinical practice-related fatigue among nursing students were sleep quality (${\beta}=.30$), anxiety (${\beta}=.26$), exercise frequency (${\beta}=-.21$) and clinical practice stress (${\beta}=.19$). These variable factors could explain 33.6% of clinical practice-related fatigue among nursing students. This study suggests that sleep quality, anxiety, exercise frequency, and clinical practice stress are significant factors of clinical practice-related fatigue among nursing students. Therefore, strategies improving sleep quality and exercise and managing anxiety and stress should be developed to reduce the fatigue for nursing students during clinical exposure.
With the help of information technology, it is the most important to collect clinical data correctly in clinical trials. For this, recently, in many pharmaceutical companies and Clinical Research Organizations (CRO) have tried to adopt an Electronic Case Report Form (eCRF) system. The eCRF system is a computerized system designed for collecting and managing clinical data in clinical trials. Although the eCRF is recognized as a significant system for clinical trials, until now there are no widely useable, due to the huge effort and expense at the initiatory stage of adopting eCRF system. In this study, we inquired the use of eCRF system developed for clinical trial at Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine. Especially, we focused on the time required for entering clinical data into the eCRF, hours of use, and the number of queries according to the time flow.
